The Legend of Korra: The other Platinum game for October

I just wanna be able to do that elemental ball that Aang did against Ozai.

i can kind of see where you can read this in a different light, but i meant gory and aimed at older audiences version

those two terms are not antithetical

Just adding gore, blood, or sex to your work for no reason other than that you think it makes it more “mature” is actually incredibly juvenile. Case in point, Mortal Kombat. Korra doesn’t suddenly become better if everyone becomes horribly disfigured every time they take a fireball to the face. Add those things because you have a reason to. Being “mature” is when a work tackles actually mature subject matter about the human condition and treats it with respect.

The show is, in addition to kids, being aimed at older audiences already. Particularly the age group that would have grown up watching Last Airbender.

I could play the whole game at a higher resolution and get this:

It did not slow down and drop frames!

Crazy, I know!

It doesn’t frame drop enough for it to matter on console anyway.

Crazy, I know!

The demo I played slowed down like nuts (PS3). I wouldn’t be surprised if it was hitting 55fps consistently and it still all looked muddy as hell.

I blame aging technology. Devs did all they could.

The PS3 you were using sucked.

I’m really excited to see what they do for the boss battles. I think Platinum is the only AAA developer that makes boss battles as truly interesting and fun as they do. There are some other good ones out there, but I just don’t feel like any of them are on the same level.

That’s because you played the demo.

The only slowdown the final game has that is really noticeable is when you cut way more than necessary in Blade mode. And there was definitely none at any point that mattered.

yes i want to add ridiculous amounts of blood and gore like that piece of garbage fighting shit filth you mentioned.

i know that adding all that shit without any cause would not look good or even fit with the themes. I would however, like to see in battles if people actually kind of got wounded, or cut, or bled AT ALL. it’s cool that they used real martial arts as a basis for many of the moves and the motions in the show, and they try to be somewhat realistic in certain aspects (inb4 spirits and obviously bending as a whole), i respect this.

I’m just saying they could also extend a line of reality toward people getting wounded, so maybe gore was not the correct term. and sex? dude did i even mention that? also do you REEEEEAAAAALLLLY want another love triangle awkward as fuck arc?

god knows when someone is smashed against a wall with water or air, they should at least be coughing up blood or something, instead they just slump down and the camera pans over

Silly me playing a demo to get a feel for a game.

It says at the beginning of the demo that it is a work in progress so it is a bit silly of you. Not terribly so…but a little bit. You coming almost a year after the fact to make a claim about the entire games console performance when you don’t actually know since all you played was around 15 minutes of an unfinished version is really silly tho. I mean come on you have to admit that’s pretty silly.

Nah it’s not so silly. I’m not denying the disclaimer was there, I don’t remember it but the difference on PC afterwards in the visuals, fluidity the amount of shit that can be on screen with no issues whatsoever while cutting an enemy into way way more pieces than is necessary really spoiled me.

Yea, that’s fine. It’s still funny you waited extra long for a miniscule bump in fps, a higher resolution even tho the games not rendered in said resolutions, and the ability to cut stuff up into more pieces, noneof which have any kind of real impact on the game, due to judging the product based on early code you where told about.

Sorry man I find it silly. Makes me giggle a little. shrug

Dat PC Master Race doe right?

Well to be totally honest I didn’t wait for it on PC initially, I was waiting for a price drop and then they announced it on PC and I figured why not wait just a little bit longer to get it where it will always be “backwards compatible”.

Yea i can’t wait to buy a beast ass PC some day and play games in manors unintended. Gonna dope!

You can build one for a little more than a PS4 and have it outshine the PS4 by a wide margin.

Yea I know but I can’t afford a PS4 right now. Shit I can’t afford a Wii-U and I want one of those more then the other two. Life sucks balls like that sometimes.

I feel that. I got lucky for a while and bought a PC and WiiU.

Honestly, a demo should only be used to judge a game based on it’s systems. It’s a demo, so stuff like graphics optimizations and the like are going to be happening probably up until the last moment.

It really DOES NOT make sense to judge a final product in it’s entirety based only on a demo that was created before the game was done. Demos are just that, “demonstrations” and you should really only think of them as demonstrations of systems.
