The League of Legends Thread: Winter is...coming?

I haven’t updated the spreadsheet but I’m fairly certain if I filled out EVERY champion I played I’d have at least 30 of them. I have about 50 unlocked, lots that I haven’t used.

80 by 10 minutes is standard, and 200 by 20 aswell, I was just exaggerating low skill

Yeah, there’s probably 5-10 or so on my list that I’m not the most confident with just because I haven’t put the time into them yet, I like the spreadsheet though because it shows my possibilities right there when I go to play if I wanna play weird stuff like Jungle Cho.

Yo if we’re allowed to do weird stuff I’m cracking out my Jungle Veigar and my Fiora Mid.

I’m actually a beast with Karma as well :stuck_out_tongue: I have 5 : 0 KDA with her in ranked. I used to run Promote on Karma and take her Solo Top where I’d cast exploding shields on the siege minion and clear the lane instantly from a mile away… so troll.

Weird stuff that actually sees high level play >_>

lol Karma sees high level mid play, SGS ran a shield comp that was pretty fucking nuts that I’m sure would crush people.

I hit that sometimes just not every time if I’m too focused trying to push the opponent off their farm. Point still stands, nobody’s gonna learn playing with other bad players. If you feel like you’re too good for that then don’t play with us, go off and do your own thing. You better get that money though, otherwise all that big talk is pointless.

My favorite “weird thing” is jungle Irelia, but too many people have problems with me doing it at champ select, so I rarely ever do it. I always did good with it though so, whatever

Didn’t the Rioters get hammered by a bunch of top players running 5 support? Karma mid, AD Sona w/ Janna, Taric Top, Leona Jungle or something lol.

We can pioneer the new meta! Create our own top - level play, that Veigar jungle is brutal dude.

Whoa whoa whoa sir.

I don’t think you get where I’m really coming from with this on SRK. I want to get a solid ranked team with 5 or so of our better players and do well in Ranked 5’s sure.

But I wouldn’t have proposed two other teams for the lower skilled players to scrim with the main team and play against other teams if I didn’t want to get those players at a higher level, I didn’t mean that I was going to like, shove a bunch of scrubs on two teams and make them play eachother all day long, fuck that, that’d suck, I want everyone to get better, not just the ones who are already solid :stuck_out_tongue:

What I would like is for the lower teams to post replays for the higher skilled players to point things out for the other roles that they notice and ect. I want a learning experience overall, not just one group of guys and some spectators.

And I’m curious, what big talk are you talking about? :o

Shots fired.

I was thinking this’d be a good idea as well. Is that LOL Replay thing easy to figure out? I’ve heard of it but never used it.

Added. What’s your IGN?

Right? I wasn’t even holding a knife either :frowning:

LOLRecorder is super easy to setup, download, install, leave running in task bar, it’ll record every game you play while it’s open and save them as .LRF files for you. We could share and swap games or even just upload them onto the LoLRecorder server.

My only problem with it is that it doesn’t save them as actual video files, it’s like SF4 replays, where it just compiles what happens during X second and compiles it all and spits it out. Otherwise, very easy program to use, love it.

Thing is who determines who are the higher skilled players? The only person who could probably do that would be bit or marn.

It’s not even who is the highest skilled at the moment. It’s who’s willing to put in the time and dedication to actually get there and acheive that level of skill. Bit doesn’t post much when he does, and Marn’s probably too busy training with his own team and getting really good to make large posts and judge people.

And to answer your question in another way…it’s not too hard to determine player skill after you play like ten matches with them and get a feel for how they position themselves and how they play overall, along with how well they communicate and work as a teammate and not a Call of Duty scrub running into 1v5s mid lane and shit.

Just a note, I’m not saying I’m a high skilled player at all, I don’t think I am. But it seems like a bunch of you guys wanted a team to happen and I was the one with the motivation to get it rolling and I felt that it would be nice to play with some more seriously minded people as I get better myself and get ready to stream Season 3. Feel free to branch out and make your own casual teams and the like, but I want people with dedication and the ability to learn and take criticism with a smile, I hope that isn’t too much to ask.

I’m judging all of you always. My skill is most High.

Fuck you Nega, you never taught me how to play this game when I was a Maokai sapling :frowning:

When I get my new PC you’ll have t teach me some o dat DoTA, right now my framerates aren’t good enough for me to want to play it.

Not at all man, was just reading http://www.reignofgaming.net/blogs/a-different-view/gentleman-gustaf/21424-how-to-improve-your-game-like-a-gentleman and realized that the definition of a better player is a lot higher than we may think.

And wtf negaduck, coming back after saying you’re just selling your account and want someone else to make a new thread :open_mouth:

This is an awesome article, I suggest everyone that’s interested in these teams should read it, and thank you for the link!

The biggest issue I feel out of the majority of lower-skilled players is blaming others, bar-none. There’s always something you can do to make your situation better, and if you’re constantly doing that in every game, than you will get better.

I’m really loving reading this.

“Those things weren’t ‘man, this guy sucks’, or ‘My team, man’. Those two things were ‘God, I suck’ and ‘That was my bad’ (followed by my explaining why, if I was dead or not too occupied). Why are these two things important to say? Because acknowledging that you made a mistake makes you feel bad, and makes you not want to make that mistake again.”

That’s such a big quote and something I’ve been doing over the past few months to get the same effect he talks about.

This article is easily something of a staple read for everyone in this thread if you haven’t already. <3

This is also part of the reason why I feel watching your own games and having others watch them is so important in becoming better, quicker. It’s hard to point out your mistakes as you make them sometimes, the ability to watch your own matches and have others do so is a blessing for gameplay management.

I really need to read more RoG articles, these things get my dick hard. Bookmarked.

What’re everyone’s thoughts on ELOBuff? Has anybody used it and how does it compare to other stat tracking sites? Basically, is it really worth $6 a month?

Edit: I had orginally already made the Team SRK ranked team and had invited 4-6 people along with it the past few days based on the skill level of the people I’ve actually seen play, which, as I come to realize, isn’t that many of you that are actually interested. I’m going to remove everyone from the current roster and have no problems giving up captainship once we get the skill graph set out.

We all need to play with eachother and determine who we think the strongest and most dedicated 9 players are before moving ahead. If someone would propose an idea to help get this setup while I’m away tonight and some of tomorrow that would be great, I’d love to get cracking on this ASAP.

I’ve tried to go through and add everyone that was interested to my friends list, but I’m not sure if I’ve missed some of you, if you haven’t been active the past few days, or some other reason.

My IGN is RazerlPapaRhino and I’ll be awaiting anymore requests, because right now I think I could fit almost everyone onto one team :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably the best way to evaluate people is to have their lanes situated in a way so that they can counterpick and get counterpicked. That way you see their highest potential and their method of adapting.

I agree.

Did you mention if you wanted to take part in these teams or not? I always forget your IGN, weird ass SRK handle -_-

Also if anyone would be so kind as to PMing me information regarding setting up a high quality stream and other articles and tips that go with getting viewers and subscribers and the like, that would be awesome, I won’t be starting it imminently when Season 3 starts (well…hopefully I will be), but I’d like to get a head start on my research tomorrow morning if someone would be so kind
