wat the doctor was wrong about fertility on the island??? but he seemed so convinced he was correct and was condescending to people with differing opinions???
From TVGuide:
So will we ever learn why women couldnt carry babies to term on the island? Isnt that the whole reason Juliet was brought over by Dharma in the first place?Jean B., via e-mail
Lindelof says the show is not going to specifically state why, however, we feel like weve given you the empirical data so you can figure it out for yourself. Hmm a little more help please for the clueless? Clearly Ethan was born on the island in 1977, continues Lindelof. Thats the last baby that we know of who was born on the island. And then something happened between 1977 and when our show takes place in 2004 (when Claire arrived eight months pregnant) where its been a long time since women have been able to have babies on the island. What might have happened between those two points that could have created fertility issues?
SOUNDS LIKE THE INCIDENT TO ME???
First off, whoa, man. What the hell’s your problem? It’s all opinion based theory. Don’t get all out of shape about it. I take what I know about the show and theorize what I think makes the most sense for the show based on the information given.
Secondly, so you’re trying to trump my theories with speculation, because that’s all it is, you learned from some article? There are lots of things that could have lead to Claire being able to have her baby there, the most important one being that she didn’t conceive on the island. You think the constant Taweret references are a coincidence? So, until the show, Lindeloff or Abrams come forward and say it was the incident I think that’s wrong. There’s just no proof to support it, where there’s lots of support to prove that the incident couldn’t be why. The alternate timeline isn’t just what would happen if they (flight 815) never came to the island, according to last night, it’s what would happen if the bomb is exploded at the Swan site and they evacuated non essential persons. So, it can’t be what made Claire’s birthing possible because it couldn’t have ever happened in the timeline that they landed in, PERIOD. It’s not my fault if you can’t understand that.
So, if you want to have some gripe because you’re, I don’t know, intimidated by my ideas or some shit, that’s fine. I haven’t shit on anyone’s theories or condescended anyone. I have offered them the same information I have now that lead me to conclusions I now have. They can believe what they want to believe. Until the end, or more information has been presented, people are welcome to believe what they want.
The incident existed in the original time line. It’s when they breached the pocket of eletromagnetic technobabble bs. It’s what occured before the bomb was set off and caused that huge magnetic incident that caused all things metal to be pulled into the dig site.
do you think you’re better than us because you use paragraphs, capital letters, and proper punctuation now???
Pretty funny that they brought up Nikki and Paulo’s diamonds.
I like how he called them morons and then thought it would be a great idea to tell everyone, including Ben, about the diamonds and even go so far as to take them out and play with them.
Good Ben episode.
Even weirder that he didn’t want to figure out what they were thinking when they died, find out they were buried alive. Or perhaps telling everyone that would remind them of the diamonds.
So was Jacob referring to Whitmore coming to the Island??
Just because you don’t know the significance of it doesn’t make it wasted. It means you’re ignorant (by denotation of the word). Just let it play out and make your judgement then.
Didn’t he find the diamonds because he read their last thoughts? I’m pretty sure he called them morons because of the way they died.
Jack went lvl 3 nuts in this episode;
“No Richie, I don’t think you understand.” lights fuse “I’m ku-razy, mah nigga, so let’s you an’ me have a lil’ chat…”
I just remembered, this was the first time in the entire show where Jack was right. So here’s to you, Jack Shepherd, you lucky sonofabitch. You are apparently unkillable.
Why were dharma crates still being air-dropped into the island, and why was Desmond still pressing the button when Dharma was long gone?
If what Richard said was true, then shouldn’t Locke be alive as well? Jacob did touch him after getting thrown out the window; or does it only apply to the island?
Regarding the alternate timeline, here’s what the writer Damon Lindelof had to say:
“People are saying [they] don’t need these stories and all we can say is they’re absolutely 100 percent necessary to tell the story of Lost, and hopefully by the end of the season it will be more obvious as to why,”
I dunno why dharma crates were still being air-dropped. Desmond wasn’t part of the Dharma Initiative. He was marooned on the island while participating in a sailboat race. On the island he met Kelvin Inman who was part of the Dharma Initiative. They kept on pushing the button after Dharma was gone because they were saving the world.
Richard said that he couldn’t kill himself because it was a gift by Jacob. Jack was touched by Jacob and also found out that he couldn’t kill himself. Locke died because Ben killed him. If Locke tried to kill himself, it wouldn’t have worked.
 Michael couldn’t shoot himself in the head
Or drive into a brick wall
kearmy couldn’t kill michael either
Just watched some clips back of this weeks episode, anyone else think Miles was hiding more information about Jacob’s last memories that just who killed him. I was reckon Jacob predicted all of this and his last memories may have revealed his complete plan to Miles.
Well caught, but what you’re forgetting is that BEN killed Locke. Ben also killed Jacob. Whatever it was that allowed him to kill Locke also allowed him to kill Jacob, or, in killing Locke, that’s what allowed Ben to kill Jacob. I haven’t quite worked out which way it goes yet. Ben was the loophole Smokey found that Jacob referred to, but in what respect, I know not. I imagine it was the fact that he used to be a leader and left the island, only to return. I believe this is why Faraday’s mother helped Ben back to the island. That might infer that she was trying to help Widmore though… Hmm. I doubt that though.
We all know that Widmore is THE “bad” guy, working with Smokey. He’s been working with him for god knows how long, but to what ends? Widmore wants the island and Smokey wants off. One of them will betray the other. I’m pretty sure Widmore wants to become a god.
Ben being a former leader/leaving the island had nothing to do with his ability to kill Jacob. I’m pretty sure everyone, except Smokie, could kill Jacob. Jacob had faith in the goodness in everyone, and believed that Ben would change, up until the moment Ben killed him. We learned this from Miles. Smokie couldn’t kill Jacob and manipulated Ben by changing into Alex and telling Ben to listen to everything Locke tells him to do. As Locke, Smokie convinced Ben that Jacob didn’t care for him, no matter what Ben did to please him. This pushed Ben over the edge. The loophole that Smokie needed, was Ben’s anger. I don’t think it had anything to do with Ben being a former leader/leaving the island.
I don’t know if one will betray the other, but I do agree that Widmore is working with Smokey. Widmore hired Miles to go to the island back in season 4. Bram (working for Jacob) told Miles that he was on the wrong team. If Bram is working for Jacob’s team, then that must mean Widmore is working for Smokey’s team. Smokie mentioned that he’s looking for someone to watch over the island when they all leave. My guess is that Widmore is going to fill that role.
