im still maining him, I used in HDR where is almost 1 of the worst so Im not worried if he ends up bottom again lol.
In HDR I wouldn’t say the best, but hes pretty dam good.
Then again I did use his Rekke punches as a dash and poke, good speed and range
Along with a GOOD chicken wing with a bonus of being able to link a dragon kick to it
Super which is pretty hard to link to anything at least moved fast to the point where countering was only going to happen if you knew he was going to use it.
So I was thinking, Fei actually IS getting some decent buffs in Super. You guys may not have realized it yet though.
So ok two things happened:
- Focus attacks got faster. Supposedly they come out faster AND reach unblockable faster.
- Fei’s dash got faster, without the lag at the end.
So these are actually pretty decent buffs if you think about it. For one, his focus attack with be a lot more useable now and you won’t even need to always go to level 2. It may very well be a decent poke, and if his dash is faster, he might even be able to retain frames after the focus. Also, getting in on fireballers should be much easier with an improved dash, using focus cancels or just dashing in to get closer. Flame Kick FADC will give more frames on block to do stuff and on hit with a faster chickenwing, the Flamekick FADC Chicken Wing combo will be quite a bit easier I imagine.
The Blanka matchup will be MUCH easier as well with a faster dash, as you won’t need jesus like reflexes to spot and punish every single blanka ball with reversal timing using dash > rekkas. It should be SLIGHTLY more forgiving. So while they aren’t huge buffs, I think it will help him a bit as a character.
yeah didn’t he have fire / ice / lightning punches? That’d be awesome if EX rekka had one of those properties on each punch, lol.
Personally i wouldnt mind if CW had faster startup and better invincible frames on start up so you dont have to wait so long to go through projectiles.
I guess i can agree, but instead of frame buff on rekka i would rather it do more dmg. Would be great if rekka was just 0 on block but had much more damage, His EX rekka should be more totally hits and do as much dmg as fierce rekka.

No Invincible Tenshin, i would rather him get more range and faster startup than invinciblity. The fact that hes so fast and has to slow down for tenshin to come out just looks off. Maybe EX can have a few invincible frames sort of like abels command.
His Ultra should have suction and the punches come out as fast as his super with the normal delay before the last hit for reversal purposes. It should combo in the air even if it isnt for full ultra damage so basiclly it looks like his 5 punches all connect in the air each doing damage with the last punch doing the most if you time it right sort of like Boxer.
I don’t like his super/ultra from an aesthetic view, they are just like his piss ass slow super from ST. One thing HDR got right was fast fucking 5 hit rekka string. Be awesome if he could dash half screen like y’know everyone else.

I would rather have Fei Long have no Link to his super
But have it punch much faster with the last hit being able to counter yet safe after that last hit.
Seriously though, he doesn’t have much, the old chicken wing would do him some good.
But yeah, fixing the speed of choppy animations is half expected.

Who wants a combo or safer move? Maybe a Cammy player… but really, if they made his super FASTER and gave it more DISTANCE
I would like it much better, besides, who actually uses his super in a link most of his matches anyways?
But if you think about it, if they made Ultra’s and Supers Safe on block in the exception of the final hit or first hit,
that would give people more incentive to not turtle such as SF2 being a prime example though quite a few flaws with that as well. Then again, command grabs is the new rage I guess.
…really hate command grabs, feels just like SF2 tap grabbing.
Its odd, but I used to go so far as if I were to poke them with a tap, I would take a step back before going for a grab in SF2HDR.
You use it as often as you think for punishing because his ex moves are kinda crappy except maybe CW.
WOW just WOW… Considering people cant jump at Fei when he has super and The only good thing about hit confirming cr. strong, strong i would say taking that out would make him a waste of a character box. He doesnt need Ultra or Super being safe he needs them to CONNECT! thats what his problem is. What happens when people block something should be secondary to how useful it is when it actually hits them. Im not going to call you a scrub/noob/ or any other dumb internet term but did you seriously even think about that statement before you made it? Comon man play in some tournies, travel a little bit and set up some money matches… Then tell me what Fei Long does and doesn’t need.
Fei’s command grab sucks and if you’re getting caught by it alot then maybe you should go into training and mimic the set ups that are trapping you into eating tenshin (there very are few) and learn how to avoid them because the move is really slow and has really bad priority.
My statment still stands even though the game is already done and Fei Long is all but confirmed as a weak character.

Thats all i would change, everything else would move him out of the lower tier that capcom seems to love placing him in so much. Those above 3 changes would make him more than competitive considering if you can manage wins with him now then these improvements will round out your game perfectly…
yes i was confused about that myself, WHY on earth would you want to take out one of his best way to deal maximum damage?
Again, this isn’t confirmed, unless you know something I don’t. It’s just something that was supposedly said on the Final Round stream.
Also, I pretty much always use lp, hp, hp to punish Blanka balls with rekka. The first hit whiffs but the last two will hit if timed right. Damage is pretty pathetic, but hey, free knockdown!

That goes for the rest of the characters, nothing is actually confirmed, we can only take their word for it but it gives us a glimmer of hope, things like ken’s SRK to full ultra 1 and stuff isn’t confirmed either.

j.lk, cr.lk, cr.lp, st.lp > cr.mp xx super is brilliant if you have the meter for it. So is cr.mp > cr.mp xx super. You’re basically saying “take Fei’s best offensive weapon away from him, I don’t need it!”
It doesn’t need to be faster and it doesn’t need to cover more distance. If you’re not hit confirming supers, you’re doing it wrong. It’s one of the few tools Fei has that actually does exactly what it’s meant to do.

The thing is, what made people use Supers a lot back in the day was because they were safe.
Now that they are unsafe you will NEVER see them used outside of focus or combo.
I was merely thinking out loud what if we made supers and ultras safe with the exception of the first and 2nd final hit?
Also, what stops a person from just jumping in the air and kicking Fei in the head when he uses his Rekke Ultra or even trip him?
Anyone smart could just jump in the air and not attack and grab when or if he uses a Counter Ultra, common when someone tries to uppercut the tip of say a jumping kick.
The games already finished, from the looks of it going to make a DarkStalkers game next so go figure.
Ken does NOT have that. He only got better invicibility on fierce srk so that you can get CH more often without it trading. If its CH you get full ultra otherwise it’s watered down. People are blowing a lot of information out of proportion. The game isnt too far away we just need to be patient im sure it will Leak 2 weeks early just like every other game on 360. So you can assume by the middle of april we will know a lot more.
