The Legend of Korra: The other Platinum game for October

this is probably too wishful, but if you could fight vaatu with raava or something i think that’d be insanely epic

It makes sense if you know physics.

Am I the only one that doesn’t think Airbending needs a subset?

Airbending is already pretty damn broken. It just happens to be wielded by a bunch of peace-loving nomadic monks… The same monks whose leader Gyatso murked an entire Fire Nation platoon before going down.

Don’t fuck with Airbenders.

Yea I keep thinking about it and not only can I not really come up with a sub bending catagory for them, I can’t come up with a reason for why. Air Bending so broke with just a little bit of thought into it, not much reason they would even need a subset of bending skills.

Nope, that’s already lightning bending.

Well Kyoshi did bend magma when she separated from the mainland to form her island and they showed that jafar looking avatar in the avatar state magma bending but those were just flash backs

I agree air bending needs an OP subset, has any air bender ever tried sucking the air out of someone’s body? You’d think mastery over air would give you some kind of Darth Vader force choke power.

Another idea is instead of using air bending to fly and blow away people, can’t someone pressurize and condense the air creating microscopic air bullets? That would be pretty OP, except in space lol.

How Lightning bending works has to do with chi not plasma.

Spoiler

I think the subset has something to do with being weightlessness in what that guy said in the first episode

I think the dude is saying that lightning is plasma. I was going to say that as well when dude said plasma for airbending, but I wasn’t that sure about it. Google tells me that it is definitely involved.

Also cats there was mud bending too between Toph and Katara.

Except lighting, and fire to an extent, are forms of plasma.

Plasma is basically ionized particles and one of the easiest ways to ionize particles is through heat - fire itself can be considered plasma once the temperature gets high enough (Azula’s blue fire?). Even if firebenders don’t directly create lightning, they’re still bending it using their chi to direct/redirect it.

I know I’m late, but I’ve updated the first post with a snip from this hands-on preview.

Thanks for the heads up

no actual gameplay just yet, but for the people who are too lazy to watch the video:

basic moves: weak attack, strong attack, finisher, x = jump, right trigger is dodge, left trigger is almost witch time-y timing, but different effects than in Bayo

Elements: earth is the strongest (also slowest), fire is short range, water is long range (weakest), airbending is all around.
Key: You start off with none due to game’s storyline, but as you unlock them, you can switch between all 4 on the fly (JIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ)

also charge moves will be in the game with a meter (not charge motion, i think just powered up type of attacks)

EDIT: I didn’t really see that someone updated the original post, but this is even more TL;DR

Thanks, I’ll update the OP with this video, since watching a video is easier than reading about the hands-on for some people.

This is what I’m saying. Try doing all that Kung Fu shit to bend when there’s no air to breathe, or inside of a tornado.

too bad it was a kids show aka no creativity in kills

also no kills almost ever

honestly if they made a gory more mature version, i’d probably be down. not just focused on the battles tho

I’m interested to see if this marks the beginning of Platinum doing simultaneous releases on PC from now on.

I hated waiting so long for the good version of MGR.

So you want them to make an oxymoron?

So we’re going to be able to go in the avatar state right?

I imagine that it will be equivalent to Witch Time/Devil Trigger, and work off of a meter you build up by playing well.
