Show gets better and fucking better. The worst episode of Lost is still better than the best episode of Heroes…
Also, mistakes are mistakes regardless of whether or not they happen for all eternity. Tonight Daniel said “It doesn’t matter what we do”. He was just being emo. He understands that they’re a part of the events of that timeline now, so whatever it is that they do always happened, so it doesn’t matter.
Richard brings her there BECAUSE he’s there already.
Do you remember when Ben became obsessed with a woman who looked EXACTLY like Juliet? Hmmmmmmmmm. I wonder if it actually WAS Juliet… More on that later!
Reiko Aylesworth aka Michelle Dressler aka the original Scarlett of 24, appears and she has a pretty good start although I can’t say her giving birth insures her future that much.
I would give all of the money I have to see the Jack/Kate/Sawyer/Juliet orgy. All of it. You reading this, J.J. Abrams? Make it happen. Not like any of them have REAL careers outside of Lost.
They are in the 70’s because they always were. In the next few episodes or the rest of the show you’ll find that their very actions will shape what we know to be the first few seasons of the show and now the future.
I’m kinda curious to know if Locke and the rest of the people from the flight are in the “present” or stuck in the past. They didn’t disappear with Jack and everyone else so I assume the former. Also I guess its implied they’re on the other island right?
[Edit]
Forgot about the map Caesar found. Now I wonder how far they are into the future.
Well, that’s debatable. Widmore told John that he needed to be there for a war or the wrong side would lose, but he should know that what happens happens and who ever John fought with before he’ll fight with again and the outcome will be the same because it is…UNLESS, this is anomalous time travel and John’s and/or Jack’s soul purpose is to prevent something from happening; probably Ben doing what he did or some other nonsense.
The one part of this show that proves that to me is the replacement of Jacob by Jack’s Father. Richard and Ben both knew Jacob as the head ghost. This leaves more questions for me than 400 foot statues miles away in some long forgotten time on the island. Jack’s dad is the new head ghost and that seems to even be the case in the past (at present). This COULD indicate that things that were are changing and things that are are not as they apear. We may yet be introduced to a character named Jacob who might REtake over as head ghost.
The war that is to be fought… We currently have 3(.5) factions. The Dharma Initiative, though seemingly incomplete at this time, the Hostiles (Others in the future (our past)), The remaining survivors of fight 815 and the new survivors of flight 316. John is currently lead to believe that he is to lead and protect “his people”, who we presume to be the Hostiles/Others. We know he’s important for SOMETHING on the island because it loves him. It all depends on who was telling him the whole truth, I guess. The “leaders” of the other factions include Jack, Sawyer (Jim LaFleur), various new 316 cast members. The Dharma Initiative is lead by Horace, a man we know to have been killed by Ben in the future and Dr. Pierre Chang, the man from the Dharma orientation films uses a psuedonym in each film which has to do with candles. There also so happens to be a station called “the lamp post” in Los Angeles that can find the island. Hmm.
Now this guy is interesting to me. When he’s first seen outside of the films, we see him awaken, kiss his wife and baby and put on a record, a record that starts to skip. Daniel refers to the time jumps as a skipping record. I just think it’s neat. Sorry, I’m ranting now. What was I talking about?
one thing i find tricky about all this. We have heard over and over that the oceanic six had to come back because “they never should have left”. but if they didnt leave, then events wouldnt have turned out the way they have, and apparently everything is happening as it should and has. so which is it? they were supposed to leave and come back as they have, or did something change in the sense that in a previous timeline they didnt leave and now this is a new timeline.
Sorry for the double post, but I just realized a lot of stuff. Lost draws from a lot of different Mythologies, one of those being Egyptian. Now, this is why I love this show, because it’s obviously well thought out and written. Horace, the Mathematician who was the reason Ben and Ben’s father were even on the island. Now, I’m about to answer some questions and you might not want to read it, but I’m not going to spoiler tag it due to it being speculation and general knowlege. In Egyptian mythology, there was a god named Horus. He had the head of a falcon and the body of a man, SIMILAR to the giant statue Sawyar, Jin and Juliet saw in the distance. That’s the first similarity. The rest gets kinda scary… Horus was at war with another god named Seth (Pronounced Set)(See SF4). They fought for ages over Egypt. Some time during the fighting Horus lost and eye.
When we were first introduced to Horace as a Dharma employee, he has an arrow on his jumpsuit Dharma badge, Indicating that he worked at/for the Arrow Station, that we now know was in charge of fighting the others. When we were first shown the insides of the Arrow station, there was a glass eye. Now, this could symbolize the victory of the Others over the Dharma initiative. It could also just be Mikhail Bakunin’s missing eye.
Something else I noticed was something Sawyer said last night. He said “want me to go talk to mister maskara”?, referring to Richard. And he’s right, Richard seems to almost always have some kind of mascara under his eyes, similar to that of the ancient Egyptians. Was he perhaps symbolic of Seth? Was the Dharma initiative supposed to win that war like it was historically won? I believe that Richard is either immortal or that the island may ACTAULLY be some type of ancient burial ground where it brought fallen rulers back to life… or something like that. Brain is tired now… needs rest…
