haha, good stuff. i figured someone had to do it and I always do shit like if someone was writing it at exact same time as me, trying to be the first xD
it was asked earlier, but never answered
do you jump forward, or neutral, when you do the first overhead stomp kick? How quick should u throw it out?
Jump forward and you have to do the stomp instantly. The animation will look like you stomped on their knee instead of their head.
Question to people who have this technique down good, which characters do you feel most comfortable doing this to? I’m trying to put the magneto loop into my gameplan but having problems and am trying to find a character that’s easiest to execute this on just to get comfortable doing it in a real match.
Anyone without a good DP move and with a large hit box helps make things easier (Hakan comes to mind) . As part of Seth’s mix up it’s great.
Hakan. All day long, j.rh c.lk instant overhead, repeat.
Otherwise, Abel and Sagat are pretty nice.
this thread is gonna do wonders for me…thanks guyz…all of u…any question which came to my mind reading post by post has been answered…thank u all…
Hey, I’m working on learning this Magneto loop, I have a question. I got it to work with no problem but what I’m seeing is that most players can get out of the loop by just crouching. If I use a cross up HK, cr.lk to start it up…and my opponent blocks low, The headstomp won’t hit. Does that mean I’m not doing it low enough? For the record I’m testing it on Vega
There’s no reason for the stomp to whiff on any characters so your are probably not doing it fast enough. Hope this helps.
Actually whenever I go into the lab with Seth, I pick random character for the dummy. One thing I got into testing was if instant nj.stomp worked after forward throw. While it does work, the timing is strangely different for many characters. I think Balrog, Guy, Ibuki, Cammy, Adon, Hakan, and probably others, have different timing. Or if I had dummy Seth recorded to forward throw instant nj Stomp, then it would work on the first dummy (being Guy for example), but switching to Balrog, the same recording would whiff.
I know Balrog specifically has some pushback on his wake-up animation (broken) so that might figure for why I have to adjust my timing, but regardless it confirms that at least for that setup, it’s not consistent across the board.
Edit: and lol at the top of this page when I said I don’t play Seth.
Excellent technique, finally getting used to it. Managed to get 3 reps on a high PP sagat player today, he was confused, he got stunned. I got kicked.
Advice to players trying to do it, a stick with a fairly decent throw on it works best. I used to have a modded short throw stick and it was quite a bit harder.
Also start by using it on the fatty’s in training such as Gief, then down to abel then finally the smaller chars.
@Metroxylon the neutral jump doesn’t work on all characters and the timing changes because different characters push you back different distances on their wake-up. Don’t do it in game to decent gief’s, a lariat trade is awful.
Sorry guys for bumping this thread, but I’m new to Seth and want to learn this… But the Video is gone, can anyone reup?
much appreciated thanks.
The technique is basically an instant stomp followed by a jumping normal, usually roundhouse. Keep in mind that the technique isn’t as effective as it was in Vanilla or Super. It’s much more likely to whiff on certain characters outside of the corner now.

Cheers thanks. I guess it only works on the bigger characters now? Eg Sagat, Zangief?
It works on other characters, but the spacing is strict. You’ll get blown up using it against Sagat and Gief, though.
ah ok thanks. I got some experimenting to do
