It was actually lag. All the raw cartwheels were supposed to be after the Vajra Confirm that I do a lot, but the connection was pretty bad so the timing was off.

Still seems like a good thing to do when they’re above your head and you need them to come down, at least once in a while.<div><br></div><div>But yeah, dood, that’s what I figured out to do anyway lol. Always try your BnB even after an accident. If they flip out, then you have some labwork to do XD</div>
<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”> I noticed today that if you cancel the 7,8 or 9 feral dashes into a DKD immediately it kinda does a weird height lifting effect as it seems to keep the momentum from the feral dash. Normally when you feral dash into the air with jill you land very quickly but using this move seems to lift you up some more before you dive down.</span></font><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>I can’t think of any practical situations to use this in since DKD is pretty bad in the neutral game but I figured I would mention it. </span></font></div>

<br><div>Haggar matchup to bypass lariat. </div>
Just as a heads up, I’ll be working on a video over the course of the next week or two that contains a good amount of probably new Jill tech I discovered that’s actually really good, as well as a number of cool things that may or may not be known but are still really good to know, so basically an advanced character strats tutorial. This character is better than people think, although she still gets destroyed by Zero, which I’m working on.
Zero was never a problem for me with jill, you just gotta have the balls to punish him.
You probably haven’t played a competent Zero, then.
Same one that beat jsoledout with zero, i always ended up killing the zero but losing to his dante
EDIT: I’m not saying im better than NSR, NSR kicks the shit out of me every game, I just find that I don’t have trouble with zero players.
No, Zero absolutely destroys Jill. The Zero you were playing was trash. Trust me.
I’m gonna compile a list of shells/characters that destroy jill, and it will be updated over time, as we find ways to counter them.
So far:
Virgil/Dante
Zero
Chris/Hsien Ko(or Haggar)
C.Viper
Magnegro
Ghost Rider
Wesker + beam
No. If you’re judging matchups on “how I do online while testing stuff out” than you’re doing them wrong. Zero destroys Jill because of Zero’s overwhelming tools that destroy Jill. This is a fact.
Chris and Hsien-Ko do not give Jill trouble. Just apply pressure on chris and you’re good to og.
Vergil is a pretty shitty matchup, but it has a lot of variance and depends on what position he’s being played and how.
Dante is a good matchup for Jill.
Ghost Rider is a good matchup for Jill.
Wesker is a good matchup for Jill.
C.Viper I would put at 6-4? It’s not that bad of a matchup since Jill has tools to combat her EX’s, but C.Viper’s zoning is really good. On the other hand, Jill can bypass Viper’s lazer via her FC.
Haggar’s a pretty shitty assist that ruins everything. Can’t apply the same mixups.
I’d have to disagree with you on Chris/Hsien ko. However you are much more skilled than me so I am probably just doing it wrong. You have a point for the rest of them.
I believe I did a write-up on Chris in the matchup thread. He’s really not a difficult character if you don’t give him space. He lacks mobility so applying pressure isn’t a difficult task.
Hsien-Ko is far easier. If Rimoukon Senpu-bu is giving you a hard time, Just THC and kill her. Since she’s rimoukon’d, there’s no risk of her falling out off the THC anyway/
NSR- do you have an update for us on your guide. I thought both you and Paulo were aiming for late Jan?
I found myself not getting any better with jill. It’s so frustrating when you practice so much but dont improve at all. I’m highly highly considering dropping jill because of the pure frustration, i’ve already taken a break from playing her and am pretty good at morrigan/magneto/doom, but I feel like ill regret dropping her, because when i do get that 1/1000 match that I win, it feels sooo good. What do you guys think?
Because of jill’s level of mix-up creativity I will never drop Jill. Unlike some characters jill has a lot of room to evolve and at least for me there always seems to be something more to work on with her. There are characters that yield better results for less effort, so I can understand your frustration and some of jills match-ups are difficult to deal with which can be discouraging.
It’s not even her difficulty. I always LOVED her until now. I loved the amount of creativity that character has. My frustration is coming from me never being able to do a strategy that works. Always getting beaten, even though I can do it all. Because of that frustration, I’ve been getting worse and worse at her game. Before, I would practice with 15 first-frame somersault cancels in a row, now I can barely hit 5… Shit like that is just getting me really pissed really fast because I know that was able to do it before T_T. Thanks for the reply, I’m trying to think of any reason at all not to drop her.
