The last ROM thread...info on how to perform the ROM infinite inside

I’ve been practicing rom with PSY AAA, sometimes I hit it but only for a total of 10 hits,lol. I read where someone said that you should keep them low to sj back up quick enough to keep the comboc counter going. But I’ve seen videos of people hitting the rom in what looks like mid air…???

I do PSY assit, sj. lk, lk, addf, lk, land… repeat

whats this down lk method I keep hearing about?

no matter how hard I try I can’t ROM on an arcade stick
i can’t reach lk fast enough after the ad/df, i’m a 4th of a second off

itz funny because I quit magneto, just because I can’t ROM
my Mag is good, but the only way for me to kick ass is to learn ROM, w/o ROM my mag is garbage

Magneto’s j.d+lk or sj.d+lk keeps the opponent at approximately the same height, as opposed to his j.lk or sj.lk, which hits them up much higher. This allows Mag his ROM infinite.

When you addf, the joystick is at down-forward position, right? d+lk (or any other special “down”-normal) can be triggered when the joystick is at db, d, or df, so you can get the d+lk as long as you hit lk while the stick is at df.

Jaron, there are good Mag players with terrible execution. ROM doesn’t make a bad player good, only good players great.

There are a few set-ups with Psy-AA that all lead to different heights. The on you’re doing leaves them the highest. The next one down you would do like this:

c.lk + Psy, c.lk, walk, c.lk, c.hk (sjc), sj.lk ad/df + lk, pause, lk, land

But to leave them as low to the ground as I possibly can, I do:

c.lk + Psy, c.lk, walk, c.lk, c.hk (sjc) ad/d + lk, lk, land

Also, don’t forget that once you actually get them into the ROM loop and super jump up with light kick, light kick, don’t forget to pause the last light kick on the way back down to allow them to drop a lttle. As quick as you can on the way up to stop them from rising, and as slow as you can on the way down to ensure they drop.

Demon, thanks also. What you said at the bottom helped for a second but then I lost it,lol. Do you mean delay the second lk on the way up and delay the lk after the addf lk?

like PSY, Sj, lk (pause) lk, addf+lk (pause) lk

Oh yeah… whats c.lk, walk, and sjc?

I’am thinking c.lk is crouching lk. But IDK what you mean by walk and sjc

Okay, if you want to practice the ROM, use this set-up, I’ll write it out for you.

crouching light kick and Psy, crouching light kick (Psy lifts them up), walk forward and juggle with crouching light kick, crouching heavy kick, super jump cancel and air dash down, light kick, light kick, (set-up end), super jump light kick, light kick, air dash down forward, light kick, pause, light kick, land etc…

As quick as you can on the way up to stop them from rising, and as slow as you can on the way down to ensure they drop.

why do it with striker?? Mag can do the inf.rom setup easily…

but, any idea to to it with Sent or Cable??

Hmm, I assume your using the rp assist for sent, but just sj lkx2, ad/df, lkx2, simple just set it up
Cable’s assist is a little harder, c.lkx2+assist, sj as soon as you can, lkx2, ad/df lkx2
it took me a week to do this one, itz omega difficult.

or if you happened to hit them twice in the air, then do

c.lk+Sent _ c.mk dash sj.lk sj.mk addf sj.d+lk sj.mk [ROM]

It’s not a great setup.

But it works.

Cable’s grenade assist right before you throw them can get you ROM. I think HK throw is best.

I need Cable’s anti air assist to help my Sent in fly mode…

I tried his anti air assist works for ironman inf. but, never work for mag…

I cant seem to get the RH right after the c.HP launcher. Do I do it on the way up or the way down?

c.HP , SJ, FK so as ur going up u do the fierce kick and it will knock them back down and u would ADDF to them and give x2 LK. and proceed from there. the main thing i realized that i been havin probs with is like i can do c.HP, SJ, FK, ADDF, lk,lk, Sj, lk,lk, after that going back down on them im so use to doin it a certain way on a DC controller i was watching someone on a arcade stike i just gotta get use to slidein my fingers down over the buttons to get that first lk as i go down so it comes out fast then i can give that split sec delay to do another lk after and keep them up

im having the same problem i keep giving up on mags then i go back to him then give up on him cuz roming is so fun and not being able to rom isnt fun

What does sj.rh mean?
I’ve just been using the lks and get a cylindar effect to happen.

sj.rh = sj.hk means a roundhouse while in super jump mode.

Yea im usin mags for sure but who i mix him with is another story from now on lol.
