The Marvel Q & A - Rebirth

When you put it like that it does seem kind of silly, but it’s also kind of funny!

It is funny, but I prefer to call it - :lame:

Good job again Marvel.

Long story short, Dan Ketch was possesed by Noble Kale to become Ghost Rider, or something like that, without getting into specifics.

Anyways, here’s part 1 of what the Marvel MVC2 Cast is up to now. I’ll add everyone else when I get a minute. Feel free to correct or add stuff.

 1. Cable - Back to leading X-Force. During a struggle with a crazy religous sect that wanted everyone to come together under one race and one religion (making each of it’s members bald and turning their skin color blue) Cable and Deadpool combined into one big goop and then seperated. As a result of this, Deadpool will now appear next to Cable whenever he bodyslides so their connection has not been severed 100%.

 2. Marrow - Last I saw her she was a member of Weapon X. Weapon X scientists slowed her disfigurement and gave her full control of her powers.

 3. Cyclops - After the death of Jean Grey at the hands of a Magneto imposter, Cyclops wished to disband the school. 100 plus years later Jean Grey came back to life in an apocalytic future that was the result of Cyke closing down the school. To avoid this future, Jean used her powers to make Cyclops in our time fall in love with White Queen to give him hope to start the school up again.

 4. Wolverine - Decapitated a Magneto imposter that killed Jean Grey. Currently Hydra has found a way to control him to do their evil bidding. Once he gets over this, he’s supposed to become an Avenger but still remain an X-Men.

 5. Iceman - Has gone through a secondary mutation. He can no longer revert to human form and is Ice 24/7.

 6. Juggernaut - For a while there, it looked like he was betraying the X-Men to join up with the new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, but PSYKE! He’s still an X-Men through and through.

 7. Hulk - On the run from the authorities. Someone named Dr. Blue via E-mails and such was helping him in the use of self hypnosis to control his transformation. Upon meeting Mr. Blue, it turned out to be his wife Betty who he thought was killed by Abomination! But Hulk is still all alone and on the run.

 8. Magneto - Still alive, survived the attack on Genosha. The world thought he was killed in New York, but that was an imposter. Very few know the real Magneto is still alive. He’s working with Professor X in Genosha.

 9. Spider-Man - Gwen Stacy had two kids with Norman Osborne before she died. Since the original Green Goblin was their father, their offspring - a boy and a girl were mutants that aged too fast. Appearing as if they were twenty plus years old they attacked Spider-Man believing he was their father and he killed their Mother Gwen. Spider-Man told them the truth, the girl accepted it but not the boy. This story’s ongoing.

In a story that takes place after this, an insect lady attempted to mutate Spidey into a big Spider. It didn’t take, but Spidey gained the ability to shoot webs without webshooters like the movies. He can hear the thoughts of insects as well, which he finds amusing because spiders are not insects, they are arachnids, LOL! He’s going to become an Avenger as well.

 1. Captain America - Dealing with the ramifications of “Avengers Disassemble,” AKA the systematic destruction of the Avengers by an unknown enemy. The latest blow was the death of his good friend Hawkeye.

 2. Shuma Gorath - ?

 3. Doctor Doom - ? Last time I saw him, Spider-Man saved his life at a NYC Airport against Latverian enemies. Doom said he owed Spidey a debt of gratitude. Spidey then insulted Doom, so Doom decided to repay his debt to Spidey by not killing him on the spot!

 4. Venom - There’s crap going on in the Venom and Carnage books, but since there are glairing continuity errors and neither the Marvel Encyclopedias or Marvel Universe Books mention it, I’m going to assume it’s out of continuity for the time being. Anyway, it was revealed that the symbiote feeds off adrenaline which is why it wanted to recombine with Spider-Man all this time since he had enough adrenaline to sustain it. The symbiote left Eddie Brock and through the years of feeding off Brock’s adrenaline, it left him very weak as he was dying of cancer. Spider-Man tricked the suit to recombine with Eddie to save his life. The symbiote was pregnant at the time and combining with Eddie again caused it to loose it’s child. It swore revenge against Spider-Man one day.

An Independent outfit in the Arctic recovered a fragment of Venom’s severed tongue. They cloned Venom with this. It is a symbiote that looks like Venom but has no host and is on the loose.

1 - Cable and Deadpool are fused? Jesus christ.

3 - So what happened to Jean Grey again?

5 - What’re the ramifications of this?

7 - The tragedy of the issue where Betty died is now horribly
ruined. FUCK YOU Marvel, seriously. STOP DOING THIS.

