Two thumbs up for Planescape Torment. Man… Notice it was done by Black Isle Studio? The premier AD&D Game making company that was so awesome it was bought by who??? BIOWARE. Proof of great companies is they recognize talent at value and buy it up. Planescape Torment was awesome, there were just so many different ways to play that game… There’s a game that deserves a real sequel.
Of course now, I could lead into a rant as to how Dungeons and Dragons has been corrupted by the then D20 system and now the horror that is fourth edition… and that we should all go back to some hybrid of first and second edition because it gave DM’s room to breath, but if you have to abandon old school, 3.5 is the next acceptable version… but 4th Edition is awful and if a D&D game is ever released by those rules I will personally hit the developer and Wizards of the Coast over the head with a frying pan… actually… Wizards of the Coast is already up for 36528097985 wackings from the Frying Pan… too early to threaten nuclear armageddon against a company for destroying a great franchise???
So I just watched the recording of the MWC final between Royal Phlush and Valle, which RP DOMINATED by the way… and the commentary was RIDICULOUS! Dudley this, Ibuki that, Street Fighter 4… blah blah blah. These guys need to learn a lesson from the ESPN Ombudsman… PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE WATCHING, NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT!!! They weren’t even paying enough attention to keep an accurate count of how many games had been won… also, please take your love affair with Valle off stream, when we’re watching a match, try, I BEG YOU, try for some semblance of objectivity. Noting Valle’s competitive history, perfectly legit. Acknowledging him as one of the great FG players of all time and in SF2 especially legit, but please, PLEASE talk about the action for 2 minutes…Thank you.

I too thought that was weird. It was pretty much commentators that had no interest in HDR or really didn’t have any idea how to describe SF2 action because they’ve never played it. It really is poor planning to have commentators commentating on shit they don’t know anything about.
S-Kill commentary = 100% win btw.
I think HDR has shown that it pulls enough players at tournies that it should stop being treated as the red-headed stepchild at every event.
I’m thinking of going to Evo and maybe trying my hand at doing some ST commentary. We’ll see.
If I end up able to go to Evo I’ll definitely do some HDR commentary. Hell, I’ll see if I can for PowerUp if I go.

Megaman did commentary at West Coast Warzone and did a great job. He actually KNOWS people in the HDR community which is a bonus.
Hopefully they stop having SF4 players who don’t play SF2 do commentary.
Vintage would be a perfect canidate since he doesn’t enter tourneys his brother plays in, and they travel to alot of majors.
I even thought I would’ve made better commentary than those guys did on Valle vs. Phlush.
