The Low Level Tennessee Thread Full of Casuals :)

Go fish. Any 7s?

Kodee getting name dropped on SBA. Nice.

Edit: This commentary…Daaammmnnnn lol

We’ll see how extra playthroughs go. Up the difficulty level to 11!

Were they like “so like theres this guy and he does a thing in tekken”

Slips wins TTT2 at Season’s Beatiing with Eddy and Tiger…There is a moral to this story somewhere :D.

Yup play who you like

Or I guess you could go with Eddie/Tiger is broken lol

ok created a TN Tekken XBL team

go to tekken.com reg for tekken world, get code by pressing Y online mode menu(this is found in the game not the website) to link XBL account

I’ll invite you as soon as you do this. This team is just for fun lets show online what TN’s got!

I’m looking at you Maxninja. Dream, Negro Justice, Neoblood, Richard etc etc

Lol I like how niggas still, and will probably always, think me, Rell, and Marcus are from Georgia.

Makes perfect sense now why I got texts from some saying “TN is free”. It’s because of Trung’s, Jio’s, and Jamie’s possible “bad nerves” at SBa. And Memphis didn’t even go. But…apparently Memphis hasn’t been a city in TN. Which is why guys have been mislabeling some Memphis players as GA or ATL for years now Even people who joke with me about Memphis rap, when we’re at a tourney, they ask “what part of Georgia you’re from again?”. Like wtf…

Anyway, heard that stream was popping off saying TN was free. Some of the very same players who got raped by Memphis for years, or hell, even left online rooms this week after getting catching L’s.

Cody actually got namedropped as the “savior of TN”. So apparently…Rell isn’t from Memphis. And Memphis isn’t a city in TN.

E-courage on these streams is why ALOT of players’ hard earned money is going to get taken this weekend in Texas…

Lol that Kaz/DJ could not EWGF on 1p he kept throwing to switch to 2p my dream is alive with Kaz!

TTT Results:

  1. Slips (Eddy/Tiger)
  2. Fab (Miguel/Bob, Steve/Bob)
  3. Antonio Carmona (Devil Jin/Kazuya)
  4. I Eat Bamboo (Panda/Kuma)
  5. Sluch (Zafina/Christie)
  6. Trungy (Steve/Lars)
  7. CoCo|Master D (Armor King/Steve)
  8. 50 Yen (Devil Jin/Heihachi)

Not sure how they are saying Bamboo and Trung are “free”, 4th and 5th are nothing to sneeze at.

I know both of them lost to Antonio; he’s as old school as it gets in Tekken, really cool guy, Wisconsin player, known him since 1998…so that’s kind of wtf people babbling but what do you expect?

After a few hour crash course in tekken with Myles I’m feeling I could actually get into this game. Pick it up as soon as I can get some change to cash in. I will be playing Steve. Partner up in the air.

ggs to zeth and myles

Yesssssss. Join us. Miguel will be your waiter.

Is there any good visual cue for what moves are punishable in Tekken or does it just come from playing and know the opponents. Not seeing someone roar by with a SRK is a little different. I noticed I was able to use Steve’s 1,1,2 as punish or block string after many blocked attacks last night. The ranges were throwing my off too, I would think I would be out of throw range or at least far enough to backdash and then I’d get yakked up by A. King command grabs.

If you know your various punishers, best thing to do is always punish with 1,2 or 1,1, 2 in your case. That’s the fastest possible punisher for the majority of characters. then you start using bigger and bigger punishes.

You can also use the hit analysis function to get a rough idea of the recovery of certain moves in practice mode.

Each character has dashing grabs; usually the high level players aren’t grabbing as much because they can be seen and teched (yet I don’t see EVERYONE do it) and are duckable…

As Hiryu said, 1 is your fastest punisher (everyone except that sumo guy (sorry I don’t know names and I could be wrong here) have 10f on their Standing or crouching 1…however you will need to know when you can interrupt and do launchers and what your fastest launchers are. Some are “While Standing” which basically means you are crouching and then let the joystick go to neutral and press the button, some are Down Towards or Up Towards and a button; you have to check in the moves’ list.

Recovery is tricky, you have to know how to avoid “crushing” mids and patterns and get used to blocking lows, it’s very very aggressive and a bit random as you ARE GOING TO GET HIT eventually but if you start playing a lot you’ll come to “see” certain things…The game is more keeping your opponent completely out, forcing them to make a mistake, then dealing 50%+ from one launcher or sweep to combo or crushing mid.

Get Ragnarok to teach you how to “move” in the game, it’s the most important thing…

Any day of the week really works for me. It’s hard for me to attend on non-work days because I live so far away (45 minutes at least) and am a pretty busy dude. Being close-ish from work is a big deal for helping me get out there, even though now-a-days I usually have to leave around 7 just to get home in time to spend time with my wife.

I think moving the date wouldn’t really affect my attendance. Now, if someone was willing to pay me my current wages doing literally nothing, I’d be happy to attend 100% of the time

Okay, I won’t be able to pick up the game for a minute so I’ll basically be relying on fight night and random gatherings before I can learn combos and use the lab so I’m basically going to focus on blocking and watching for throw breaks for now. I was trying to hit some of your whiffs with back+2 but your strings weren’t finished I don’t believe because I was getting hit by the second attack.

Yea I know. Even though his Mishima play wasn’t the best and I thought he’d definitely use Changs. But bottom line is that alot of those guys KNOW BETTER. Dudes prob were salty the entire night Top 8 was decided and just wanted them to fail the next day. That’s fine. But don’t be so preoccupied in popping off that you forego mentioning the guy that’s been laying hands on the best from each coast for years now. Also Marcus upsetting many top players, getting notoriety and on his way to becoming one himself before he started doing MMA, and the “youtube conspiracies” and guys having the vids removed of f,f+2s smashing their heads straight out of majors. They knew better. E-courage was all that is. Now they gotta reap Saturday…

Ya, until you learn differentiating frames, best to stick with 1,1,2 for punishing little stuff. He has diff punishment for 12f and 13f but don’t worry about that right now. Bigger stuff and at 14f, you get Sonic Fang (df+1+2). At 15f you get f,f+2. Steve doesn’t get a true block and launch punish until 19f with u/f+2. For smaller block lows, whereas others get while standing 4 at 11f, Steve gets ws1,2. 15f is f,f+2. Steve can’t launch punish blocked lows until 18f with ws+1+2.

Fyi, Steve isn’t the friendliest chara to begin learning game with. He isn’t prototypical. He gets most his combos off CHs and crushing shit. And most of his launchers come from spaced whiff punishing more than blocked punishing. So he profits more from reaction and anticipation. You also have to get a grip on Flicker and Peekaboo stances. His combos aren’t the easiest either. But he’s a monster.

Also, usually I’d say play whoever you like. But with Steve, you’d want a partner who has launchers, preferably taggeable ones.