9 - How much more butchering are you gonna do to Spidey Marvel?

11 - He’s still trapped in his own dimension, and will forever be
unless Marvel EVER reuses him. Which is never.

13 - GAY. GOD damit, Marvel killed another character’s coolness.

Seriously, I’m beginning to hate Marvel now. SIGH!

 1. A Magneto imposter was using a drug called Kick to amp his powers. He was going to reverse the Magnetic Poles tossing all the humans and Mutants that where not in New York at the time into outer space. In the end, he used that power to attack Jean who was now ‘Phoenix like’ killing her, inducing something like a hyper heart attack. Having used up his powers and being drained, Wolverine decapitated him.

 2. Lots of Mutants are going through secondary Mutations. Beast became a cat thing, White Queen can shift to a Diamond Form. Archangel’s blood can heal mutants and so on. No one knows exactly what is sparking these secondary mutations. With Iceman, he’s more powerful than ever now from what I can tell, but he was very strong before this able to turn himself to water, and stuff, kind of like when White Queen took over his body and used his powers to their fullest extent back in the day.

 3. I agree 100%.

 4. The Spidey stuff isn’t so bad, a lot of the Green Goblin stuff Starcynski used to explain a few things. He explainied GG going after Gwen on the bridge incident because he had their children and kept them away from him in Europe. It also explained why GG faked his death and went to Europe of all places, because he raised the kids, but told them Spidey was their daddy and Spidey killed Gwen for his ultimate revenge. Gwen had sex with Norman Osborne one time because she pitied him in a way. It also came out that Peter Parker NEVER had sex with Gwen, oooh… I guess he’s only had sex with Black Cat and MJ, but that’s still one more than Superman! Seriously, Starcynski’s writing has helped soften the stupidest comeback of all time and that was of Norman Osborne. Geez Marvel, if you’re gonna bring somebody back to life, don’t wait 25 years! Now Spidey is all well and good but if the rumors pan out that Gwen Stacy is coming back to life I will drop the book and get my Spidey fix over at Avengers since Spectacular is ending too.

Spidey shooting webs without webshooters doesn’t bother me. It seems like Marvel’s new trend is to imitate the movies as much as possible. With the insect thing like I said, they are trying to make him like the new Antman for Avengers. I wonder if they’ll step his scientist role up too like AM? It might be unnecesary with Iron Man in the Avengers, but I’ve always felt the scientist aspect of Peter is always underplayed. Starcynski did a lot to bring it back, but the guy made web shooters when he was a teen! He should be making more stuff, we’ll see how this pans out.

Sorry for rambling, Spidey’s my favorite super hero! The years David Michelline was writing Spidey were still the best IMHO. After Ditko and Stan of course.

 1. This story wasn’t so bad, except I was confused when the symbiote actually cared about his child. The suit didn’t give a crap about Carnage, which is why when it gave birth it forgot about it a second later, didn’t tell Eddie because it didn’t care about giving birth. The “Venom and Carnage” story that’s prolly out of continuity seems to suggest that the symbiote cares about the preservation of his species, but that doesn’t compute since he didn’t care for his clone in the Arctic, but maybe he hates clones as much as us readers do? Ah well. It was a good story, but definitly not the be all and end to all in the scheme of great Venom stories. Starcynski hates Venom so he won’t show up in Amazing. We’ll see what happens to Venom in the future. He’s one of my favs so I’ll keep an eye out!

Ah, rambling again, but I’m a big Spidey freak and Marvel still hasn’t gotten me to give up on him. Anything’s beter than the clone story…

GG should have never been revived in the first place. His death was a hella great moment. even though his writing is good, I cannot forgive GG being brought back. Please keep Harry dead!

I actually like the organic web-shooter idea. It’s cooler, and it definitely makes him more “spider-like”.

As for Gwen’s kids, fine, I’ll soften my criticism.

The Venom series sucks. First few issues never even SHOWED him!!
Leaving Brock because he had cancer?

LAME.

I cannot forgive Marvel for messing him up.

Yeah, I agree with most of what you said. I’ll have the rest of the MVC2 cast soon after this Election stuff ends. Go Kerry!

So what now? Bush won. Whoopdie do. Anyhow, who else?

Due to the general hostility towards Marvel in the comic threads and the fact that I don’t even post in my own thread that often as of yet, I’ve decided to celebrate an X-comic that I feel that Marvel is doing quite well at… if only–I’m a pessimist/realist–for the moment: “New X-Men: Academy X”.

