The Legend of Zelda thread - Ganon's bodyshop will be open for business on Nov. 20th

I finally got the Master Sword! Pulling that sucker out and the build up to it made for one of my favorite moments in the game.

[details=Spoiler]
In the original LOZ, you couldn’t get the sword in the Lost Woods until you had six hearts. The fact that you need 13 hearts to pull the sword has got to be another nod to that game.[/details]

I like how you can see Death Mountain from almost any area on the map that has a good viewpoint. Not having traveled there yet, I wonder if it is going to be like LOZ Death Mountain or Zelda II Death Mountain, the hardest version of Death Mountain. Period.

2 beasts down (Rito and Zora) and picked up the Master Sword along the way. My adventures are now heading back to the lower left side of the map after uh…getting sidetracked and spontaneously combusting on Death Mountain after venturing too far onto it. Hopefully this time I actually stay around Gerudo before my ADD takes me to the other side of the map again lol.

I got dat Ancient Proficiency. Guardians ain’t shit to me now.

About to go on a tour of south Hyrule in the Faron region… May go Dragon Hunting since using horn shards in cooking recipes gives you a MASSIVE boost to the duration of buffs.

Probably at some point should go to akkala and make that ancient armor. Been exploring around so much I have jewels spilling out of my inventory. Should have enough guardian parts to to make some parts of it by now…then I can try to go for that memory in hyrule castle.

Think I’ve stalled long enough. Got all 4 divine beasts, the entire map revealed, the Master Sword, and a club with 95 power. Once I get this last memory at Hyrule Castle I’m gunning for Ganon.

I’m clocking in at 140 hours so I might as well. I can finish off the rest of the shrines and whatnot afterwards.

just a heads up, talk to impa before you fight ganon after you get the last memory. I did what you said and I missed out on something. Luckily the game lets you go back and keep playing after beating the game.

I didn’t realize I missed out on an entire quest line in Kakariko involving Paya because I missed another side quest with the girl outside the armor shop.

Make sure you visit their house at night.

Easing off of the game since beating it. I’m just durdling around collecting and upgrading everything now. I aim to eventually get every shrine for the LoZ tunic, I’m at 93 without checking any guides as to where the others are.

So I found another shrine that I’m having trouble unlocking. I have to land on an altar using gusts of wind. Do I have to land right in the middle of it? And do I have to use the gusts?

Is that the one [details=Spoiler] near water with a large stone outcropping in the middle? You have to destroy all the rocky bits including the one that’s on the underside of the outcropping. I was too hard headed to just use a bomb arrow so I attached an octorok balloon to a bomb and let it float over. Then just use the final gust of wind to land on the platform.

I’m at 104 myself and I’m debating stopping there,
especially after hearing Aonuma stating that he designed the game’s secrets with the idea of sharing information among friends to find them in mind since, well… I don’t have any.
Then again, I’ve shared tips and hints with fellow gamers over the internet since I got the game, so maybe I could look up a map for the general location of the last few shrines left and see it as a helping hand from people I can consider as friends through shared interests… Or maybe that’d ruin the intended experience, I really don’t know.

Lately all I’ve been doing is looking at my map for significant empty patches. Managed a few more shrines. Like I JUST found the place with the three Hinox brothers lol.

That’s been my go-to method thus far as well and it carried me to 100 well enough,
though I’ve been surprised at how close the last few shrines have been to one another after I began combing the map more systematically.
It makes sense since those are the ones I haven’t looked for, I guess. Maybe just taking my time to slowly make my way through the entirety of the map is the only course of action left.

Yep, I still remember her mentioning to come back after all the memories were found.

Killed my first Silver Lynel. I haven’t fought a whole lot of Lynels but these guys are getting much easier to handle. The Knight’s Armor is the best armor I’ve got thus far and along with high defense, it lessened the damage considerably.

There is something very satisfying about cutting the legs off a Guardian, watching it flail about to to put distance between itself and you for another beam only for you to go in and chop off more of it’s legs. I get more enjoyment out of going in and cutting them up then I do deflecting their beams. The Master Sword does decent damage to them when my Ancient Weapons break.

Spoiler

Yeah, I destroyed all of the rocks and the altar lit up, but I’m still having problems. Not sure what I’m missing. If I just use the gusts, I don’t seem to get far enough. I don’t think I can cheat by using a cliff or something. I’ll figure it out.

You need to use a slightly higher point to get into the wind to ride to the altar. Either follow the gusts from the beginning (there’s updrafts that will lift you high enough by the time you get to the end) or climb up the surrounding rocks and then jump into gust to the altar from there.

Beat the game. Well, the main story at least.

…suddenly I feel a little empty inside. The final boss encounter was fantastic though.

Doing a 3 heart run of this game is gonna be nuts…

now just level everything up and wander around

You gotta make sure to eat your hearty veggies.
It’s a pretty good message for picky kids, I suppose.
