Thank you for that great display of depth and knowledge.
Your response of “LOL WRONG AGAIN”, sure shows me how wrong my response was. You’re rebuttal filled with factual information has shown me the error of my ways.
@Ika_Zuchi_No_Kami
Didn’t realize that you are IKA from youtube, you pretty much modeled all of my jill resets, good shit :P. I don’t think your team is the most optimized though, so I’d have to agree with jsoledout there. I (and almost every jill player) feel that Jill needs an anti-air.
I don’t run Jill w/ an AA assist. I used to run Strider but he doesn’t get me much. I don’t have a Dante so I won’t run Jam Session. Honestly, I get better results with Unibeam + Spitfire for her assists.
I haven’t fought a good Trish / Dok yet, so it’s hard to say. For Doom, I haven’t had a problem with people zoning with Doom, Unibeam is faster than Plasma beam and by the time that comes out I’m usually next to them. For now, I know they’ll be trying to get in, or whatnot, so I fish out a somersault. Most GOOD Mags that I know don’t zone, so having an AA doesn’t help TOO much, until they fly away. In general, stay under them w/ ferals > somersault. I’ll see if I can be more cognisant of the match the next time I fight a good Doom / Mags and I’ll let you know. I’m going to try Jill / RR / Ammy though. The mixup potential is off the charts.
I don’t think that the team is too bad. Jill may not provide much support for Magneto, but Magneto with sentinel backing him up is plenty strong. And I can’t see how jill with disrupter isn’t seen as very strong. It may not provide sufficient lockdown, but as you said it’s very fast, it clears opponents projectiles AND it makes her teleport approaches/shenanigans safe if they end up actually blocking disrupter. As someone who used to use Jill/Viper/Dante for the longest I happen to find the team pretty attractive b/c covering approaches as Jill isn’t nearly as difficult with disrupter.
A Good Mag will always play to the best of the matchup. Without an AA, there’s basically nothing stopping him from Plinking Dash H/OS backwards+ Mag Blast to stop him from getting adequate room to start his zoning game. With each of your teams, there’s nothing stoping him from Plinking his ass to the other side of the screen—> Mashing EM Disrupter. There’s absolutely nothing jill can do at the point to stop him from doing it as he can counter everyone of her tools @ full screen.
From full screen, you get ONE teleport/Dash covered by EM Disrupter. That’s great, but it’s not enough to launch a full scale pressure from all distances. What’s stopping me from Blocking the EM Disrupter, then just cr.L your next advance?
Haha, it’s been about 3 or 4 weeks since I’ve touched UMvC3. I get on today and face a High Lord that used Hulk/Doom/Wesker. I switched out Jill on point for She-Hulk on point and 9-0’d his team. He spammed hidden missiles the entire round while spamming H with Hulk. His Hulk couldn’t get past all my invincible She-Hulk resets which made the hidden missiles useless. I only switched to Jill when it came down to his Wesker. He dropped midway during the 10th match. I had forgotten just how scrubby some of the High Lords players are online. When you get past their gimmicks, they get mad and leave. Man, I love She-Hulk & Jill… dood!
This forum has helped me so much with Jill… I feel I must share this video with you guys first-hand.
A great thanks to Lex (Gangie) for helping me translate this to English.