My point is that I’ll be attempting to “rank” (or whatever you call this trend of scoring) them according the numbers listed in sano’s book and what has been shown thus far. Ergo, you (two) should be remember that this is unofficial and subject not only to the change implied by that, but my memory, my bias, my observation, and my assumptions; the actual non-numerical stats will all come from uncannyxmen.net. So, basically, feel free to disagree with what I’m (and they are, if need be) saying.

I’ll try to do this by the main two teams and alphabetically:

Hellions III

Dust II
Real Name: Sooraya Qadir
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: Hellions Squad
Aliases: none
Nationality: Afghani
First Appearance: New X-Men #133

Powers: Convert herself into a destructive sand blast by simultaneously transforming the substance of her body into loose silicon particles and creating an explosive release at her center, expelling her sandy mass at high velocity in all directions, then cause her particles to reassemble themselves back into her human form.

Affiliations: X-Men Students, Special Class, Hellions III

Notes:

 • Dust I was a Dazzler villain.
 • Sooraya is an Afghani mutant and was rescued by Fantomex and Wolverine from a slave ring.
 • She is called Dust because the only word she at first said was turaab, which translates from her language as dust.

Damned Notes:

 • As seen in NXM:AX #6, it seems Sooraya can actually retain a somewhat humanoid form while turned into sand. She constantly has to disrobe and then re-robe every time she changes, though.
 • She is roommates with Noriko in relationship that isn’t too amicable, though it hasn’t been nearly as bitter and violent as Josh and Julian. The relationship soured quickly on the first meeting because of the issue of clothing.

Strength: 2 (assumed as for all of them)
Intelligence: 2
Energy Projection: 1
Fighting Skills: 2 (assumed, since we’ve seen various times that at least one of the Logans teaches martial arts, though I’m not sure whether or not the gi would prevent her as a Muslim. Anyone know much about Islam?)
Durability: 2 (as a human. I assume that she’s at least bulletproof as sand, but since that’s not the exact type of bullproof they mean–unless Shadowcat is a 5–then I’ll just omit that for now.)
Speed: 2
Mental Powers: 1
Stamina: 2 (assumed as for everyone)
Agility: 2 (assumed, especially considering that what she wears could either hinder her severely or show how graceful she is.)

Hellion
Real Name: Julian Keller
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: Hellions Squad
Aliases: none
Nationality: American
First Appearance: New Mutants (2nd series) #2

Powers: Telekinesis.

Affiliations: X-Men Students, Hellions III

Notes:

 • Julian became Hellion in New Mutants (2nd series) #10.
 • Julian is another student at Xaviers school but not in Dani Moonstars class.
 • He is attracted to Sofia but believes her roommate, Laurie, is a freak amongst freaks, which is why Sofia rejected his affections.
 • Julian chose his codename in honor of Emma Frosts late students, the Hellions.

Damned Notes:

 • Used to be best friends with Elixir until Rockslide informed Hellion that Elixir used to be a Reaver. Hellion is constantly hitting on Wind Dancer and calls her pet names.

Strength: 2
Intelligence: 2
Energy Projection: 5 (Unless telekinesis isn’t a recognized energy in the Marvel universe.)
Fighting Skills: 2
Durability: 2
Speed: 3 (Assumed since he can fly.)
Mental Powers: 5
Stamina: 2
Agility: 2

Mercury V
Real Name: Cessily Kincaid
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: Hellions Squad
Aliases: none
Nationality: American
First Appearance: New Mutants (2nd series) #2

Powers: Exists as a solid, mercurial substance that can discard her human shape and morph into a liquid form.

Affiliations: X-Men Students, Hellions III

Notes:

 • Identified and given a codename in New Mutants (2nd series) #10. Mercury I was a Greek god, II the Eternal Makkari, III the Element of Doom.
 • Cessily admires Wither and apparently is the only person he can touch.

Special Mixed Note:

 • Mercury IV was an amalagam X-Man construct that had was part of Cerebro’s All-New, All-Deadly X-Men decades ago. Mercury IV was a nanite construct created from a composite of various mutant files, and not a true human being.

