I thought his kara was t.MP…? This is something I tried learning but wasn’t sure about. Do I press them at the same time, or slightly delay the throw?
My current router does not work with GGPO. http://ggpo.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3237
This is unfortunately my problem, and it’s not possible to get another router. When I head to university later this year, I’ll hopefully be able to use GGPO. But there’s no guarantee…
Nope. T.HP. It’s piss easy to do. Just hit t.HP and LP and LK at the same time. Or you could hit 3P Macro and LK at the same time. One of the few advantages to using a controller. His Kara is probably 3rd best in the game. Really good range but not as good as Chun and Elena’s.
His kara is t.fierce. And you input the throw almost right after the t.fierce.
You can do a multitude of follow-ups after a successful medium or heavy flash chop. The general follow-ups are either heavy power bomb (which turns into german suplex since the opponent is turned around), EX shoulder for gaining ground, b.fierce to do the choke for stun, or you can actually try for a reset and do a tick into a regular power bomb.
There are two situations where you can use EX Air Knee Smash. You can connect it off of anti-air s.strong (yes, it combos) or, if you somehow land only one hit of the d.fierce anti-air (let’s say your opponent missed the second parry, or you did it and it hit them early while they were in the air, but heavy Air Knee Smash works just as well in this situation), you can do it. However, the opponent can catch onto your s.strong anti-air game (first time, they may parry the s.strong but EX Air Knee Smash can catch them, but the second time, they may smell it and parry, so you vary accordingly).
I’d post more, but I’m recovering from a night of drinking. Go fig?
Louis, you mention not to start off the round with elbow, what should I do? Dashing forward seems like it will hurt me more often than not, and anything else seems like it’s just creating more distance between me and the opponent. My best guess would be… sweep, or standing strong?
Jump in HP/HK/parry, maybe open up with LP/MP Flash Chop, or do nothing and walk in and let them fuck up. The beginning of the round is a period where you feel them out. Are they going to play runaway? Do they think this is SF4 and do Hadouken all day? Are they playing Jungle Strike? Etc.
You just gotta’ learn matchups. Never count out Alex’s best pokes like st.MK and t.MP though. Because If I’m playing an Alex who opens a match with LK Shoulder that tells me he’s just pressing buttons and I can bait him and punish real hard.
It’s a given that you can combo into Air Knee Smash off of cr.HP (if it hits only once). I forgot to mention LK Shoulder could be an interesting tool if you hit them as they jump and have them in the corner, you can juggle them but I don’t have Genki-levels of exeuction and just do t.HP and either do Sweep as they land or EX Flash or just block what they do and punish.
I’ve actually never done MP Flash and then ticked into Powerbomb, I’ve never hit them with MP Flash where I’m close enough to do that.
I’d rank SA1 Urien as low-mid. Tyrant Slaughter is a great counter Super because of its very fast startup and decent starting range, but that’s about it. Urien doesn’t gain any scary offensive options from it, and Urien without Aegis is just generally not good. A lot of matchups where Urien either dominates or is favored upon are either going to get way more even or Urien will lose. Alex for example will have VERY little to fear against Tyrant Slaughter.
I mentioned earlier that I was wanting to start a 3s scene, a quick related question: Since we don’t have an arcade cab, should we play on local 3sOE or on an emulator? If we play on an emulator, which one runs 3s best?
yeah what they said. a lot of people have mentioned that MAME has some serious input lag, and FBA runs the game too fast.
if you just wanted to play online I’d suggest GGPO since the online play is better and from what I’ve experienced the competition is a lot better. if you’re building an offline scene though OE is the way to go.
Hey, if there’s one Alex match I just do not understand going in, its the vs Necro.
The big one. And might as well put it out here where people talk a lot of Alex and Necro than character forums.I can figure what Necro should do a lot more than Alex’s side where pokes aren’t working and tick baits are tough to get in for.
