The Legend of Zelda thread - Ganon's bodyshop will be open for business on Nov. 20th

Fuck amiibos, it’s pretty easy to spoof them so I just do that or not use them at all.

I set fire to her flowers

So I just came across my first Lynel. Fuck me. It OHKOed my ass. I only have five hearts so I’m not sure if I should be fighting this thing yet.

Someone beat a Lynel with nothing but a shield, magnesis, and a boulder.

I’m sure you can handle it if you get good enough.

Your first meeting with a Lynel is gonna be rough. The more you fight it and watch what it’s doing the better you will be able to deal. Use elixers to stat boost yourself. If you can head shot it then go for it as it will get stunned and give you free hits, go for 2-3 hits then mount and get as many hits in to maximize damage on each stun.

shoot in in the head with arrows when its far away for critical hits, run up, smack them a few times, then mount. after the mounting button mash session is over youll be thrown off, paraglide and then shoot a few times with ur arrow (never did this part but ive seen videos of it)

up close, use dodging a lot. back flip against sword strikes and use side dodge against that rush in biting thing he does (you have all day to time this)

thats how i do it anyway

if you doing the arrow collecting quest, get your Arrows and GTFO.

Otherwise I found the Solder Armor with 2 and 3 star upgrades are helpful.

LW is partly right, you can parry the Fuck out of a Lynel. I seen dudes take out the Lynel with 1/4 a heart, naken with a basic metal shield and a Claymore.
But your timing needs to be perfect

@“chadouken!” Also…don’t try to play zoning with the Lynel. The Lynel has no issue firing arrows on you from a distance or making it rain on you if you are trying to hide and it knows you are there.

Hiding won’t work either. It will just dump arrows onto you until you come within striking distance.

Word, thanks for the advice guys. I’ll give it another shot next time I’m on.

I just did the quest where you have to shoot the weird shit off a dragon on top of Lanayru Mountain. But I only had the warm tunic the old man gave me and didn’t make any heat meals. I had a shit ton of spicy peppers, but couldn’t find a damn cook pot. Luckily a had already cooked a bunch of health meals so I had to keep healing before I froze to death. What an epic experience. I made that shit way harder than it needed to be, but I got it done!

Don’t feel bad. Everyone gets their testicles shoved down their throat the first time they fight a Lynel. The more you fight them, the more accustomed you’ll become to the beast’s attacks. And they give up some really good gear when you defeat them.

I kinda envy you chadouken. Discovering all the stuff in this game for the first time is the best.

From the dept of because we can

do people think there was some sexual tension between link and that zora guy?

Wanted to give the heads that new days for the Zelda Orchestra are up for those interested

Very tempted to go again.

Just beat the elephant dungeon. God damn.

And if you ask me Vah Ruta is the easy one, although the Bird Dungeon Vah Medoh is also not that difficult.

Spoiler

Vah Naboris (the Camel) is the hardest dungeon with the hardest boss fight (Thunderblight Ganon), with Vah Rudania can be pretty challenging if you try to take that quest to get in head on.

Also did you know each divine Beast is named after a different Zelda Character, and it’s in canon for BOTW

Spoiler

The Divine Beast Vah Ruta, named after the Zora Princess Ruto from Ocarina of Time
The Divine Beast Vah Rudania, named after Darunia from Ocarina of Time
The Divine Beast Vah Medoh, named after Medli from Wind Waker
And The Divine Beast Vah Naboris, named after the Gerudo Nabooru from Ocarina of Time

So do I need to get the good cold and heat resistant elixir? I only seem to manage to make the low level stuff and that’s useless when on mountain tops and near death mountain.

The secret to making good elixirs and least in my experience is to use more of and animal/insect and then add one monster part. So if you wanted make a fire elixir for Death Mountain you would use 4 fireproof lizards and one monster part, preferably Lizalfo tail from a fire breathing Lizalfo but a bokoblin fang would work too. The strongest effects have 3 icons of whatever element you are trying to use.

So wanted to ask if anyone else has had this happen to them? I was at the Coliseum Ruins, which is NW of Hyrule Field I believe? When I went through the front entrance there was Lynel pacing back and forth. I decided to go the back by climbing to the top from behind. Once I did that there were Moblins, Lizalfos and Bokoblins so it turned into a stealth missions more or less. I made it down to the first floor where the Lynel was, but once I got there the Lynel was gone. Anyone have this happen to them?