Damned Note:

 • As she demonstrated in NXM:AX #4, she can touch (and kiss) Wither without ill-effect. - She is probably in a relationship with him at the moment, especially considering that’s a major factor in his joining the Hellions due to fact that she introduced Wither to them and Hellion stood up for him.
 • As she demonstrated in NXM:AX #6, she can probably manipulate her powers very similarly to T2 from “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”.
 • She seems to be so alike to actual mercury that she has a weakness to electricity as shown when Surge zapped her in NXM:AX #6. This means that she probably has a resistance to heat and is possibly poisonous to others over long periods of time.
 • She can morph her clothes with the unstable uniforms that were given to students, but she is otherwise unable to.

Strength: 2
Intelligence: 2
Energy Projection: 1
Fighting Skills: 2
Durability: 3 (at least)
Speed: 2
Mental Powers: 1
Stamina: 2
Agility: 2

Rockslide
Real Name: Santo Vaccarro
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: Hellions Squad
Aliases: none
Nationality: American
First Appearance: New Mutants (2nd series) #3

Powers: Granite body gives him superhuman strength, durability, and allows him to detach parts of his body as projectiles.

Affiliations: X-Men Students, Hellions III

Notes:

 • Santo was identified in New Mutants (2nd Series) #8, and given a last name and codename in #10.

Damned Note:

 • As the person that began the rivalry/hatred between Elixir and Hellion, he too hates Elixir.
 • He can probably, like Mercury V, touch Wither without ill-effect, though I doubt he would want to do so as intimately.

Strength: 4
Intelligence: 2
Energy Projection: 1 (yet he can shoot projectiles…)
Fighting Skills: 2
Durability: 3 (at least)
Speed: 2 (Assumed.)
Mental Powers: 1
Stamina: 3
Agility: 2 (Assumed.)

Tag
Real Name: Brian Cruz
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: Hellions Squad
Aliases: none
Nationality: Puerto Rico
First Appearance: New Mutants (2nd Series) #10

Powers: Pariah effect enables him to “tag” himself or others with a unique psi-signal, then mentally make other nearby people receptive to the signal, which overwhelmingly compels them to get away from the broadcaster.

Affiliations: X-Men Students, Hellions III

Notes:

 • Tag’s last name was revealed in New X-Men: Academy X #2.

Damned Notes:

 • He has to touch/“tag” a person for his power to take effect. The “it” person is then epicenter from which people, who Tag seems to be able to pick selectively, run hysterically; he is probably immune to his own power. It has not been shown yet whether or not this blind hysteria can be dangerous to the runners.
 • The safety distance seems to be rather nebulous one as this point, which is akin to much of Tag’s character.
 • For reasons unknown, Tag was either not pictured or not present when the Hellions III team was being formally introduced the first time.

Strength: 2
Intelligence: 2
Energy Projection: 2
Fighting Skills: 2
Durability: 2
Speed: 2
Mental Powers: 4 (Assumed. Despite the fact that it’s rather passive, the seeming degree of selectivity that is involved makes it more than weak to me.)
Stamina: 2
Agility: 2

Wither
Real Name: Kevin Ford
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: Hellions Squad
Aliases: none
Nationality: American
First Appearance: New Mutants (2nd series) #3

Powers: Death touch quickly reduces organic matter to a decrepit state, and ultimately to ash./ Trigger rapid cellular decay in organic matter on contact, giving it an aged and withered form and eventually turning it to dust.

Affiliations: X-Men Students, New Mutants II, Hellions III

Notes:

 • Kevin received his codename in New X-Men: Academy X #3.
 • Kevins mother died when he was born.
 • He is an accomplished industrial artist.

Special Mixed Note:

 • When his powers manifested, he accidentally killed his father, who tried to comfort him. Kevin killed his own father accidentally. He acquitted of it in NXM:AX #6, but is still understandably weary of touching people. This fear was exacerbated when Moonstar showed him worst fear of killing Wallflower, who he may or may not still possess feelings for, to stop Wither from destroying Pierced when he was incensed by the near death of Wallflower at Pierce’s knife-hand.

Damned Notes:

 • He still dislikes Moonstar and respects Emma, the latter being the one to convince him to come back in the first place.
 • He is most likely with the Hellions because of Mercury V, who he is probably dating. He also had been given support by Emma Frost, the instructor of the Hellions, and Hellion, the leader of the Hellions.

Strength: 2
Intelligence: 2
Energy Projection: 1 (Unless the decay is caused by some type of “negative energy” or entropy is some type of energy.)
Fighting Skills: 2
Durability: 2
Speed: 2
Mental Powers: 1
Stamina: 2
Agility: 2
New Mutants II

Elixir
Real Name: Joshua Foley
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: New Mutants Squad
Aliases: none
Nationality: American
First Appearance: New Mutants (2nd series) #5

Powers and Abilities: produce bio-molecular energy at will to affect organic matter he touches, allowing him to heal physical damage done to his body or the bodies of others, reactivate suppressed mutant abilities, repair cerebral functions, and alter the composition of his own molecules in certain ways; golden skin.

