at the same time, heres hoping for higher-execution combos in ultimate that will actually be worth the time to do

It will only be given one year before Ultimate MVC3 AE 2013 comes out.
The lack of loops and heightened hitsun of Ultimate makes me uneasy.
But yeah, I think Vanilla is about 50% explored. Even higher tiered characters like Viper, Zero, and Dante aren’t near their full potential yet.

That’s actually exactly my beef with how fast Vanilla is getting tossed aside. All of these characters got nerfed because the community has established them as powerhouses but Viper only recently established herself as a legitimate force in MVC3, so she gets no tweaks.
I didn’t really like/get into MvC3 that much, the game was one of the 1st games where I didn’t want to play with most of the cast cuz I didn’t care for em, save for Dormammu and Shuma, UmvC3 brings me characters I like and want to master not to mention chanced a few things I didn’t like about MvC3. So the farewell isn’t so hard for me to say.

Yeah, that was a jab at Seth’s PR bs. One day (as in, release), I want to see all of this “hidden tech” in a compilation video by Capcom as their own Farewell. But that won’t happen, because I’m sure it’s nonexistant.
I mean, I understand Seth’s on the road a lot of the time and probably only gets time to practice what he’s going to demo, but still…

I think the hidden Shuma tech was that if you used Mystic Stare and switched him out after waiting 1 second, your incoming character basically had a free combo because the eyeballs would explode as your opponent was dashing to come and meet you.
Also Mystic Stare has a 100% gauranteed explosion if Shuma is switched out

Which is stupid. Why keep it hidden if nobody’s going to ever play Vanilla again? There will be tech to discover in Ultimate anyway, so it’s not like it ruins any surprises or anything.

His Jumping Med must be blocked high but it can hit low to the ground, also causes a screen switch for a blocked opponent if preformed directly above them
Hyper Mystic Smash goes through Pheonix Inferno (almost completely) and Hyper Sentinel Force (somewhat)
Devitalization blocks fire-ball like projectiles
Shuma can avoid on block disadvantage frames with crouching heavy because he can jump cancel and preform and instant overhead with aerial mystic smash L.
Invincible back-dash
Has no crumple animation

I used to think KBeast and Chrisis were very far behind Marlinpie’s Viper but now its evident that they are catching up fast. Marlin’s Magneto blows both of theirs out of the water though.
Zero has just now gotten credibility too as a wrecking machine and for pages the Balance Thread was crying about how hopeless it is to play against one and how it would be easier to just drown in tears instead of fighting him [seriously that shit was depressing guys]. He got buffed. That, and the Zero that got him credibility wasn’t even using any technical stuff or huge damage output combos. I’m a pretty big stream monster and I’m fairly certain Nini Heart is the only fucking Zero I’ve seen use the Steb ender.

On topic Ultimate brings every character I asked for in Umvc3/MVC3 so I’m Simply happy with the new version. I do agree that its really sad that a huge amount of the cast doesn’t see game time but its not just our fault I mean who wants to play low tier?
