I would like nothing more than to learn who Jacob is/was.
yeah, it feels like the show copped out and just replaced jacob with christian. maybe it’ll be a huge reveal like walt or something lol. thats another thing, in the earlier seasons they really made a point of over and over again declaring walt as really really special. and currently he playing what is essentially a walk on role. so, either they dropped the walt idea or they are misdirecting us from how important he is.
I wodner who raised Ethan… I mean, it’s obvious he wasn’t raised entirely by his parents, because he lived through the purge. So which of the “others” raised him? Maybe it was just Ben that brain washed him as they were growing up.
Anyway, I think it’s all a matter of when Ben first sees Jacob. Jacob is, most likely, one of the Oceanic 6. Or, at very least, one of the original survivors of flight 815.
Hello Ben.
Weird ending. Would be funny if richard was the smoke monster. Definitely tied to the island. Next weeks looks really interesting.
I thought the same thing when he took ben to the temple. ^^
"ask me some more time travel questions"
Hurley’s pretty cool.
I hate Kate episodes. Not quite as much as random jobber episodes or Sun episodes, but I hate them.
Hmm… Richard BEING the smoke monster. I assumed many different things or entities were the smoke monster… but Richard makes sense. It certainly explains why it has never killed John when it had the chance.
Although it doesn’t completely explain why we know the sonic fence can keep smoke monster out but not Richard.
I agree, usually Kate episodes are the worst but this one was actually ok. Not great but I didn’t hate her more then when it started which is usually what happens after enduring a Kate flashback for a variety of reasons.
Yeah, that’s because she didn’t spend the entire time being pretend mom. She was actually telling the truth and at a 4th grade level! All the truth telling really turned me on. It was also nice to see that Juliet still has the hots for Jack, while Sawyer is over Kate and Kate still wants Sawyer. It was also very redeeming to see Jack say no to Kate, much less anyone. Next episode will be a doozy, with explanations of smoke monsters and maybe even the death of Ben.
Hopefully it’s a ben centric episode. And not just the clips we saw in the preview. Also kinda interesting that the one random other tells richard that taking ben won’t go over to well with Charles. like Charles is in a high position with the others. Richard then said “I don’t answer to him” kinda hinting that he answers to someone, just not Charles. Gotta be Jacob, in the past he was very interested in Locke when Locke mentioned Jacob.
No, he said “I don’t answer to ‘them’”. The jobber other mentioned an “Ellie” before he mentioned Charles. Referring to Eloise, I assume.
Agh, didn’t hear him correctly then.
Well, it raises the question, if she was so buddy-buddy with Widmore, why was she helping Ben? Maybe she was pissed that he ercruited her son? Of course, I imagine she had already met her son in her past and knew he would be sent there…
I’m sure the same thing that happened to the French team happened to Ben. Richard mentioned helping Ben would take away his innocence, and Rousseau mentioned her comrades didn’t come back the same (from the temple).
So all it does is make you an asshole? That’s a pretty shitty temple, IMO.
As I said before, the smoke monster is the island’s fixing mechanism. Ben exists in the future, so he couldn’t die. Since nobody is willing to fix him through conventional means… take him to the temple.
Causality… makes my head hurt.
I frigging hate time travel stories that get into more than just one of the timeframes (i.e. Heroes bad for showing like 4+ time frames AFAIK, Quantum Leap good cuz it only showed one time frame per episode and only talked about what happened in the future for each episode instead of showing it), but Lost is such a good show that I can forgive it. Also, unlike X-Files, the producers promise to end the show with us having more questions answered than left unanswered. Damnit, I love this show.
The very reason you mentioned is why Heroes is bad. Oh, that and all the bad writing. Lost, luckily have been written and done with for a while, it’s just needed filming.
Question… may have already been brought up:
So, the show is teetering between time travel rules. Can you change the future or did things already happen? Wasn’t this question answered when present Widmore met up with Locke in Tunisia or wherever it was? Locke, apparently, always met Widmore… he just didn’t experience it yet. Same thing should apply to the guys currently back in time, no?