Affiliations: X-Men Students, New Mutants II

Notes:

 • Josh developed his new skin in New Mutants (2nd Series) #12. He became Elixir in New X-Men: Academy X #2.
 • Josh was a mutant-hater and a recruit for Donald Pierces Reavers when he suddenly manifested his powers.
 • After being critically injured by Wolfsbane, Josh used his healing powers on himself. However, not only was his health restored but his skin also turned golden.

Damned Notes:

 • It would seem as though whose writing it or allowing it loves the concept of Omega mutants, since Joshua is at least the second student that I know of that has been (most likely wrongly, though he is damned powerful) as such. The first that I know of was Quentin Quire.
 • He restored Wolfsbanes powers, after they had been turned off by Mystique.
 • He currently is a most likely taboo and definitely odd relationship with one of his instructors, Wolfsbane.
 • He was the bitter roommate of Prodigy and used to be best friends with Hellion. The roles have no switched, as David (still his roommate) is now his best friend and Julian hates Josh.

He saved Wallflower from dying when she stabbed from behind by Pierce.

Strength: 2
Intelligence: 2
Energy Projection: 2
Fighting Skills: 2
Durability: 4 (at least, possibly 6 at the most… unless he really IS Omega)
Speed: 2
Mental Powers: 1 (A really iffy thing since his powers ARE the unconscious reconstructions of entire anatomies.)
Stamina: 2
Agility: 2

Icarus
Real Name: Joshua Guthrie
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: New Mutants Squad
Aliases: none
Nationality: American
First Appearance: Rom Annual #3

Powers and Abilities: Red feathered wings allowing him to fly, regenerative factor in his blood, voice can simulate a multitude of singers at once.

Affiliations: X-Men Students, Hellions III, New Mutants II

Notes:

 • Jay became Icarus in New X-Men: Academy X #2.
 • Joshuas older siblings are Cannonball and Husk, both of whom have followed Xaviers cause for years.
 • Jays true love was killed by her own father when he discovered she was dating a mutant.
 • He stopped using the name Joshua, instead going by the nickname Jay now, partially to demonstrate that with his lovers death one important phase in his life has come to an end.

Damned Note:

 • Changed over to the New Mutants’ side when the Hellions, companied by a passionate and hot-headed Wind Dancer, went to attempt to “rescue” Wither from the FBI.

Strength: 2
Intelligence: 2
Energy Projection: 1
Fighting Skills: 2
Durability: 4 (at least, possibly 6 since I missed the recent Uncanny X-Men comics where he was empowered.)
Speed: 3 (Can fly.)
Mental Powers: 1
Stamina: 2
Agility: 2

Prodigy III
Real Name: David Alleyne
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: New Mutants Squad
Aliases: none
Nationality: American
First Appearance: New Mutants (2nd series) #4

Powers and Abilities: Psychomimetic power allows him to subconsciously scan and internalize the knowledge and skills of others, giving him the ability to duplicate any non-superhuman talent possessed by those nearby.

Affiliations: X-Men Students, New Mutants II

Notes:

 • Prodigy I was Spider-Man, II was a member of the Slingers. David became Prodigy in New X-Men: Academy X #2.
 • David first met Karma when she was still working as a librarian in Chicago.
 • While he has no intention of becoming a super-hero, David joined Xaviers school to protect his family from anti-mutant violence.
 • David has a younger sister and has come to see his roommate, Josh, as some sort of little brother, who needs to be watched over, as he is constantly getting in trouble.
 • David co-leads the New Mutants together with Sofia.

Damned Notes:

 • He used to hate Josh, which didn’t help much since he is roommates with him. He got over it though before NXM:AX began IIRC.
 • He is hinted to feel attraction towards Surge, who used to dislike him a great deal for the hypocrisy how he treated Josh and pitied her.
 • He is somewhat frustrated with his power and wants to learn things on his own since he can’t retain them.
 • He is now the unofficial leader of the squad with Sofia, though he opted to co-lead with her officially.

Strength: 2
Intelligence: 2*
Energy Projection: 1
Fighting Skills: 2*
Durability: 2
Speed: 2
Mental Powers: 3 (or 4, I can’t tell.)
Stamina: 2
Agility: 2* (only human though, so probably tops out at 4.)

