The MarsGatti Farewell/Peace Out Thread

Who would’ve thought Locke was really Jack’s father.

Yeah and that SF game was bad.

I remember the old V series, but the new one just doesn’t look interesting to me. I figure they put the 2010 spin on it, and I doubt I’ll like it as much.

^Yah, I’m up for it as well Coth. Just let me know when.

Dang looks like my bro’s PS3 kicked the bucket. Yellow light of death :(. The strange thing was that about 2 weeks ago it got the yellow light of death, but my bro fixed it with a blow drier (lol I’m not joking). Supposedly, it fixes the cracks in the poorly done soldering. Lol I guess I’ll have to wait until Saturday to redo the blow drier fix since we don’t have one at our house (we used our aunt’s).

Anyone else have experience with this? I’m not sure often I’ll have to redo the fix, but if it’s too frequently we will have to buckle down and get another PS3 (or 360 I guess).

Favorite TV channel, USA

Burn notice, Law and Order SVU and CI, Psyche, NCIS, and White Collar.

GO!

my favorite TV channels are torrent sites

If I had to pick a single channel to keep, it would be USA – primarily for the three shows you listed last. I watch Burn Notice to behold the awesomeness that is Bruce Campbell, but no Law and Order show has ever really grabbed my attention.

Sadly, the only channel that routinely airs reruns of my all-time favorite shows is a laughingstock.

USA is the laughingstock or there is another one?

lol zenken

I can’t bring myself to name the channel due to its ridiculous name change, but I will say that the shows I referenced are Star Trek: The Next Generation and Highlander.

Seriously, I feel like I should be wearing Groucho glasses while watching.

The only TV show I use to watch on regular basis was 24, now it’s over (and if it wasn’t for DVRs I wouldn’t have even watched it). So the only series I have set to record on the DVR now is the new V series, and though I enjoy it, it won’t break my heart to miss it. I just don’t watch much T.V. (to much Xbox and PS3, LOL). I’m more of a movie guy.

I do love Netflix (which right now has all the seasons of 24 on the direct stream right now) and like being able to watch streaming movies and TV shows whenever I want on my 360 and PS3. Thanks to Netflix I’m getting to watch all the Firefly episodes that I missed the first time around (actually saw the movie Serenity first and really liked it). Best $9 a month I ever spent.

Edit: Mythbusters is great show, but don’t watch it on any regular basis.

we are the exact same possum for this reason

I loved 24 despite the uneven seasons. That is, I loved 24 until last season’s 19th or so episode which signaled a “jumping of the shark.” After Tony went maverick for the umpteenth time, I knew that the show’s format had gone stale. Instead of a satisfying and logical conclusion (logical according to 24 standards, at least) the show’s writers had to artificially extend the season to satisfy the 24 episode requirement. I didn’t watch a minute of this year’s show. Was it better than last year’s? (sentimentality over this being the last season notwithstanding)

I don’t watch much TV either, Rabid Marsupial. I do love Dexter, Archer, The Daily Show, Frontline (PBS in general, actually), retro cartoons (e.g. Thundercats, Inspector Gadget, Batman: The Animated Series etc.). My guilty pleasure is watching Spike although I know that I’m losing brain cells just by doing so. Manswers, 1000 Ways to Die, and Deadliest Warrior are some examples of the mind numbing yet captivating dreck that I watch from time to time.
Oh and don’t forget Cheaters. I hate myself for liking that show.

What are your guilty pleasure shows?

All my favorite shows have ended

24 did lose quite a bit after the 3rd season IMO. Season 5 was probably the last season that I was actually looking forward to the next weeks episode.

At least Bauer can survive puny knife wounds, unlike that other Jack…

Me and some friends watch Deadliest Warrior together on skype every week just to laugh at how much stupidity there is in that show.

Tons of fun.

Kao - Ya, the whole Tony is bad, good, bad thing was very lame. This year’s 24 was kinda like all the more recent seasons, it started off really good and then somewhere around the middle episodes it just starts to slowly go down hill into the realm of the absurd. Sometimes they try to hard to write in shocking plot twists.

You’d think that after 100 different moles/traitors that CTU would have a better screening process. Whoever does their background checks needs fired, badly, LOL.

 Sci-fi?

 @deadliest warrior, its basically really bad theory fighter. ONLY THEY USE COMPUTORZ!!!

Explain, please??? I use Skype so I’m wondering if there’s some crazy feature I’m missing out on???

Maybe i should have written that differently.

We all just sync up the video and have a conference call going on Skype.

I love me some House despite my loathing of the last five minutes of the season finale. I also enjoy NBC on Thursday nights from 8-10. Guilty pleasure: The Jersey Shore. Even bigger admission: I sometimes laugh with the cast and not at them (although I do plenty of that).

Edit: Forgot about Top Gear and Man vs. Wild. Bear Grylls is the man Chuck Norris wishes he was.
