The Legend of Zelda thread - Ganon's bodyshop will be open for business on Nov. 20th

I want to see a comparison to Xenoblade X.

this game has longevity written all over it. i think the speed run community is gonna have a lot to do with this.

im pretty excited to start a minimalist run myself

I really hope there’s never a 100% complets category at a gdq cause it would never end

“Day 6 of GDQ and bigbluetriforce is 12% done with the game”

I can see maybe a 100% shrine run, but otherwise I think the speedrun will consist mostly of getting to Ganon as fast as possible.

Question: if a set has a bonus, is there a way to tell, or is it hidden?

my guess is that its hidden.

Actually, I just got some clothes that shows me the bonus. That means that all the upgraded gear I have now don’t have a bonus.

It’ll tell you what the bonus is.

Spoiler

If you upgrade all 3 pieces of the Zora Armor to level 2 and have it all equipped, it’ll tell you that you use up less stamina when dashing in water.

Doing 100% in a speedrun will be nuts. Weather alone makes it too hard to optimize a run.

I think the Koroks would have more of a say in that than weather lol

Someone has already beaten it in under an hour.

Armor sets won’t give a bonus until they’ve been upgraded twice.

Who else here got the korok that’s at the resurrection bed you wake up in at the beginning of the game? Lol

Hey @Mood4food77

Is this the horse you were talking about a few days ago?

Just found it today thanks to a side quest.[/details]

Yes

i’m really trying to enjoy botw. i really am but i just can’t. its everything i’ve purposely avoided when it comes to modern day rpg’s.

i kinda regret buying a switch just for zelda when i’m not liking this zelda at all. if i had just gotten it for the wii u i would have just taken the loss and move on.

at least i have MK8D and Splatoon 2 to look forward to. i also have super bomberman r to fall back on.

what do you mean? i tend to not play too many real rpgs so I’m not entirely sure what you’re talking about, but at least the “grinding” is tied to exploration, and you do a puzzle instead of killing rabbits and little monsters for 12 hrs

on an unrelated note, the white lynel is the toughest enemy ive found in the game. I’d be interested in an enemy tier list for botw. i think white lynels are #1, calamity Ganon #2, then thunderblight Ganon etc

So Lizalfos arms act like boomerangs when you throw them. Interesting

Must be one of Kokuoh’s offspring. That’s a huge horse.

Some of the females in Gerudo…good lawd. What have they been eating? Some of them are definitely in ‘ME WANT SNU SNU’ territory.

…that moment when you defeat a Blue-maned Lynel right before a Blood Moon…causing an immediate respawn

Essentially doubled my loot though so I can’t complain.

Went to Hyrule Castle today to see if I could make it there just since I activated Central Tower last night before the epic chases. I ended up getting somewhat decent in there and then was one shot by a red Lizfalos. It was dumb because I had a bomb around the corner waiting for him but my arrow went over his head, then…One-Shot, haha. I just wanted to get close to the castle originally, but I figured “Well I’m here what’s another few steps…”.

Beat the Shrine next to the castle (forgot the name) but it was combat trial and pretty easy. Ended up getting the Guardian Spear and another spear, I won’t speak of because of spoilers (?). I do wanna grab the Divine Beast bu~ut since I’m at Hyrule Castle now, I think I I’ll try to make it and see what happens. If not, it’ll be back to looking for shrines and activating towers for fast travel.

On another note, only had to ding one Guardian on my way to the castle. I shot a regular arrow when it was targeting me, and I was able to escape.
