Yeah, but am I gonna have to wait six issues for my almost MVC2 Avengers Team to join up! ACK! Once again, I’ll be patient…
Just seems like they are going all Identity Crisis in the beginning, trying to make loosers like Elektro and Purple Man cool again. I was expecting something bigger like Kang coming back to get the new seven to unite or something but I guess that’s down the line. I suppose the Super Villain Jail Break is big, but big enough for Marvel’s biggest 2004 shocker of this new line up? We should see the entire Wrecking Crew and Carnage since Spider-Woman said they are on Lock Down, so MAYBE. ARGH! Well, it’s too early to pass judgement on anything, and I usually expect Issue 1’s to give you instant gratification since that’s what they do all the time. The Issue felt more like Avengers Issue 50X whatever than an Issue 1. Still, I like Bendis’ writing and I trust him so I’ll definitly be buying every issue. Now it’s up to Bendis to prove me wrong with the next 5 issues, and he prolly will.
Captain America
Spider-Man
Wolverine
Hulk (smart Hulk like he was in the games)
War Machine
Psylocke (she ain’t dead in “sano reality” gosh darn it!)
Spiral (hey man, if White Queen and Juggernaut can reform, why not Spiral! Being on the same team with Psylocke since they hate each other can only lead to catfights… Yippee!)
Now, if we are allowed to use anyone from MVC2, heh, heh, heh. Going with ten.
Ryu
Chun-Li
Megaman
Strider
Jin Saotome
Captain America
Spider-Man
Wolverine
Hulk
Spiral
And what’s the name of that looser Avengers team? The Great Lakes Avengers I think? Anyway, here ya go, Great Lakes Avengers LOOSERS team! (some will be from previous Capcom Marvel Games)
Norimaro - leader
Dan
Amingo
US Agent
Orange Hulk
Spidey-Armor - Armor becomes sentient and works on it’s own!
Shadow Lady Chun-Li - Nothing against Evil Chunners but the team needs one girl even if she’s a robot. Expect a hott romance between Shadow Lady and Spidey Armor!
According to the Marvel Universe Book regarding Avengers, War Machine is retired, so I guess he’s not working for SHIELD anymore. They list Spider-Woman 2 (Julia) as retired as well, the book considers not being a Super Hero anymore being retired. Well, Julia lost her powers but all Rhodes would have to do is put the costume back on or get a new one.
X-Men and Avengers are gonna have a crossover, written by Joss Whedon and Bendis. DAMN. Now I gotta read Whedon’s issues to get the full story? Well, if it’s like current Marvel crossovers, no I won’t have to.
They’re also gonna have a Young Avengers Comic. It even features a young Hulk. WHAT THE???
OT - IDW is making Castlevania Comics!
Sage psyched out blind Gambit into making out with her making her think she was Rogue. Sage used her ability to bring out latent pwers to make Gambit see again. Wow, since Gambit’s been with Rogue he’s tongued down Storm and Sage. Sage was a mistake but not Storm. I think the person who gave Gambit his ultra low rating was an angry feminist at Marvel. :nunchuck:
Gambit can see again! Don’t you just love a Christmas miracle! :wonder:
From what I read the comic’s going to tell the history of the Belmonts, so we should get Simon Belmont in there. He’s my favorite. Second is Alucard(though not a Belmont), third is Rictor, fourth is Trevor.
The New Avengers Mansion is going to be a huge building like the Baxter Building and will have residents living within. Set to move into the building is Mary Jane and Aunt May along with Petey and this will also be featured in Amazing Spider-Man. Wow, pretty shocking, this has never been done before, I’m excited!
Dr. Doom is dead, not exactly sure why or how but we all know this won’t last long.
In Issue one of Pheonix Song, looks like Jean Grey made her comeback. Well, that’s what it looks like at least. The Phoenix from space came down and ressurected her copse.
And why I said Sentry is the man - In Avengers #2, he flew Carnage up to outer space and ripped him in half! I hope that’s the last we see of Carnage. All we need is Venom IMHO.
Since Damned was talking about X-23 before, the first issue of her own series comes out this week. This character that originated from the X-Men Evolution Cartoon sure has become Hella popular.
