No, they got FFVII International with all that plus an additional bonus material disc. Don’t think about Japan or you’ll just get disappointed almost every time.
Dracula II is OK but it’s tough to navigate if you don’t know what you’re supposed to do. It’s unique but a disappointment in action compared to its Famicom brethren.
I’ve also had Alpha Protocol pre-ordered for like a year now; I don’t honestly expect much (except glitches) but I’m curious how it’ll compare (or rather, not compare) to Mass Effect.
Best, rather, to point out the error so that one might learn from the mistake they have been making for years. “Pen-” meaning almost, or next to…eg the penumbra/umbra shadows cast during a solar eclipse. Thank you (and Google) for setting me straight on that.
I agree with everything you just said about the Saturn version, Ganelon. At the point I got the chance to play through the game (with my roommate’s translation assistance), I had already played through it before, so the enticement of the few extras thrown into the mix trumped the otherwise minor complaints (it wasn’t like the game was a visual masterpiece to begin with).
As good as SotN is, though, I’ll always have a soft spot for Super Castlevania IV. I even kept a mix-tape with music from it in my first car
360, Modded XBOX with XBMC, PS2, Dreamcast, DS, Genesis w/ Sega CD
I’ve also had a 32X, SNES, GB, but nowadays any games I want to play on any not current gen hardware I emulate.
I do want to say, I get TONS of use out of my XBMC Xbox. I have it hooked up to the TV with the original XBOX Wireless Adapter and it sees my TVersity Media Server and I can watch anything I want. That was the best 20.00 I ever spent getting my XBOX Modded… I wish I had done it sooner.
Well, if I’ve been designated the de facto grammar Nazi of the thread, I’d have to point out that you can’t mix “one” and “they” together to refer to the same subject either.
And it seems we’ll also have to disagree on SFC Akumajo Dracula since I think the X68000 version is the best iteration of the original game. Plus, it has an amazing soundtrack; the PS arrange version of Thrashard in the Cave is in particular a great trance jazz track.
Well let me first say I use it on both. Works great on both devices. Nice thing about the XBMC Xbox is that it doesn’t have to transcode anything because XBMC has every codec in the sun preinstalled which is nice, but if my wife is in the bedroom reading or knitting, she can use the XBMC Xbox to watch anything she wants and for her she finds it to be a much nicer cleaner interface… but oh yeah, the 360 in my front room also connects to TVersity and does just fine as well.
It’s nice to have multiple devices on my home network that I can stream whatever music / video / pictures to
In my lifetime I’ve owned almost every console out there, starting with Atari 2600 and Colecovision. Including the ones nobody else bought like the 32X and 3DO. The only ones I never owned were the Atari Jaguar (no games besides AvP) and the Neo-Geo (too expensive).
Still play NES, Genesis, and SNES games via emulation (the physical NES is barely hanging on, LOL).
Original GB, a gb color, gb advance, ds lite
NES (doesn’t work :(), Snes, N64, Gamecube, Wii
Dreamcast, until recently had a Saturn but it was broken and it went to the bin
PS, PS2
Xbox, Xbox360
My wife owns:
Gameboy of some kind, DS Lite
Wii, Gamecube and N64
PS2, X360
We lived apart for a while due to work etc, so we played online on those games together… and a whole lot of MUDs, Everquest and eventually WoW.
There’s so little room for all this stuff though… lot of it is going to end up in the bin. The Dreamcast and N64 controllers are just so BULKY.
Edit:
Castlevania 2 was awesome. It was so retarded, it was great. GO OVER THERE AND KNEEL WITH THE PURPLE CRYSTAL AND THE MAGIC BOUNCING GARLIC WILL APPEAR! Uh… okay? The music was phenomenal in it though. It was a long game and very unique. I dunno, I liked it.
Zelda 2 was EPIC. Wtf are you talking about Coth? That game was incredibly awesome. The music in it is so good too. The last dungeon had such epic music. Dude… that game was so good. The hell is wrong with you???
All the hate for Zelda 2! I liked really liked it, they tried something different from the first game, some of it worked, some of it didn’t, but the game wasn’t bad at all. It was challenging and long. I admit it is probably the weakest game in the series, but that doesn’t make it bad.
Well, I also have Simon Belmont theme (original, SNES version) in high regard. Bloody tears also has a cool pedal note initial section. In addition to it, I am pretty sure some Rondo of Blood songs have an organ emulated too, which is an instrument I like to hear to.
Some slower Castlevania themes remind me of air or a G string, which is a beautiful composition.
Nice catch. A very good theme, for sure among the best VGM of all time.
Symphony Of The Night = Best Castlevania ever, no doubt. I was never a fan of Castlevania until this game dropped. It’s easily in my top 20 GOAT. TBH the pre-SOTN Castlevania games were not very strong in platforming. Megaman, Mario and Sonic were way more tight in terms of control IMO. Not knocking them, but SOTN just blew everything else away. I was like “why wasn’t every other Castlevania game this solid and fun?” When the GB and DS Castlevania games dropped, I immediately jumped on them just cuz they were similar to SOTN, and I wasn’t disappointed. Swords ftw!! = J
My favorite track is in the Colosseum area: . As soon as this track starts, I can’t resist putting the controller down and just bopping my head or tapping my foot. Really good OST overall too.
I love me some Megaman X and Zero BGM. Favorite track: .
PC (obviously but I do have a few games like TF2 and Torchlight on it), Fat DS (takes a lot of my playtime nowadays with the new Pokemon), 360, PS2, N64 (w/ no cables), GBA SP, GBC, and my modded Wii.
