The LOST thread

That was a fucking awesome ending.

So…

Finale

Spoiler

So…That crash site they showed during the credits…Was that the original plane, or the one that Sawyer, Kate, Claire etc. just took to fly away? If so, then why is Hugo in the “afterlife”, they didn’t show him die?

^ CS explained that…some sooner and some later.

Appropriate title for the show, huh?

so im guessin, either two things happened.

  1. they are all dead, thats(the sideways universe) the afterlife and everyone is reunited n happy n forgot about their terrible past life cuz it was too painful for them to remember it until they got together again but their sad past lives didn’t matter anymore because they were together.
*ben staying outside sayin he needed to “work things out”-purgetory/hell
*christian shepard-name implies leading back to the light-hence opening church doors n lettin light in
    *hugo-caretaker-like god a.k.a.=#1,-ben#2reference/devil

or,
2)there are multiple parallel universes, and the island was a keystone/interconnecter to accessing all possible universes.

it was better ending than i expected, but not all that great either.
it got points for sweetness value.

the island is what everyone thought from the beginning purgatory. a bunch of lost souls who werent ready to move on.

how did you get that from the ending? the island was real, the alt timeline was a holding place where they could all meet up and pass through together

jack died on the island. hurley and ben stayed and died there. everyone else got off and lived their lives until they died

i didnt mean the island is literally purgatory but their stuck on the island itself. cause they werent ready to move on…and the flash sideways shit was a way for their brains to work shit out. so they would finally be ready to move on into the light so to speak.

This ending really only works if you want it to work. Its the laziest ending possible imo.

huh miles, frank, kate, sawyer, claire, richard all left the island

they died like 50 years later off the island

I hate to leave it like this but it could have been way worse. It was an alright ending to a show that I think raised too many random questions. It was a good way to wrap up a show that could have easier went way downhill.

The island was real, and they were alive on the island. It was never symbolic of them being in a purgatory or being dead. All that stuff really happened in the real world. The alternate universe was a place where they all met up when they naturally died after the whole island incident, like purgatory. The show just tricked us into believing it was just an alternate time line where they never got onto the island.

One thing I would really like to be explained is the purpose of the hydrogen bomb explosion. Now I’m seriously confused.

still works better than the fucking bsg ending. what angels? suuuure.

i might have to rewatch s6 but i believe there are no black people at all in the afterlife. i don’t remember seeing one. rose is mixed race so she doesn’t count.

very interesting subtle racism from the creators

Rose was there.

she’s not black. she’s half white they explained it in another episode

kind of like obama

Have you seen the dude who plays Walt nowadays? He’s way to old to bring back to the show without it not making any sense (not that a lot of the show makes much sense anyway) I’m guessing that’s why they didn’t bring back Michael and Walt for the most part. I wouldn’t look that far into it.

Lol wut

walt is too busy filming chicken nugget commercials but he probably didn’t show up since black people can’t move on

remember michael couldn’t move on and was stuck. black people aren’t welcome in the afterlife is the message lost is pushing

How about those answered questions, eh, Lost fans?
