The MarsGatti Farewell/Peace Out Thread

http://forums.xbox.com/1065/ShowForum.aspx

I’m ashamed to be European. Look through almost any of those threads if you want some laughs and lost brain cells.

It’s a shame the xbox.com forums is just a Euro troll site now, it used to be really fun back in the HF on XBLA days.

Subject change alert:
So I was watching some of the horribly cheezy Masters of the Universe movie (the one with Dolph Lundgren as He-Man) on Cinimax over the weekend. It was like a car wreck I couldn’t look away from, LOL. At the least the dude playing Skeletor was trying (maybe trying a little too hard).

It got me thinking that He-Man had the all-time coolest villians. Skeletor was just freaking cool looking. Beast-Man was nothing special, but Mer-Man and Tri-clops were awesome! And then there was Battle-Cat, freaking coolest mode of transportation ever. And what better place to for all these action figures to duke out than Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain.

Toys were just so much cooler back then.

That’s before my time, but I’ve seen the some of the cartoons, and I gotta say. . .

The cartoons had a strong homo feeling to them.

Any smack talk about He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is punishable by instant death…

Okay, so real quick side trip. I know its some ways away, but Ghaleon is one of the organizers of Season’s Beatings and SB5 will be sometime in the fall of 2010. He’s going to put in alot of effort to make sure that SB is not just a SF4 homo show and that every one who comes, even those not for SF4 feel like they’re getting something. I guess a common complaint at tournaments is that non SF4 players basically feel like they get crapped on, and I think its true, so right now, I’m encouraging every HDR player within a 12 hour drive of Columbus, OH to make sure you show up and show that SF4 may be the biggest kid on the block but it sure isn’t the only one!!!

Alright back to our regularly scheduled nonsense…

Does anyone still play HF on XBLA? I kinda want to try it out, but have the majority of the players left for HDR or IV?

I believe we got around 60 entries for HDR at the last SB, including Damdai and De Mavrick from the east coast and DGV from Cali. And some guy from Japan named Daigo, or something like that.

Ghaleaon is a cool guy and him and Fugee do a great job with SB, it really is a major tourney.

Edit: Arch - You pretty much have to make arrangements ahead of time to play anyone on HF anymore. I’d be more than happy to play some HF with you on XBLA, or, preferably, on GGPO.

So I have to ask, is there any interest in this NBA finals at all? I mean, living in Indiana I feel I have a god given right to great basketball, and the fact that the Pacers and Hoosiers are both terrible makes the entire state depressed… But I really have no desire to watch the Lakers and Celtics again… I don’t know…

The video above does make an interesting point… There are a lot of Balrogs and Ryus… and they do punch each other in the face and one dude does throw fire until he doesn’t… and then you die… You know what I appreciate about the HDR community? We have a sense of humor. Had someone made some type of video like that about SF4 people would have probably jumped off of a cliff in protest or something…

One final thought this morning, as the rain stays mainly in the Indiana plain today, I’d like to invite everyone to come to Indianapolis sometime. I honestly believe its the most underrated city in America. And if I ever host a tournament around here, I expect people to show up! That’s all…

LMAO what’s awesome about it is that the narrator sounds like Kevin from The Office. It reminds me of that one episode where everyone is imitating Kevin and making fun of him…lol. Great video!

Well, Rain, would you rather be a Wizards fan? They’re called Wizards! Who the hell is worried about a wizard in 2010? Is there a worse team name? I think even the Nuggets are laughing at that name. And the colors! And Gilbert “Tons o’ Guns” Arenas! Ugh.

The finals should be relatively interesting but it’s hard to root for either one of these title buying dynasties. The NBA season is so utterly predictable. The NBA will never be in the same air as the NFL (which is purportedly their goal–good luck David Stern) as long as only a handful of teams are in title contention every year.
Think about it: Lakers, Celtics, Bulls, Spurs and, well, that’s about it. The majority of the league’s teams and (by extension) the regular season is superfluous and obsolete. Even MLB has had more diversity in regards of teams that have won championships. That’s saying something considering that you can almost literally buy championships in baseball.
Go Grizzlies!

when you make one mistake in this game

you should lose

Amen. That was the part of the development phase that was GENIUS. That and punching the other guy in the face until they die.

Hey, I feel your Wizards pain… I really do. At least you can say that San Antonio has built up a franchise the right way in a small market town. I would agree though that particularly with how uneven the talent is in the NBA and how its such an isolation league, without a top 5 player you can’t win a championship unless you have like 4 of 6-13 which is basically the Celtics (and Rondo arguably has become the 5th best player in the league anyway…).

Yeah, Tampa Bay has almost single handedly restored my faith in baseball… almost… Now if I can get the Tigers to win the series, the Pacers to an NBA Finals, and the Colts back to the Super Bowl (well… I’ve got a pretty good chance at least on one of those…) I’ll have a successful sports year.

I’d say Clippers is not a very scary name (or team, for that matter).

what’s so scary about a trail blazer anyway

What’s so awesome about a soul blazer ?

being a well-received super nintendo game

Really ?

when did one review in some old review magazine account for the whole reception
