this is based on Bruce Lee before he wrote The Tao of Jeet Kune Do. most accounts of their fight say it was a draw or bruce won; the camp that said Bruce won claimed the fight lasted a few minutes, the Draw camp say it was 40 minutes. Bruce won camp sounds more realistic.
it’s been said that he was cocky and a troublemaker before he started the Tao so I guess it’s kind of OK they show his character like this. the fighting looks shit though, and bordering on Kung Pao, but I want to see this film to see how they handle the characters
I knew Bruce was cocky and self-assured…but this makes him look downright assholic. Maybe the actual characterization in the movie is more…even-keeled than what the trailer shows.
It looks like an entertaining enough movie. Even if it takes several liberties with history. Had they not tried to go for the Bruce lee or historical association and, just had them be their own, original characters. How would you feel then?
Yes i’ve always found the score of the original to be inspirational and, very well done. The composer did the score for Bloodsport as well, which was also very memorable. Both are perfect gym material while working out.
Bloodsport Vengence…urgggghhh. That was amateur hour film-making right there. Clearly showing that very little respect was given to the original movie. Or else it would have had a script and a director worth two-shits.
So many filmmaking 101 screw-ups made there. When you’re watching and are honestly confused as if you’re seeing a flashback or the present? You know you’ve got problems. Plus storytelling, build-up, tension, etc. All poorly done. JCVD’s presence was wasted.
