The first Man with the iron fists was pretty terrible all-around. Just pure crap.

Hi guys, first time in this thread. Not sure why as it should be one of my stickies…
So recommend me some stuff please. Movies I really liked (for the martial arts): Jet Li Fist of Legend and Black Mask plus some of the once upon a time in China films (specially the one with club foot cos it was cool and funny as hell). I think I saw ip man 1 and loved it. Not sure if I saw 2… Tony Jaa films obviously (only seen the first two I think- one chasing the elephant the other chasing the statue head). Jackie Chan films are ok too, though I guess his time has passed now.
Hmm what else. Ever seen one called the Scorpion King (NOT the one with Dwayne whatever) where the baddie was some dude who only used his legs? Another one I saw ages ago called Red Sun Rising just cos the baddie seemed cool. Saw it again recently and it was ok I guess.
Anyway, I’ve seen a lot of names mentioned in this thread which I know nothing about. So please recommend.
What’s even funnier is that I didn’t put up the other trailer which has George Takei as the villian. LOL!!!

You can watch the other Jaa movies but they really aren’t that good imo. I think they did things that I would consider “Asia cool” but in reality it is really corny? If you are looking for classic movies I can offer a different list for that.

in my opinion jackie chan/sammo/yuen films are head and shoulders above all martial arts films, they are the first and best mixed martial arts films

That movie was not hype…and the damn thing was released TWICE, a second time in 2012 with some scene changes/reshoots as “Red Canvas”. I forget what it was the first time, but I was pissed to see it was nearly the same lackluster film I saw 3 years previously being billed as a new release. It was like kof xii if kofxiii was only SLIGHTLY better but still as boring as kof xii.