Surge IV
Real Name: Noriko Ashida
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: New Mutants Squad
Aliases: none
Nationality: Japanese
First Appearance: New Mutants (2nd series) #8

Powers: Siphon off nearby levels of electrical energy, including static electricity and mechanical power sources, in order to build a charge that she can project as blasts from her hands or radiate from all sides, wears interface gloves that regulate her power flow.

Affiliations: X-Men Students, New Mutants II

Notes:

 • Identified as “Surge” in New Mutants (2nd Series) #9. Real name revealed in #10. Surge I was a She-Hulk character, II was a member of the Winter Guard.
 • Noriko ran away from her family and was living in the streets of Salem Center. She used drugs to hold her unstable powers in check.
 • While still living on the street, Noriko accidentally injured Luna, the waitress of the coffee shop the mutants regularly attend, and even stole from her. Currently, she is working at the coffee shop to work off her debt.
 • Her roommate is Afghani-born mutant Dust, though the two do not get along that well, their different views on womens role in society getting in the way every now and then.

Special Mixed Note:

 • Apparently Surge III was Mystique in the disguise.

Damned Notes:

 • Surge cannot control her powers. When she gets “full” of electricity, she uncontrollably release it in a huge burst if doesn’t lessen the amount through some type of use. She used to take drugs–or, using a less harsh word, pills–when on the street that either surpressed or let her control powers. She was given the gauntlets when take in by the school.
 • She possesses a weakness to water, at least as has been implied as the reason she couldn’t bathe when homeless. Unknown if that problem still exists.

Strength: 2
Intelligence: 2
Energy Projection: 5
Fighting Skills: 2
Durability: 2
Speed: 3
Mental Powers: 1
Stamina: 2
Agility: 2

Wallflower
Real Name: Laurie Collins
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: New Mutants Squad
Aliases: none
Nationality: American
First Appearance: New Mutants (2nd series) #2

Powers: Releases highly-potent airborne pheromones that affect the chemical balance in other people, creating responses to her presence like terror, anger, and physical attraction.

Affiliations: X-Men Students, New Mutants II

Notes:

 • Laurie became Wallflower in New X-Men: Academy X #2.
 • Laurie inherited her mutant powers from her father, who used them to seduce her mother. Once pregnant with Laurie, his powers no longer worked on her and she left him, never to have a relationship with another man ever again.
 • An accident at her high school outed her powers to her classmates, causing her to transfer to Xaviers school. However, with her powers severely not under control, she was very shy and withdrawn form the other students, an outsider among outcasts.
 • Sofia makes a perfect roommate for her, as, due to her wind powers, she doesnt have to fear being manipulated by Lauries pheromones.

Damned Notes:

 • Wallflower’s code name reflects her shyness, which is mostly due to the fact that her semi-inability to control her pheromones (she’s gotten them under control for the most part, unlike Surge, who needs the gloves) at first made her unsure whether she was forcing people to like and/or be attracted to her.
 • Wallflower often uses her power in combination with Wind Dancer, who is also her roommate.
 • Wallflower has had a crush on Elixir ever since they meant, which is when he saved her life.
 • Wallflower’s power seems able to effect non-humans like Rockslide, though due to his humanoid nature, it’s uncertain whether this means it works on non-humanoids as well…

Strength: 2
Intelligence: 2
Energy Projection: 1 (yet she can projectile her pheromones obviously…)
Fighting Skills: 2
Durability: 2
Speed: 2
Mental Powers: 1
Stamina: 2
Agility: 2

Wind Dancer
Real Name: Sofia Mantega
Universe/Timeline: Marvel Universe
Current Status: New Mutants Squad
Aliases: Sofia Barrett
Nationality: Venezuelan
First Appearance: New Mutants (2nd series) #1

Powers: Mentally direct air particles, allowing her to draw far-off sounds to her ears, disrupt the equilibrium of others with compressed air, lift herself off the ground, and create isolated whirlwinds or directed blasts of high pressure air.

Affiliations: X-Men Students, New Mutants II

Notes:

 • Sofia became Wind Dancer in New X-Men: Academy X #2.
 • Sofias mother was accidentally killed by rival gangs in Caracas, Venezuela. Sofia was sent to live in America with her father, Walter Barrett, who knew nothing about her. He placed her in a private school and forbade her to use her powers but, at one point, she rebelled and destroyed one of his super-market stores to gain his attention.
 • Sofia co-leads the New Mutants together with David.

