The Martial Arts Movie Thread 2017 Donnie hates his fans

I hate the english dub though, i still have Drunken Master 2 on VHS at my parent house haha

In regards to seeing TYG2 stateside you all may want to check and see if there are any indie movie theaters in your area. I know we have on in our city that is good about playing foreign films (I saw Banky’s “Exit through the Gift Shop” when it came out in Europe here in Cincy). i am actually gonna check and see if it is coming to our indie theater, then I will check in other cities as well. If possible I will actually try to get a petition going to see if they will want to get it. Figured that could be an idea for you all as well.

I feel you on the English dub. I am not a fan of it either (especially since Chan dubs himself?) but I enjoyed the movie and the fight scenes for the most part. May pick it up, but I am on the fence. I may have to crack open this Wu Tang collection and see what it’s about.

Seriously Rza, stop trying to put yourself in martial movies dude. I laughed so hard at Gi Joe.

Rza or Keanu who will win?

I have my money on rza. I know he actually went to shaolin. Plus he is from the projects so he may know a little somethin. That can be an idea for the next def jam vendetta game.

Plus Neo still thinks he is in the Matrix and can’t seem to cope with acting like a regular guy, so yeah Rza got him.

Just got Snake in the Eagle Shadow & Police Story in today…Just got done watching the ending of Police Story! Still one of the best finale of all time, DVD was bit grainy though…Going to watch Eagle Shadow this weekend, its been over 20years since i’ve seen it!

International trailer for 47 Ronin. Keanu Reeves really needs to take some yoga classes and loosen up. If he wasn’t so stiff he could maybe pull off a decent fight scene.

So I just cracked open the BR of Tom Yum Goong 1. I will probably write a review for it later, via my tumblr.

Anyway I came across this short film called Profile in Darkness, which is a horror/thriller/martial arts film. It’s…interesting to say the least. The fight scenes were… well you have to see for yourself. I will give them an A for effort because we all have to start somewhere, but yeah…

I may have posted this in the old thread but I’m excited that they are making a third installment of the Crows Zero series. The first two movies were too good. Here are the trailers for one and two. Both movies remind me of Project Justice/Rival Schools meet The Warriors.

glad someone else thought of rival schools when they watch crows zero

Good ol’ Takeshi Miike with his dope movies.

Well in other news, apparently Kristen Stewart (yes the broad from the Twilight series) is a martial arts expert… Apparently she has been studying martial arts since she was 5 years old. So for her next role she may be doing some martial arts in it. Honestly, just read the article and tell me what you think. This was literally the last thing I read before I went to sleep, so needless to say, I went to sleep slightly annoyed. But who knows, she may be actually decent?

Best fight scene ever has to be between Jacky Chan and a young Benny Urquidez in Meals on Wheels

I love this vid for it, slow mos and instant replays, the fight was a heartbeat away from becoming real as Jacky was hitting his major star ego at the time and didnt like how the great white fighter in history was beating his shit. Benny blowing out the candles with his kick was real, and to this day is fecking awesome.

They had another fight in Dragons Forever but wasnt as sweet. Yup for true awesome martial art fights HK 80s was where it was at.

Everyone was in top form in Wheels on Meals. Such a good movie. Sweet fight scenes.

I thought the Dragons Forever one was better…Just the build up of Yuen Biao going acrobatic on everyones ass.

One of my favorite kung fu fights has got to be the Martial Club…Wang Lung Wei is truly an unsung hero in the MA movie world. Usually playing the heavy or main villain…This fight here in one of his rare good guy roles…

I had this video on VHS many moons ago, but its great if you wanna catch on on the some of the true unsung heros. The link takes you to part 1 and its easy enough to navigate through the rest. Its called Top Fighter and is an old documentary.

This introduced me to Huang Jan Lee in particular, the guy has INSANE kicks and to the top tier of HK he was regarded as the best at what he did, no Bruce Lee nuthugging going on at all. Anyways check it out and learn some history lads, most of these guys are worth scouting out for intense fight scenes.

None of this Scott Adkins bullshit, damn I feel sorry for kids these days.

Dragons Forever dub has the best 1 liner in movie history, the scene where Jacky and some random chick are having dinner and a goon says to her “Keep your mouth shut you stupid bitch!” before making her taste backhand. Uber lols.

she probably went to a mcdojo and got her blackbelt in 2 years.

please dont call her a martial arts expert because a shitty blog does. look at her, do you really believe in calling her any type of competent martial artist? slap ya self please. if you cannot do at least ten chinups (stares at kristen stewart), youre not even an 1/8th of the way to being physically great at much of anything. haha. i know she didnt say it, someone else did, but it still grinds my gears.

I bet the bitch would get her ass worked in fights with Sara Michelle Gellar (bodied), and even that Kruek (starts with good blocks, kicks, and counters, turns into ground and pound dat ass) hoe.
