The LOST thread

Ok, but what kind of answer did you really expect? Besides throwing him off the show completely like Libby and Ana-Lucia, there’s nothing really that J.J. Abrams could’ve done about it.

One question I want answered that probably never will be answered: why was Libby in the psyche ward with Hurley? Also, was she stalking him?
What’s the history behind “Hurley?” Is that a special feature extra, or something? Just curious.

Easily the worst episode of Lost in a long time.

Man, I really really wish they would end the Sawyer, Jack, Kate drama. That bitch remains my least favorite character.

Episode was meh, but the funniest moment was what my sister said when random “friendly black man” gets capped by Claire: “Why did the BLACK MAN get shot??? He didn’t do nothin’!”

And she’s right. Dude was a straight up gentlemen even after being yelled at by white douche bag and hit upside the head with a net full of boulders.

Yup, I was surprised Mac didn’t show off any of his sweet Karate moves.

I hate episodes that raise more questions, I faced palmed as soon as he ened with “your sister” =/

Juilette must have time travelled, remember Desmond also triggered a bomb the result was exactly the same. I hope she comes back like him a naked Juilette running through the forrest won’t be so bad lol

claire is his sister - i think this was covered in an earlier flashback episode

i may be mistaken though

Yep, but I don’t recall Jack ever telling her

I couldn’t agree more. Jack still has his hair groomed up like he’s Ricky Ricardo! It started off real good on the first season, but then they just got lazy with the consistency.

He couldn’t. He was off the island at the time. Perhaps Christian told her.

This episode was a let down.

it was a Kate episode :coffee:

but rejoice! there won’t be anymore Kate episodes! also, after every Kate episode, there’s an amazing episode (*Walkabout *was after a Kate episode, The Constant was after a Kate episode, etc).

also it had Claire: the MOST BEAUTIFUL female on primetime. people may disagree, they are wrong.

This episode wasn’t all that bad. It could have been worse, it could have been a Jin/Sun episode. Not as if I enjoy any of this Kate drivel, but it usually has something to do with other characters in the “story” that you might care about. Jin and Sun… I couldn’t give 2 shits about what happens to them or their boring ass characters.

This Episode DID teach us something, though. It taught us that the Others consider people brought back to life by the the spring “tainted”, like they’re controlled by the smoke monster. If this is the case, we don’t know that Christian is really Christian and wasn’t just another, if not the same, smoke monster. Still, this is kind of a leap. Claire, to my knowledge, was never brought to the well or Christian for that matter. But I think it’s clear now that Claire was the one that messed with the ash around Jacob’s place. But to what end? If she were actually in cohoots with the Monster, then why is she living in the jungle all alone?

Also, I can’t believe the guy that looks like John Lennon’s name is ACTUALLY Lennon. Really, writers? REALLY?!

What I didnt like was that here we are in the last season and this episode was just a waste. It managed to not explain or reveal ANYTHING. Just more people being driven to do things by mystery. For once I’d like to be surprised and just have someone answer another characters question with open honesty.

There was talk on another forum that they probably become brain washed by the smoke monster, like what happened to Russo’s team.

And I was thinking from his characterization and the fact that he was named (Joseph I think), he’d join the cast as the token black guy, with Micheal, Eko and that black dude with Locke dead. There is hope, considering, it looked like he was shot in the arm and not the three in the chest the Mac from Philly got.

Still, what is this shows problem with black folk, after season two, everyone save the old black woman with the white husband has been shot, mauled by smoke, knifed through the back or blown the fuck up.

It’s like a nigga stole JJ Abrams bike or something.

I feel the beginning of season 6 is like the beginning of season 3; it’s crap so far; I just hope it gets significantly better like season 3 did after those handful of first crappy episodes. LOL it would have been so killer sweet had that guy from IASIF showed everyone his world class kung fu moves, yeah bro LOL.

You know what. That actually makes some sense. Never quite explained what happened with the team, if anything at all. After all, she could have just been crazy like Claire and Charlie were saying about her.
btw, weird that we got to see Danielle’s baby being taken away by Benjamin. Didn’t she claim that she has never seen the Others before, but only heard their whispers?

I’m glad im not the only one who thought a majority of this weeks episode was wack as fuck. Jack swallowing the pill like a badass was easily the best part.

I liked how he got punched in the gut…that was entertaining.

I will break down what I feel.

There is an island with two presences. One white the other dark. The white believes in choice. The black believes in destiny. The white is called Jacob. The dark is what we call the smoke monster. The truth is they are BOTH smoke monsters. When Locke saw that “beautiful light” I think he saw Jacob, not “smokie”

When Locke and Ben went to the Cabin the first time and Locke heard “help me” it wasnt Jacob in the chair. I think it was the smoke monster. Technology gives him free reign, hence Richard flipping out and telling them not to shoot him when Evil Locke came out of the camp in episode 1.

Anyway, Jacob isnt human, obviously. What we have seen of him is probably just a dead body he is using. Both him and Smokey want to save the “world” Jacob thinks it involves human choice and progress while Smokey thinks humans are nothing but trouble. That is why when the Oceanic 6 were off the island they recieved visions that contradicted. For example Christian telling Jack to come back, while Claire telling Kate to stay away. They were the white and dark forces working for what they thought was the best. Now, you have to go back to every episode and figure out which visions were being supported by each presence. When Christian tells Locke to move the wheel is it the white side or the dark side? When Hurley sees Charlie is he talking to the white side or the dark side, etc.

Anyway, I think the end to lost is going to be ambiguous. Their will be an open ending so you can decide if what was going on is magical, or if it was scientific. Either way, the series will come down to Choice vs Destiny.

By the way, check out the first 5 minutes of the last episode of season 5 and listen to the coversation between Jacob and his buddy. That tells you a lot about them. BTW, in that episode they see a ship. I bet you it is a slave ship with Richard on it, hence the “it is nice to see you out of those chains” comment by Evil Locke.

That does make a lot of sense that when they entered the temple they were turned bonkers, but what doesn’t make sense is why. We know smokey doesn’t like humans but just “brainwashing” them to kill each other seems bad. Also, when exactly DID the Others get to the temple? Is the Temple Smokey’s home? The others seem to have taken it over and also seem to think he wants pretty badly to return to there. You guys say that the last episode didn’t reveal anything, when really I just think you’re too stupid or lazy to look past the obvious. What, you just thought that every episode here on out was going to be some Q&A fan service? Don’t be pathetic.