Damned Notes:

 • Already the bastard child of a Venezuelan woman and an American business, upon her mother’s death, Sofia was forced to go live with her father, who eventually abandoned her again. His now ex-butler/servant, however, has a loving relationship with Sofia.
 • Sofia’s powers had manifested before her mother’s death. Her power is the very thing that brought her word of mother’s death.
 • Sofia is very passionate and emotive and thus impulsive enough to be only one on the team to use potentially life-threatening force readily, as exampled when she used “razor winds” against some of the Reavers. This passion only grew worse after teams were chosen and she was made leader, only to have her team lose their first exam and David being made the unofficial leader, though David wasn’t really keen on the idea himself. This prompted her to further impulsiveness and caused her to join up with the Hellions–minus Icarus–to go rescue Wither from the FBI. After the resolution of that, David and she discussed the issue of leadership and now she and he co-leader the squad, though Progidy is still the unofficial leader it seems… Whew.

Strength: 2
Intelligence: 2
Energy Projection: 1 (Does the wind count as energy?)
Fighting Skills: 2
Durability: 2
Speed: 3 (She can fly. However, since she uses the wind, she should have the exact same rating as Storm, and I’m not sure what that is. I think it’s 3, but I can’t be certain…)
Mental Powers: 1
Stamina: 2
Agility: 2
• varies.

Ye gods, that took a while. It didn’t help that it was supposed to be posted on last Thursday either, yet SRK refused to let me post anything that day.

And as long as we’re on this subject, sano? Do you have the ratings/rankings for Moonstar, Wolfsbane, Karma, Emma, and Cyclops (unless you’ve posted him already)?

EDIT: Ye gods, I can finally post after one week of not being able to.

EDIT II: Thanks sano.

Cyclops I did, I’ll do the rest.

So which one of the Hellfire members imprisoned Blackheart?

In fact, what the hell did they need him for?

Um… beats me? I’ll post what it says in the Marvel Encyclopedia later on since I don’t know squat about Blackheart.

Update on Magneto - It turns out Scarlet Witch’s Hexing power going nuts is what caused all of the events in Avengers Dissasembled. After Dr. Strange kicked her Ass, Magneto came to reclaim his daughter and take her away. So now, it looks like the Super Heroe community will know Magneto is alive. The X-Men should know since Beast was there too.

Damned - That was a hella interesting read, thanks! Marvel actually gave Dust II a Power Rating, so here’s her’s and your other requests.

DUST II (Note - there’s no mention of Dust I in the Encyclopedias.)

Intelligence - 2
Strength - 2

WOLFSBANE

MOONSTAR

KARMA

EMMA FROST (Formerly the White Queen. She has a secondary mutation where she can shift to diamond form and that has to do with her strength and durabilty rating being up there. While she’s in diamond form, she can’t use her Mental Powers BTW.)

Intelligence - 3
Strength - 5
Speed - 2
Durability - 5
Energy Projection - 5
Fighting Skills - 3

Continuing what the cast of MVC2 is up to -

 1. Gambit - His powers have returned. During a skirmish he’s been temporarily blinded. He may be developing a secondary mutation where he can see glimpses of the future, not sure what’s up with this new power.

 2. Psylocke - Still dead.

 3. Storm - She went out on a casual date with Wolverine. Nightcrawler got jealous as he’s developing feelings for her and Rachel Summers who he made out with. Nightcrawler’s come a long way since being a preist…

 4. Colossus - He’s alive. His corpse was found and revived. The body that was cremated was a copy placed after the switch.

 5. Spiral - Haven’t seen her in a long time but chances are she’s still dealing with the Hell Mojoworld is now. Over there they made X-Baby versions of the Age of Apocalypse Villains. While they looked cute, they vicously took over the world. Dazzler escaped and she’s in our world now, still no word on Longshot.

 6. Silver Samurai - Still the same. Waiting to get beat up by Wolverine or somebody…

 7. Omega Red - He was involved in a plot with Lady Deathstrike and Sabretooth to bring down Wolverine’s loved ones. In the end, Sabretooth betrayed Omega Red and Lady Deathstrike by ramming their heads together and knocking them out 3 Stooges style as he went to kill Wolverine solo!

