The Master of DLC Unlocking -The Jill Valentine Thread

Man, I just let Dota2 get the better of me last month. Took me too long to realize how boring and frustrating that game is. Then I had to get off a Soul Calibur V high after Christmas. I’m rusty as hell and no one will play me.

It seems Jill’s getting more popular and popular by the day!

Persona 4 Arena addiction right here. Sometimes i still 22S with Shadow Labrys thinking she’s jill. Haha

Jwong is currently(1/03/13) holding a LIVE stream of his practice sessions, where is is answering questions and taking requests. When he ask what character would the viewers like him to play,Jill was one of the top picks. He stated that he likes Jill alot and that his Jill was very basic.SHE WAS VERY BASIC!!!LOL!!
He played Jill.dante and Frank. Claimed that Jill /dante has GREAT synergy. He used shopping cart and dante’s fire tower move? claims jill is low damage but doesnt need it because she’s a RESET monster. Said Clockwork has a GREAT Jill and was asked about Brazil’s PAULO’s Jill and Superskull(ground bounce combo?). Claims he would play Jill (low tier)but prefers Storm(low Tier)(played her from the beginning), wolverine and akuma(just for his assist)
Very interesting that Jill was one of the most asked about and requested characters, considering when i watch streams she’s NEVER played.
Also of note that X-23, Dr strange and chun li were the others.

yeah - there were people in the chat telling Justin how to do better combos with her. not to toot NSR’s and paulos horn but if they were impressed by Jwongs’ Jill, then our guys here would have left them speechless. LOL.
I forgot to add, he was told to switch her placement and he laugh and said Jill should ALWAYS be on point. Said that she needs a lockdown assist more than a beam assist. And if he would add a beam assist it would be Dooms plasma beam(the best IHO). Like using Shopping cart with her alot and claimed she’s underused.

It’s extremely easy to get people excited just by playing Jill with any competence. Happens every time I attend the locals.

yep but i am new to all this so it was hard for me to keep up with the chatroom typing, justin talking and watching his gameplay at the same time. People kept asking him to play Jill, and someone mention you being the best Jill player-Paulo from Brazil, justin stated he knew you more for your superskrull and some ground bounce combos? not sure what that meant but you were defiantly talked about there. I am POSITIVE!!! sorry not being more helpful. It was also stated that you beat Combofiend. Congrats man.

ahhh, it’s a bad habit that I’m trying to get rid of. i will start trying to learn to use flip kick more often and stop doing the jump loop. do you wait to see which way your opponent rolls before you teleport?

Would I be wrong in assuming that a raw Cartwheel is actually kind of nice in certain situations like as an incoming option, defending against aggressive tri-dashing, or predicting a teleport?  That thing has a hell of a hitbox that hangs around for quite a while, and FC is still an option as always.<br>

It’s truly punishable in a lot of situations.  Plus, you’re using your groundbounce which is cutting Jill’s damage output.  <div><br></div><div>All the times where you could use a raw Cartwheel, you could use a Somersault, which is actually invincible and doesn’t cut Jill’s damage output in half. </div><div><br></div><div>It’s a decent choice online or against unsuspecting opponents, but once they adapt it won’t work.  It’s also good for incoming mixups, but there’s stronger options (it’s still the best to use post-infinite though).  </div>

It can also be used as an ambiguous reset. Also, what’s the synergy between Jill and Dante with weasel shot? I already have an AA (Strider)

It was actually lag. All the raw cartwheels were supposed to be after the Vajra Confirm that I do a lot, but the connection was pretty bad so the timing was off.

It was actually lag. All the raw cartwheels were supposed to be after the Vajra Confirm that I do a lot, but the connection was pretty bad so the timing was off.
