The Legend of Zelda thread - Ganon's bodyshop will be open for business on Nov. 20th

the way to time the parry, if you’re like mid range away, is to wait until you see the white light, then press the button.

I literally kill guardians with pot lids and no armor.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that a Pot Lid, A POT LID, can be used as a means to defend yourself and parry death beams? I feel more comfortable running around in my boxers in this game than I ever did in Ghosts 'n Goblins.

The dodging mechanics feel weird to me. I never get the slo-mo when I feel it should activate. Sometimes I get before the enemy even swings their weapon. I can never seem to get a good feel on the timing. I’m pretty consistent with parries.

every enemy has their own timing, those major test of strength guys are hard because they pull their sear out and make you wait a bit.

You have to time the dodges later than you might feel like it should be compared with other foes.
Remember that you avoid swipes with the backflip and stabs with the sidehop as well.

I beat the whole game and got all the shrines without using anything more than just hack n’ slash for the most part.

i do the more advanced stuff just cuz. first playthrough i barely did any of it

Yeah I like that you can do it however you want to do it. I pretty much steer cleared of combat for the most part as I just found it clunky and boring. I liked exploring more than doing that.

ok one legitimate complaint about this game. there is a shrine quest that requires you to be on a pedestal on a blood moon but blood moons are random. i sat by a fire for like an hour straight, and now im at work doing this. nothin’

Blood moons occur every 8 days

nope. i literally camped for over 20

Every 8 in-game days. Full days as in a 24 hour cycle. Check the size of the moons each night… When it’s full, Blood Moon will happen at midnight.

You can check with the guy outside Dueling Peaks Stable on the status, and speed up the process by using campfires.

but i literally stayed by a campfire for over 20 days.

look at the YouTube video for under a red sky and some people have been going for like in game 600 days

If you haven’t killed any enemies in a while, it won’t occur… Since there isn’t anyone to resurrect. Go murk a bunch of dudes and you’ll get your moon.

I don’t think you can trigger the blood moon via campfire. I tried it that way too for 50+ days and nothing. But it might be possible to camp until one phase before the full moon, then wander around murdering enemies and it’ll be a blood moon the next night. Was in the process of trying that but haven’t gotten back to the game yet.

I’ve gotten them in the middle of the day before, no bullshit.

Sometimes they just happen out of nowhere, it’s weird. I had like three happen in the span of 30 minutes at one point.

I need to see what you cats are doing… I always see them at the same time intervals.

i used to think it was every 8 days too but for some reason its just not true. i think its partly random, but also tied to enemies

I’m get pissed with how often it rains in my game. I haven’t been able to climb anything in a while.