 8. Sentinel - There was a comic where a kid was controlling a Sentinel AKA Iron Giant. Um… just remember the Sentinels for destroying Genosha, that’s the last cool thing they did. Oh, except for the ‘Chicken Sentinels’ put in the X-Men’s bloodstream by Cassandra Nova! But Chicken Sentinels are… CHICKEN SENTINELS! They is not cool… The Magneto imposter manipulated the Chicken Sentinels in Prof. X’s Body so Chuck could walk for a while, but what he gaveth he tooketh away…

 9. Iron Man - Has revealed his secret identity to the world(Captain America too, but I’m not sure how long ago it was that Cap did it while Iron Man did it fairly recently.) Iron Man was appointed U.S. Secretary of Defense. While addressing the UN, it seemed like he was drunk as he trashed the Latverian Representitive (That could of been Doctor Doom in disguise since the Rep didn’t talk or change his angry facial expression…) but it turns out he wasn’t drunk, that was Scarlet Witch’s Hex Powers going out of control hence this being another ‘Avengers Dissasembeled’ ramification. Anyway, Iron Man got fired. He’s supposed to join the new Avengers team and Bendis said he will hook his Iron Man suit up saying, “My Cell Phone can take pictures and this guy is still firing Repulsor Rays!”

 10. Blackheart - Trapped in the Hellfire Club’s basement. More on this later.

 11. Thanos - ? Still the same old Thanos I think?

 12. Rogue - Her powers are back, she can once again conjure up anyone’s powers she’s absorbed before.

 13. Sabretooth - Is working for the New Brotherhood of Evil Mutants under their new leader Exodus. Why? He’s getting paid for it of course!

 14. War Machine - I think he’s still a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent running missions for them worldwide.

No problem. I need to post more often in this thread anyway, considering that I created it.

Thanks for the ratings on your end.

I find it interesting, however, that Dust (II) no only has an entry, but has a durability rating of 3. I can scarcely come up with anyway to justify that, unless she either automatically heals every time she transforms, which doesn’t seem all the likely unless it playts into the aspect of why her power fatigues her so much. …Or, it could be perhaps be the fact that she’s pretty much immune to most weapon damage (besides flamethrowers and explosives of course) and they just compromised her normal rating with the bulletproof one.

Yeah, Dust (II) got a rating because she was a student during Morrison’s run, all of them got Ratings. The new book she’s in is too new for everyone there to get ratings yet.

How did Dust (II) become a Hellion after being a Xavier student?

Yet another tragic death made null and void. Xavier was rumored
dead how many times? Same for Jean. And Cable. And Cyclops.
And blah blah, blah…

And to think, he beat the hell outta the X-Men in his first appearance. Sigh

Here’s what the Marvel Encyclopedia said about Blackheart’s current whereabouts.

“Blackheart later resurfaced as a member of Selene’s revamped Hellfire Club. The Fantastic Four, aided by Hellstorm and Margali Szardos, managed to defeat Blackheart and trap him in the Club’s basement. It is safe to assume that Blackheart will return to menace mankind again.”

So yeah, a few more people were involved in Blackheart’s capture. I gotta stop relying on my swiss cheese memory…

Okay then. I will accept the defeat.

Update on Iron Man - After the fiasco at the UN, people refuse to believe Tony Stark and Iron Man are the same so his identity is secret once again!

Just got the Fantastic Four Marvel Encyclopedia. Now I can update what Doctor Doom and Thanos are up to. Hurray!

Doctor Doom - Mr. Fantastic created a prison for Doom that was impossible for him to escape from. He switched bodies with Thing for a little while to escape, but he’s back behind bars devising his inevitable escape.

Thanos - Death’s made him Immortal so he can’t die and will never embrace Death, ouch! (This little tidbit may be old but it’s news to me.) The rest of Thanos I’ll quote the Encyclopedia -

“Thanos now considers himself to be beyond good or evil, and has spent most of his time since losing the guantlet and questing for knowledge; he has even assisted Earth’s heroes against the Magus, Goddess, Thanosi (nihilistic Thanos hybrids of his own creation), and Ankhenaten. However, he still longs to regain Death’s favor, despite her disregard of him.”

BTW, a few years back when Deadpool was temporarily dead for a while, he was having sex left and right with Death! So she likes Deadpool not Thanos, double ouch!

Truth be told, she looks kinds hot when she’s not a skeleton.

So he’s now immortal? Wow. Way to boost up this guy’s power even more Marvel. An unkillable villain? Granted he said he’s beyond
both, but that won’t last long.

The Iron Man thing is friggin’ hysterical though.

And I thought Dr.Doom was trapped in Hell? Oh well, whatever
the case, I’m glad he’s still back.
