as long as it comes to pc…I’m 100% getting it. Fuck the haters…could care less about hating on the game for minimal trivial shit.
and I have never watched a airbender/korra episode or show. could care less about the source material. I just wanna play more action games, or have more action titles of the beat em up/DMC/Bayo type than whats already on pc.
that’s all.
I like the GameTrailers crew, so it’s nice to hear Brandon Jones and Michael Damiani talking about the Comic Con demo:
On a side note, I’ve been watching the anime/cartoon with my wife these past weeks, I’m still on Book 2 of The Last Air Bender but we’re really enjoying the show.
It’s not exactly “adult material”, but it’s much more interesting on a “adult sense” than Dragon Ball or Saint Seiya, for instance.
I’ve changed the title, to better reflect how some of us feel about the game! lol
I’ve been watching the anime/cartoon since the initial anouncement of the game, I’m halfway trough the 2nd season of Korra and I’m not that impressed, especially comparing to The Last Airbender.
BTW, The Last Airbender is one of the best (if not the best) animes/cartoons I have ever saw, miles above the likes of Pokemon or even Dragonball.
I used to really like Pokemon back in the late 90s/early 2000s, I even went to the theater to watch the first two movies, but it never striked me as anything beyond a kid’s cartoon.
TLA is also for kids, obviously, but I found so much more content/subtext for an adult. It’s also a self-contained, concise and well written and developed story.
Animes like Dragonball or Saint Seyia (both I used to love) are nice for teens and pre-teens, but there’s just so much fillers, procrastination and bullshit dialogues that it’s hard for an adult to re-watch them.
Mind you, this is my opinion now, with 35… maybe when I was 15~20 I’d probably like DBZ more, since the battles (altough drag out to the point of annoyance) are more intense than most found in TLA (well, except maybe the last one against the Fire Lord).
The Pokemon part I won’t fault you on, but for me Dragonball >>>>>>> TLA. Aang always felt like a poor man’s kid Goku to me and Dragonball is way better when it comes to exploration and character development.
Maybe if they could cut down the length of the whole series to 1/3 of the original, removing all those bullshit dialogues during the fights and all the unnecessary flashbacks, I could better appreciate the story.
I’m actually looking forward to that because I know there’s a lot of fans of Korra and I didn’t believe that the show got them in the first 2 seasons, so I was already expecting to be blown away by Season 3.
Give it an honest chance, it has some of the best fight choreography in animation and live-action. It’s basically an animated martial-arts epic, think of ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ or Jet Li’s ‘Hero’ with mystical powers and some modest comedy.
That’s pretty much what ‘Avatar: TLA’ and ‘The Legend of Korra’ is in a nutshell.
