The Martial Arts Movie Thread 2017 Donnie hates his fans

Saw Ip Man 3. Loved it. Also went to a Q&A with Donnie Yen right after and I was furious at some of the questions these idiots were asking. We had Donnie for a limited amount of time and you have dumb fucks wasting everyone’s time asking questions he already answered and stuff like “What kind of gwai lo are you going to fight in Ip Man 4?” The moderator even went out of his way to give a girl a chance to ask a question and she goes “CAN I HAZ A PICTURE?”

did you go to the same premiere with andy le and crew?

Mike Tyson did an hilarious interview with Donnie Yen a couple of days ago for Extra on stage fighting. I forgot how good Donnie’s English is, why did he never break Hollywood?!

Yeh theres that but even Jackie has seen more fame and he could barely string a sentence together. FFS they gave Sammo a TV show that ran for 2 years and he couldn’t string two words together. Maybe it’s just the slap stick fighting style was a safer bet.

thats because sammo and jackie are geniuses, just look at their choreography, nothings touching it. they are the most recent buster keaton, charlie chaplin

Donnie Yen looks like a weaselly white dude in yellow face, nobody wanna see that shit in hollywood.

Nah Andy and Brian went to the one the day before that also had Mike Tyson. Wish I got to go to that one

ya i saw that they got to perform for them. i finally got a martial club shirt over the summer.

Donnie Yen was smart, when all the top dogs left for Hollywood, all there was left was pop singers with really really long hair doing kung fu.

He said that he doesn’t want to hollywood since it meant relocating with his family

My respect for him just increased when he said that

I would’ve asked Donnie that question at the QnA if we didn’t have a bunch of retards wasting our time asking dumb shit…

Check out this just released five minute short action samurai flick by Gareth Evans that takes place during a time of civil war. He’s the same guy that worked on The Raid and the Netflix Daredevil series (including the single-shot fight sequence early in the first season).

Vid aint working dude.

Then click on the link and watch it on YouTube. Embedding has been disabled for that video.

aren’t these guys working on star wars? get some lightsabres in there, stat.

just click on the youtube button

Meh… if you want to see sword fighting done right watch “The Legend Ends”.

I wasn’t really impressed that much by it myself but it needs lightsabres for the fact that the group is doing star wars. that short + star wars = episode 8 preview

So they will be in episode 8? I take it that didn’t die in episode 7?

The Samurai short looks pretty sweet w/ nice energy to it. It has a classic look but not sure about the choreography. Its a bit too modern for me, if you’re going w/ black n/ white like the old school chambara films, its usually ends quite quickly. The fights were way too long, could have used more tension too.

Still i would really love to see Evans complete this. It would be neat if the whole film has no dialogue. I think having Indonesians talk would be too distracting.

If Boyka can be saved so can you!! Repent!
