Decided to make a thread for Marsgatti since he has decided to retire from the world of Street Fighter.
This thread is also a send off for other OGs that have called it quits recently…
Life is tough. Be it financial woes, girlfriend problems, or just plain ol’ wanting to really become a Family Man.

Only played him a few times, but it was nice to play a Guile who could do so much more than sonic boom > jump forward kick. Good games, and all the best in whatever you are doing.
Damn, and I finally got a chance to play against Marsgatti a couple of weeks ago. How am I supposed to get my runback now?

damn…how did this come about? i havent played him in a long time as ive been lurking on PSN…but mars is definitly the most fierce guile ive ever played. farewell and god bless my friend.
lol no im not retired just so everybody knows, i have had thoughts about calling it quits though for a couple reasons(one being i dont see myself getting anybetter imo) and there are times when i play online that i get really frusterated and want to and kev knows this lol but nah im still playing. If i was to call it quits though i would make the thread myself, but thanks anyways kev lol. And btw if i did retire, i shouldnt have a thread dedicated to me cause im scrub and am no good but for some reason i still play lol see ya guys soon. Also do not get mad at kev for making this cause when i last talked to him, i was pretty poed and was close to thinking about droppin SF alltogether and i talk to him frequently, but ive calmed down alot since.

Easily the best Guile I’ve ever played against. I’d really like to know why he feels the need to “retire” from playing a game though…
It’s just a mild case of burnout Mars, happens to me all the time. After playing a lot sometimes it seems my concentration and intensity goes down the drain and I play like crap. Then I take some time off from fighting games in general, play some Battlefield BC2 or some Gears of War 2 or something, then come back and it’s all good again. It’s just hard to play all these studs online and offline all the time and keep up that high level of concentration, LOL. I’m old and get mentally fatigued easier now, LOL.
I said it once and will say it again Marsgatti is the best guile I have ever played. There is a new fighting game coming out with a potentially buffed guile if you are potentially looking to go big time in the new big time game. By the way I am also done with SF2.

No doubt, one of the best guiles on both PSN and XBL versions of the game. The most memorable moment I have of him is when I enlisted the god-like guile for our PSN Team Tourney when hardly anybody knew his reputation except from XBL. When both me and Sweet poison lost our finals matches, HBK came in single handely and killed the competition. We ended up 1st in the tourney cuz of him. Ever since then, he made himself a name on the PSN side LOL… It’d be hard to quit this game if you got talent in it.
Oh shit, Mars, you are hbk1231? I had heard over the last few months about this hbk1231 guy, but I had never gotten a chance to play him (or so I thought). Our matches on GGPO are always a blast. Like we decided last night, you aren’t really retiring. You are just semi-retiring.

Yeah I’m SRK_BOXER on GGPO. I did get raped the other night by DGV. I just wasn’t on top of my game I guess. There was a lot of times that my Super wouldn’t come out when I wanted it to. That would have won me at least 4-5 more matches than I did win. I’m sure I looked like a total sucka in front of everyone that was watching lol. Oh well, I play SF for fun, can’t take it too serious.
I play with my PS3 pad on GGPO, and some nights it’s like my thumb isn’t greased properly, so it sticks on the D-Pad more than I would like it, which makes it harder to slide my thumb back and forth to do my Super.
I will admit that DGV is obviously more skilled than I am, but there was definitely a bunch of times that I SHOULD have made him pay for simple mistakes, but I just screwed it up.
Don’t sweat it bro…you aren’t the only one that feels that way once in a while…I am still shooting for the number 1 spot of being the best guile in the US but Brian’s in my way at the moment lol. You had some good games with my brother Battosai (he quit cause he now has a girl friend), but I hope to get some games in with you when I get my new computer (its been months since my computer at home died and since I have been on ggpo where the competition is at). Besides the bible says that a man cannot serve two masters…so keep in check that you are maintaining the Lord Jesus 1st in every area of your life (SF2 and video games in general can be addicting and unfruitful, time consuming).
