It’s been a minute since I posted anything due to martial arts training and Dragon’s Crown, but I gotta give this thread a bump (S/O to Angel Palm for starting this thread).
These were waiting on my porch when I got home from picking up Dragon’s Crown. Granted I am exhausted and am coming down with a cold, I am really excited to have something to occupy my time this weekend.
Crackle is getting a 90 minute exclusive martial arts/action film starring entitled Extraction staring John Foo (forced to fight), Vinnie Jones (Snatch, Gone in 60 Seconds) and Danny Glover. To read more on the film head over to City on Fire
Scot Adkins and Wu Jing have started filming a fight scene in China. Below are some photos of the scene and you can read the story at Film Combat Syndicate.
jon foo is one of the guys who got me into stunts…hence i was hyped for tekken…then quickly saddened. glad to see he’s back to his roots
im kinda curious wtf a double leg aerial sidekick is…cause if its what i think it is…yeah he would need wires since he aignt super acrobatic. contrary to popular belief most stunt mens most advanced move is like a full or corkscrew.
I saw that Amazon has Kill Zone (Donnie Yen) on sale for Blu Ray for $7.65. I think it is most definitely worth the purchase. I think I may have to order it myself. Head over to Amazon to check it out.
Sorry for the mass posts, but I think Sly is trying to do too much with the Expendables series. Now he is casting Harrison Ford to be in the movie and wants to make it even better than (wait for it)… The Raid: Redeption. First of all if you want to do that then don’t cast Harrison Ford, cast some actual martial arts stars. I mean I’d rather have Sammo Hung, Chow Yun Fat, Tony Jaa or Donnie Yen. I mean he got it right by having Chan, Snipes and Sutherland, but Ford feels like a stretch. I would have loved to see Carl Weathers in it (Apollo Creed, Action Jackson). Anyway sorry for the rant, here is the lengthy article about the whole thing. http://www.cityonfire.com/jackie-chan-joining-the-cast-of-the-expendables-3/
I can see Harrison Ford going Ham with dat whip…Shit would be glorious…Expendables is only good because of the characters charisma. The action has always been mediocre at best. It always has been the cast that makes the film & the action is what kind makes it a subpar run of the mill action film…
I hope Van Damme comes back as his twin brother with his black silk underwear, would be a good inside joke for Double Impact fans! Alan Rickman played his villain roles to the T. Kurt Russel should be in it too, Mel Gibson, Seagal, & Apollo Creed is the only ones left from the 80s action stars. Oh yeah Marc Singer as the Beastmaster that should cover it.
No dumbass, stop trying to put shit in your gay anime terms. You do realize that Martial arts movies can actually have a good story right? Shit, you probably think Fearless and Reign of Assassins are* SLICE OF LIFE* shows because it has people doing mundane task and actually interacting with people in everyday conversations lol.
Stop being such a weird ass japanophile my dood. seriously.
So the Sequel to Kill Zone (Donnie Yen/Sammo Hung/Jacky Wu Jing) is in pre production. There is also a rumor saying that Tony Jaa is supposed to be in the sequel as well. Like I said it is a rumor, but I think it is a publicity stunt from Chinese Films. Either way check it out over at City on Fire.
my fav samurai tv show of all time…and one of my fav tv show period, in general.
Abarenbo Shogun.
anybody know where I can get the series with English dub? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DA7LpfOINrI
So apparently Scott Adkins has auditioned for the role of Batman in the Superman/Batman movie. Not too much more is known, but dude is films really good fight scenes, so we could see what happens. Head over to Scot Adkins’ website to see what he is talking about.
Who knows man. But he films great fight scenes. Honestly in the history of Batman movies, someone has either played a great Bruce Wayne and a Terrible Batman, or vice versa, so it could work out? I’d like to see someone with actual martial arts skills play Batman (as well as other heroes/villains with martial arts training).
So there is a new movie coming out focusing on Wong Fei Hung entitled Rise of Legend. It is reported that Row Chow will be filming it. Check out Film Combat Syndicate for more details.
