The Legend of Zelda thread - Ganon's bodyshop will be open for business on Nov. 20th

I found that horse. Called it Ganon.

Currently stuck on Kuh Takkar shrine trying to get past the last set of flames. Also,

[details=Spoiler] found a shrine near Yiga Clan hideout but don’t know how to open it. I thought I had to present a sapphire but nothing happened. Can’t think of any other blue stones.

Went and got that memory that was just south of Hyrule Castle. Only had to put an Ancient Arrow in one guardian along the way but good lord was it kind of tense with me having to sneak about so I didn’t get spotted. There were a few times that I had a close calls but there was the one guardian that was guarding the forest area I needed to go through so I had to legolas his ass AND THEN I ALMOST GOT SNIPED BY ONE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF ME IN THE PROCESS. I had to hurry up before it got bad. I really want that memory that’s somewhere I think to the right of Hyrule Castle…may have to talk to that painter again to tell me again.

That memory at the castle is literally within the limits of the castle proper… You can get to it without getting murked, but your Solid Snake impression needs to be on point.

Fought a Blue Lynel earlier… Those guys are the most fun enemies to fight. Hinox is a close second, though.

The Switch has “Play Activity” in my profile. It currently says I’ve been playing for at least 80 hours, but it doesn’t give an exact time.

I’m very excited for hard mode. I’ve been getting used to the combat system more, since during my playthrough i sort of ignored it in favor of stealth and hit and run.

I want nothing less than dark souls levels of difficulty or even harder.

That’s sorta what happened on my first Lynel battle. Defeated it then a blood moon… And then I struggled to kill the second one. Worth it!

Apparently cooking right before a Blood Moon *(between 11:30pm-12:00am)*yields better results, as your chances of a “critical cook”, the one with a gong sound effect, is maxed out.

Critical cooks give your dishes longer duration on effects, more hearts, maxed buffs, etc.

i like to play the snowling game in the hebra mountains. through trial and error i found the sweet spot to get strikes everytime. every strike is 300 rupees. it cost 20 per game so its 280 profit each time

thats what i do when im using two handed swords.

How much does it help though? I feel like most of the smaller enemies just get KD on the second hit anyway so do you just jump and land so you can dodge sooner, or do you go for a downward strike, which on enemies that don’t get KD still leaves you somewhat unsafe? I do it if I know I just need one more quick hit to kill, but that’s about it.

I wonder if there’s any thing that can be exploited by switching weapons mid fight. I’ll have to try that out when I get home.

Edit: OH WAIT no I don’t I brought my Switch with me lol

And here NeoBlood remembered why he bought the Switch in the first place.

Made it to the very top of hyrule castle. the VERY top. theres something up there but i wont reveal what it is

That fuckin’ slow walk away from the explosion… I did the same fucking shit first time I pulled it off.

Forgot I could take a selfie, though, lol…

I think the production team may be the biggest Zelda nerds of all:

So I hit a Lynel with an Ancient Arrow out of curiosity of what would happen aaand…it looked like the Lynel got sucked into a black hole and completely vanished. I’m halfway expecting it to reappear out of nowhere because they’ve disappeared before. Kinda reminded me of the Blackhole bullet from Outlaw Star…

Unfortunately if it’s really dead…it took all of it’s stuff with it.

I’ve also been messing with the AI for Lynels to see what they do and how they react and I’ll report findings later.

On the weapon durability:

I’m neutral on the system. A permanent weapons set would kill off any need to explore and take weapons. It would be perhaps a little less cumbersome to swap weapons during combat but that leads me to my other note. If they tweak the system and make all weapons varying types of durable along with a way to give weapons a bit more durability (a blacksmithing option that would add bonuses). then it would be far better than it is.

example. Bokoblin/moblin weapons are frail and easy to break but are plentiful and have the most variants. Ancient weapons are the most durable but rarely have any variants. Elemental rods are the most frail if you use them physically against enemies but can last a LONG time if you simply use their element.

LOL… It was only a matter of time before people started embarrassing the fuck out of Lynels:

This Jimmyqballs guy has a whole playlist of him trivializing the combat in this game.

ok so NOW I think I have the best money making setup. The ice bowling was decent but took too long for my taste. The gambling exploit was for me easier to do but took even longer if you guessed wrong and had to re load your save. I’ll stick to hunting meat which when you stack meat skewers makes just under 2x it’s value when frozen or individually cooked (which is what I was doing) 4x it’s value raw. a 15 rupee prime meat cooked or frozen is upped to 28 but if cooked into a skewer with 4 more pieces of the same quality ant it’s 210 (making each piece worth 42). simply put use meat for money and money only. I cannot believe I was so inefficient earlier.

I still stand by what I said before, I love cooking in this game and it’s worth the time invested.

Lynel’s are piss-easy to beat once you know all their attack patterns. As fun as it can be, their attacks are waaaaaaaay too telegraphed.

…again I hope hard mode is more than just “take more damage, less health bonuses and enemies hit harder,” 'cause that won’t really make it harder.
