I am watching a Bokoblin right now in the distance trying to melt ice with a torch. I’m guessing he’s trying to get one of his buddies free of the ice but that’s awesome that they programed that in.
Edit: This is probably one of the biggest dick moves I’ve done in this game. So I was intrigued to see what would happen if the Bokoblin succeeded in thawing out his friend but at the rate he was going I’d be here for hours. So I froze the guy and snuck up behind the ice block with a meteor wand out to help him thaw his buddy out and did so in a manner so they couldn’t see me immediately. They sat down and talked for a moment as I could only assume that they were catching up and/or asking the used to be frozen guy how much of a dumbass he was to be out here in -40 degree weather. I let them talk for about 6 seconds, came out of hiding with the blizzard wand and froze both of them, THEN took a korok leaf and blew them both off the cliff. Hope you guys enjoyed your reunion! =D
Yeah those guys are fairly bright, but I fight dirty- I’ll throw electric jelly, spark it, take their weapons, use hit-and-run tactics, freeze 'em and blow them off cliffs, light the camp on fire, use explosives, and anything else I can think of to fuck with people.
Only Silver Enemies and Skywatchers can hang with me now, and that’s only because they are so durable/out of reach.
I missed that post. It’s fucking spot on about how good Zelda IIs world is. I do think the second et could use a new “Home Palace” to start at since getting there from a game over is pretty simple retread, but it’s easy enough to get there that its not a huge deal.
I think the visceral reaction to Zelda II from both the fans and the developers has held this series back a bit.
So, I’ve just found out that some shrines need to be unlocked by completing chains of regular side-quests (like the one next to the fairy fountain in Kakariko)…
The game’s longevity just got a whole lot longer for me since I only planned to focus on the shrines and just mostly overlooked the rest of the side activities.
2 of some the best placed shrines imo are from the Rito village. One involving a giant snowbird and the other involving a heart. Thought it was pretty cool how the riddle and setup for those 2 were.
Apparently the new patch cleaned up some framerate issues. Should always hold a stable 30 now in undocked and while still not completely stable in docked, problem areas shouldn’t be as bad now.
No…but ive thought about fuckin with the stable guys by bringing in various mounts to see what they do. Would have been hilarious if you could bring in a Lynel but they aint having that shit.
Here’s a comparison video of before/after patch. It is pretty significant IMO. To me this clearly shows what I thought all along, that the game was just a Wii U port and they didn’t have time to tweak it for the more powerful system. Glad to see they could do such a drastic change in a short amount of time. Gives some hope for the future potential of the console at least.
Judging the merits of a system from a game that wasnt made with said system in mind is not a good idea. Doesn’t matter if the game runs well or not or how pretty the game is.
Breath of the wild is a fucking amazing game on just about every account but the end of the day this game was made for 4 or so years with the wii u’s hardware in mind. Ill be more pressed if something like xenoblade 2 or Odyssey came out and there was horrible framerate problems.
I just played for a bit on 1.1.1 patch and in docked mode, the quality of Korok Forest is not even close to what it shows in that video. That has to be in portable mode. In docked mode it was still very choppy in Korok Forest with all of the mist and sunlight coming through.
