The Legend of Zelda thread - Ganon's bodyshop will be open for business on Nov. 20th

You can mix elixers with your clothes when it comes to the super cold areas. If you have level 3 cold resistance then you will be fine during the duration regardless of what you have on. Equipping flame swords can also boost cold resistance. Death Mountain is a special case and you absolutely need an flame resistant elixir that is made from a bug natice to the area until you can get the flame resistant set. Nothing else is going to prevent you from catching on fire other than those 2 things.

Yeah before I got the proper clothing and elixirs I equipped elemental weapons. It made for a lot of menu switching for fights for the most part. I didn’t want to break the weapon so I switched to non-elemental weapons to do damage and then switched back to the elemental weapons. I avoided most fights, but when there was a weapon I wanted I would go through these steps.

Also getting the full Flame Breaker set and Snow sets then upgrading all the pieces of that armor set to 2 stars grants you additional bonuses when you wear the entire gear set
2 stars or better on all your Snow quilt armor gives you unfreezable as your set Bonus
2 stars or better on all your flame breaker armor gives you flame proof as your set Bonus

You only get a set bonus for wearing all the pieces of that set, and not all armor sets has a set bonus.

It wasn’t so much difficult as it was just fucking awesome. Really cool puzzles, reminiscent of Myst. And yeah, I was wondering if there was a connection between the name Ruto and Ruta from OoT. Good to know.

And @Femto - you get rekt, motherfucker.

Thanks for the elixirs and elemental weapon tips guys.

In trying to get away from a snowy mountain after activating a tower I ended up in the lost woods. Navigating this place is a headache.

If you can have a lit torch out and follow the way the lit embers go. And try to secure at least one of the shrines there.

Reminder you only need to activate a shrine to create a warp point… You don’t have to complete it.

I managed to get through by following the map to an area that wasn’t surrounded by trees. Found a nice surprise once I got through all that shit. I did four shines there so I should be good.

Spoiler for a Side Mission on the North East of the map:

Spoiler

I completed Torrey Town. Really cute and it was funny how everything tied together especially with the names ending in -son, haha.

You’ll continue to be rekt for the duration of the game.

I’m trying to 100% BotW before fighting Gannon, but don’t know how long I’ll be able to hold out. I have two more memories to collect with one of them being on the castle itself (I think) and I almost just went to fight Gannon because the kept pulling me in. Had to get out of there before I did it. I’m thinking about collecting what I can in there and coming back for the fight, later on, but I don’t trust myself.

So I decided last night that I was just going to try to open up as much of the map as I could. I set a course with map pins to activate towers (I had three already). Four hours later I managed to get maybe half the entire map unlocked. I still have the whole northern and northwestern portions to go. What’s amazing is that I was basically just making a beeline to each tower and it still took hours. I’d get caught up by the occasional shrine or seed mini puzzle, but it was mostly just running, climbing, and gliding. And realizing that holy shit this game is fucking huge and I don’t think I’ll ever run out of shit to do.

It really feels much like the original Zelda in the sense that there is the freedom of exploration without a clear cut path to progress. I’m starting to really feel that now. And what separates this from other open world games I’ve played is that it’s extremely satisfying just wandering around because it’s so packed full of secrets and cool things to discover. I’m thinking this might replace aLttP as my favorite by the time I’m done with it.

Do what I did and just finish the memories before you fight Ganon. If you 100-percent the game, Ganon’ll be a complete pushover - he’s not very hard as it is.

this is partially why I wished ganon had scaling difficulty, he’s honestly at his hardest if you just bum rush to him because the “fight” is something like 6-8 phases counting the blights and only drops from there as you take the beasts. Was hoping his damage or health would drastically scale to how decked out my link was by the end, or maybe just drop like 6 Lynels in the room with him or some shit for kicks

6 lynels? Jesus…

Makes me remember the insanity that is pre-Calamity Link:

He and Zelda were frequently attacked like that and he didn’t have a freaking shield. Plus, it was while protecting Zelda.

BotW Link is the most badass Link.

Nah, that’s still Wind Waker Link.

maybe.
alttp link was in many games so I’d have to say he’s the most badass by default, and i saw some video about how alttp ganon was the strongest ganon too

Wind Waker Link just gives 0 fucks about danger and has the distinction of actually killing Ganon.

Bravest Link- OG LoZ Link

Link with the biggest balls- Wind Waker Link

Most Badass Link- BotW Link

Coolest Link- Twilight Link

Coolest Link is OOT/Majora’s Mask Link

Hero’s Shade is the coolest Link.
