How the hell do you forget your miked and call a lifelong labour voter a bigot because she’s worried about Labour immigration policy? I’ll call this right now, this at least costs Labour 5% of the national vote and puts the Lib Dems squarely into the number two spot, the only question is can the Tories siphon the votes Labour will lose into a large enough share of the vote to win a Parliamentary Majority… (I’m such a loser, I spend my day debating Canadian politics with Canadians and rambling on about my shock at the level of campaign mismanagement by Labour in the UK…)
BTW, I personally have always believed that Cammy was originally designed as a Swedish, or at least Scandinavian character, and was then switched to English later as England is “cooler” to the Japanese designers eyes. Her stage background and tons about her design is very off for an English character. Although I always tell any American on XBLA that her background is exactly what all parts of England look like, and pretty much exactly what I see when I look out my window.

I was going with “eye candy = good graphics”. Quite personally, I’ve always liked the DOA series for casual party fighting (Tekken and Soul Calibur as well). Even my non-fighting game friends can mash some fancy stuff out whereas they get murdered every time in SF2/SF4.

I thought it sounded familiar. I couldn’t place it, other than it sounded a bit like something Yoko Kanno would have done (and it was). Then I remembered that seeing as I’ve never seen Lodoss, that it was probably a friend of mine that sent me the mp3 years ago. I had a feeling it was Yoko Kanno too because it reminded me of Escaflowne.
Yeah, 80s/90s was pretty awesome anime wise, but 2000’s is just ass, so I gave it up. Ever since they went to digital production (colouring on computer and outsourcing etc), stuff just seemed to take a dive quality wise and the animation just seemed to lose some of it’s style and life.

Escaflowne, now there’s an opening! Lodoss war is just made of pure win, not just the opening… Next to truly embarass myself, I also like the opening to Fushigi Yuugi… I’m humiliated that I watched that show for 52 crazy episodes or whatever it was… and then every opening theme from Fullmetal Alchemist is made of win.
Yeah, the majority of anime in the the 2000’s didn’t have the same appeal, there were some exceptions like FMA but for the most part I would agree with that sentiment…
BTW, for the record, this thread got real when half of DGV posted…
