There people who skip everything and do a direct line to Endboss Ganon straight from the great plateau as a 3 heart naked link. Not saying it’s easy. I never done it. But it became a speed run challenge.
Yeah, you can.
I’m gunning for Revali’s Gale ASAP next time I play the game. That movement option is so fun.
You can beat the game without the divine beasts? Wow, that actually sounds fun.
Yeah you can skip those dungeons, and skip having those powers too.
But you are forced then to do a gauntlet of those 4 Divine Beast bosses, not get the powers at all.
And Calamity Ganon gets all his HP.
Beating all four divine beasts dungeons, the divine beasts and the spirits of those pilots attack Ganon and drop his HP to half.
Yeah, dead king even tells you that you can, but you’re ill-equipped to do so.
Holy… shit!!
My parry game isn’t on point enough to pull that off.
Yeah, I need to start my first Master Mode playthrough before the sequel comes out!
Just watched this old video…to get some starting tips.
Do you guys have any other tips for Master Mode?
Don’t rush a Lynel while naked and with just a tree branch.
I just watched this video and followed along to get everything it showed lol.
One tip if you follow it, at the castle bit, you should see three bombable walls against the castle/cliffs that he runs right by, or jumps over. If you bomb these and open their chests, you get 300 rupees, 5x fire and 5x bomb arrows.
I did this run after I got two stamina upgrades and after I went to Kikaro village to got some ferries from the fountain and it helped a lot.
Also, for tips, really just don’t fight people you don’t have to fight.
Yeah…I already know that Lynels are “unfuckwithable” at the early parts of the game.
Got it.
And I’m shocked at how close and easily available Majora’s Mask is at the start of the game. I beat the game twice; once on Switch and about a month ago on PC (CEMU emulator) and overlooked the thing.
I had it, but the only time I used it was when I’d go hunting in the Hebra plains so I could focus on hunting. The rest of the time I had the korok mask on.
… May have to use Majora’s mask more on master. Though, I do have more fun trying to sneak around guys than just running through them, even if it takes longer, so I’ll probably still limit its use.
I don’t really like cheap things, but that’s me. I did wear the mask in the castle, but if guys got on me, I didn’t do that save/load exploit he shows. I just ran away and hid and let them cool off/move on.
I kinda feel that the game getting way easier at the end falls in line with BoTW Link’s badassery. Someone in this thread pointed out that in one of the past cutscenes where Link just finish defending Zelda from an attack and their are corpses of monsters all over the battlefield including some Lynels. This Link also apparently did deflect a Guardian laser with a pot lid as canon. Dude was a beast before he got put in stasis.
Just started playing BotW. In a weird way it reminds me of Horizon Zero Dawn.
You’re in for a great ride.
As a general rule of thumb, if you think you can do something, you probably can.
Like this:
@cdb2 In Master Mode, a single hit from a bakoblin with a spear takes like 4-5 hearts. It’s easily manageable when they’re separated, but when they swarm you, it’s almost impossible.
You have to separate them and don’t let any of them get behind you.
Bombs to blow them in different directions helps.
Shock weapons to make them drop their weapons is good too.
Always keep a few ferries on you and cook a lot of “hearty” dishes.
I never really used many attack/defence buffs in my first run, but definitely will in Master.
Combat question.
Between the perfect evade or parry, is there any benefit doing one over the other (outside of positioning)?
Evade gives you Flurry Rush. Parry reflects projectiles.
Bruh…y’all weren’t kidding about Master Mode being no joke. Just started trying to kill one blue bokobin by itself is feat…
And sucks that they and everything else has Wolverine’s healing factor!!
Havent died yet and I just got the Magnesis rune. I’m plotting out how to get to the other shrines and how to avoid that damn Lynel
UPDATE:
Alright! Taking Dinner break.
Got off of the Great Plateau and got Majora’s Mask and a horse with good stamina
Had to bypass the usual stuff to register it before making a B-line to the castle.
I always hated the blue bokoblins but now thanks to Master Mode, much hatred for them increased tenfold!!!
In some shrines there are guardians with “minor test of strength” levels of health… I actually kinda like this
Already found 42 shrines and I’m about to get the master sword.
Does anyone know, if you disable the divine beasts so you can board them, but then leave. Do they stay disabled with an active teleport spot for the rest of the game (or until you beat them)?
Until you beat them.
Thanks! Do you know if you can go straight to Ganon, kill the blights right before Ganon, and still go back to the Beasts and fight them again?