Here’s the deal with the recent Venom story lines. It basically happens like this. When the Ararat Corparation created the Venom clone, they did so in the intent of wiping out mankind. When the two Venom symbiotes merged, the suit “evolved”, and also became pregnant. This new spawn is hinted at the destruction of all life on Earth. That’s why Venom has been heavily feeding on adrenaline.
The only problem is that in Spectacular Spiderman 5, Venom tells Spidey that it is now permanently bonded with Brock. Yet in Marvel Knights Spiderman, Brock willingly gives the suit to a new host in exchange for inner peace and slits his own wrists.
So now the answers lie in the future of the current MK Spidey arc. Let’s hope for some good shit today.
Wow, I completly missed out on Marvel Knights Spider-Man. I’ll have to back track and get those issues but prolly not today. It’s SF Eternal Challenge Day!
Thanks for that. The two symbiotes merged and became pregnant and the child had ‘Antichrist’ potential? That explains why he cared about the baby which confused me because it didn’t care at all when it birthed Carnage, not even telling Eddie about it. So, pending this month’s issue it looks like Eddie Brock is dead but not the Symbiote I see.
:lame: That’s all there is to say. Good job Marvel, way to kill
both Venom & Carnage’s origin. At least Carnage is dead now.
Dammit, Venom’s shitty book is still out though.
New X-Men 3 - Spidey’s identity is not revealed to the world since he looks like an Average Joe. Well, worked in the second Movie, LOL! The entire team is set in place except for Sentry and Wolverine.
Uncanny X-Men - Psylocke update: She’s Alive!
Rogue who now doesn’t have her Ms. Marvel Powers and only has absorption abilities was given a new Power Rating in the Marvel Encyclopedia Comic for the Marvel Women of 2005. She’s supposed to get her Ms. Marvel powers back so when that happens refer to her old rating. I’ll put her new rating up later on.
Went back to read the Spidey Marvel Knights trade paperback to catch up on Venom. There’s yet another Marvel continuity slip up, and this is a really stupid one. Cain Marko AKA the Juggernaut was at the auction for the Venom suit. He’s an X-Men now, and to know this all you’d have to do is look at the covers of X-Men comics for the last 2 years for christs sake. Why the Hell would he be there with all those villains?
:lame:
The only way I can explain it is that this happened when he was pretending to be evil with Black Tom. So Marvel, please send me my No-Prize.
Anyway, from what I read Venom slit his wrists and might not make it through the night. Still an off chance that the suit will recombine with him and he doesn’t die. The entire Knights/Venom story seemed kind of pointless to me… but it was written very well, I’ll say that much. I don’t know who wants to see anyone with the symbiote other than Eddie Brock, let alone that looser who got the suit for a minute.
Frank Cho of Liberty Meadows pencils in that issue were amazing! He’s one of my favorite artists. This month he drew Shanna the She-Devil, um… there’s some nice… use of perspective in the book. :badboy:
Thanks! But darn it, that site doesn’t have Shuma Gorath! @#$%?!!! Ah well, here’s Rogue’s new rating anyways from the Marvel Universe book of the Woman of Marvel 2005. And on that site, they still have Rogue’s older rating so sano is still ahead of the game, heh, heh!
Yeah, Marvel didn’t do Power Ratings for Ultimates. It only mentions them in some of the Encyclopedias and that’s it. I never cared for the Ultimates line myself, I’m not starting continuity over in my head! And sooner or later, Ultimate continuity will get too convuluted and they’ll have to start another universe… The DC All Star books, their version of Ultimates sounds much more interesting. Well, I’ll only buy the Jim Lee/Frank Miller Batman and Robin book 'cuz Jim Lee’s drawing it and I’ll just pray Frank Miller can channel the way he used to write and not the way he writes now AKA that garbage he tried to pass off as Dark Night 2.
Oh, and the unofficial DC Ratings are pretty cool. Can’t comment on the accuracy since I’m more of a Marvel person. Thanks! Now let’s hope someone will make a Marvel vs. DC Fighting Game someday…
