Gonna check out this show Banshee, since I’ve seen it dropped here a few times.
Watching the first ep of Banshee. That Bar Fight was bloody as hell. It kind of reminds me a bit of that movie The Guest.

Been watching Banshee. Holy shit at that Albino dude. All in all the fights are decent. I was disappointed how Anna beat Oleg, but whatever. Its good so far, some of the fights are kind of dumb though.

No. I knew the ass whooping was coming. Honestly she kind of irks me. But I thought Oleg had her beat. I mean she got her ass kicked. And the fight went on for so long that it was just getting annoying. Plus hasn’t Oleg been training for way longer? I liked the mma rapist vs the sheriff though he took him to snap city lol. Also how he got albino nigga. Shit was brutal.
So Wolf Warrior humm. Gonna give it a 5/10 but will recommend you guys check this out. Good looking out there Rock, there was only 1 copy out there but it was perfect, came with 3 different subs etc.
Story is Wu Jing is a bad ass sniper, kills the brother of drug overlord whom promptly sends his boys (a curiously credited Scott Edwards Adkins) to get revenge.
Story got many vibes going on, it starts of like what Battlefield/Transformers did with the US, show off military might, talk that propaganda shite etc then quickly turns in a cat and mouse game between Jing/Adkins as their super teams square off against each other and take each other down. Movie has a heavy Predator vibe as well, mainly set in the jungle, lots of stealth kills and creeping about. Movie has its own Hans Zimmer as well blasting epic music and the explosions/effects etc are good enough to keep the flick outta B movie territory.
That said, some of the set pieces dont make sense, the music by and large is just fucking annoying. The dialogue is terrible and will make you feel embarrassed. Really we talking about Expendables level of “yea am the hardest nigga on the planet but I love you bro” type shit. Tone of the movie was brutal but not dark enough to make it really work.
I think with a better director the movie would be worth more hype, but for a Chinese big time action movie its definately something. Its kinda like Chinese Rambo but you dont buy into the drama. Also Adkins lol took a dive on this shit, paycheck then sleep, he doesnt even bother with an accent and hes meant to be American. He does bring enough crazy kicks when hes not shooting guns though.
Movie aims really high but just doesnt quite get there, glory to the PLA! Oh yea that Maggie chick from Expendables 2 is in it too. :*

She was stabbed in the stomach though. I don’t know it was like the moment he made that comment about her being a woman I was like “here we go, now she is going to body him”. So I guess for me it was like that stab wound to the stomach really didn’t take effect until the fight was over. I appreciate the brutalness of the fights and all that, its just some of it seemed like it was going for the shock of a brutal fight.
Also the ex Amish gangster practicing on the wooden dummy was funny.
Also I was annoyed at how she knows all this shit but was struggling against that biker. But went to town on Oleg. I like the show, it’s just there are some inconsistencies that bugged me.
Watched Dragon Blade last night…
Yea that Jacky Chan, Cusack and fucking Brody mix up. Well fuck it ill keep it short it is fucking awful and I wished I didnt bother cause now that nigga Jacky Chan is definately dead to me. I will say however, and this is weird as hell, Cusacks sword fighting in this movie was sublime, like this motherfucker been taking some lessons, easily some of the coolest sword fighting ive seen in a movie, that aside, everything else is completely trash and probably racist to white, black, asian dudes everywhere.
I thought the movie was ok. The sword fighting was excellent cusacks and brody were going some gladiator shit. My only complaint really was another fucking annoying crying kid.
Finally caught up with Banshee.
All in all the show is good, but there are some things that annoy the shit out of me.
Mainly when the show tries to look cool it ends up looking corny. And also how certain characters are inconsistent. Mainly with Ana. I mean she somehow almost gets raped by some low level biker and is struggling against him, but is bodying actual trained soldiers. It’s like I could believe it a bit more if they actually showed how she got her training so I could understand where her skills came from.
The characters I liked were:
Burton
Chayton
Job
That Indian chick that fought burton
Bunker.
I would have loved to see burton vs chayton though. Fight would have been dope.
Like I said the show is cool. There were a few times where I was ready to quit it, but it got good. Curious to see what happens to bunker though. Dude is legit nuts.
One of my favorite fights involving Ana was when her and Gordon when to pick up Deva at that party house. It was probably viewed as small potatoes but I liked how they just forgot all about their issues and just went in there bodying bammas. Bunker might be on some Punisher shit next season twards his brother.

Yeah bunker is going to destroy the brotherhood. After what they did to him, he is going to go full punisher mode on them.
Was a bit salty about Job though. The show most definitely had its issues, but I’m glad I stuck with it.
Caught The Eagles Killer again late at night a couple days ago. Jang Lee Hwang aka Thunderleg aka The Silver Fox was the man, man (hence the new avatar). Man I love badly dubbed old martial arts movies.
What I didn’t know about him until I looked him up on IMDB was that he actually legit killed a guy in self defense when he was teaching TKD in the army.
Apparently some Vietnamese knife fighter was talking shit saying knife fighting would beat any unarmed martial art, to which Hwang respectfully disagreed. Well the knife guy tried to stab Thunderleg in the back but got caught with a single kick to the temple and died right there.
Serves him right for attacking like a coward.
Edit: Holy shit he even killed Bolo Yeung in a movie. This dude kicks ass!
Yea I remember seeing him in that documentary about the top 10 MA stars of all time, Top Fighter years ago and ofcourse it made me realise he was a somebody and not just a random mook in No Retreat No Surrender, I went back and caught a bunch of his movies. Dude is one of the few out there that makes TKD seem like a hetro thing.
He’s the dude who really got me interested in kicking as a kid. I used to be able to do some of those flying triple kicks.
Uhhh guys. I just heard Iko Uwais has a “significant” role in the new Star Wars. Any idea if this is confirmed or not? Seems too good to be true.
God I hope he’s doing choreography for the fights.
