Too bad almost zero Kyo players use his DP+C. Too busy mashing St/f.st C and far St.D thinking they can win with that. I see it KOF XI/2002/NGBC. It’s so hard to come across an impressive Kyo nowadays.
This is the truth…only time I gotta play Kyo smart rushing him down is if he uses DP+A/C CORRECTLY…other than that I’ll rush his ass down with Duo Lon all damn day!!!
If I play Kyo I use DP+A/C, St.A AND Down+C…the Mexican Uppercut…esp if they Normal jump Down+C is a winner…
Most don’t use that anymore either…
ALso Jumping Down+C can only do so much with Kyo even vs. DL’s Jumping C,E and the other stuff.
Some more KOFXI vids w/ Whip Leader, Elizabeth Leader and other stuff…

dang too bad i cant play any of you, i got a good kyo:rock:
Well I do plan on heading to Cancun someday so watch out lol.
EDIT- How many of you plan on going to EVO World? Theres gonna be quite the KOFXI action going on there as I am planning maybe Team Battle or Team tournament of some sort that will feature the following:
Team Juarez, Mexico v1.0 (Kane9999 & Dark Geese) vs. California (The Answer, K4, Guero, Razmos) vs. Japan (Mago, Kindevu)
I am thinking of instead of having all these money matches and exhibitions we could just hype shit up with a KOFXI Team Tournament!!! (Round Robin everyone plays everyone if we are just limited to these teams!)
What do you all think? Does this sound like a kick ass idea to you all? This shit would be MADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD HYPE!!!

A few matches between me and my friend, I’m on te right in all of them.
Poor quality, and my bro can’t hold a camera.
I saw you guys were discussing the oswald UB loop. Back when I discovered this in october of 06(I forgot the date), my friend was abusing this on me all the time, and I couldn’t figure out a way to get out, rolling, blocking, everything I tried failed. Later I discovered I could get out of it by doing certain moves with invincibility, that’s when I took down my video from youtube, still a neat thing if your opponent doesn’t know about it or how to get out.
Sorry if that caused confusion everyone. ^^;
Too bad I could probably count on one hand the amount of non-LDM moves in the game that have any kind of actual invincibility…
Still though, any move that has quick enough start-up and good enough priority should work as well…
Yeah, pretty much. Which is still very weird as any other normal won’t really get you out of it.
So this thread hasn’t been active in forever… Well, I have to revive it because I’m curious.
I’ve read and seen tons of shit about double Chain Drive combos with K’, but I haven’t found any discussion about it on the forums here. So I really need to ask… how do you get it to work? Is there a trick to it? Is it specific to a certain version of the game?
If it helps, I have the American release version of the game. I’ve watched the K’ combo video several times and I either can’t seem to find the window to activate the second Chain Drive or don’t do it fast enough. Any tips?
Late responsse ftw
You have to back up slightly b4 you do the 2nd LDM, but this must be done fast.
I personally find it harder in the US copy, but it is still possible.
Basicly, just start the LDM motion from back instead of down, and with enough timing it should land, though not very practical in competitive play.
it’s “pretty simple” when u know the trick, u have to input the qcf,hcb (hold b) during the last hit of the LDM, when the screen turns black. holding b K’ do a step backward and in that moment u have to press E, because if u stay near the corner the LDM miss, the glasses go throught the wall behind -.-, if u do this correctly the glasses juggles the opponent.
pratice in training mode, seriously isn’t that hard when u understood the matter.
I’m subscribing to this, instead of having stupidly bumped the other thread.
To answer your questions:
Yes, Desperate Move= Super
DM= Level 1
LDM= Level 2 (only Leaders can use it)
There is an exception in that Kula’s MAX Diamond Edge is a Level 2 but is considered to be a normal DM and therefore she does NOT need to be Leader in order to use it.
SNK juggling is for the most part, very different from the juggling system you may be used to in Capcom games.
In 3rd Strike and CvS2, as you probably already know, the juggling system is based on points. Many normal/special/super moves have no juggle properties at all, and those that do have a certain pre-set number of “juggle points”, and once the amount of hits in your combo exceed the # of juggle points of your move you can no longer juggle.
The SNK method seen in KOF XI is actually much simpler. There’s only 3 types of specials/supers in regards to juggling.
A) Has no extra juggle properties
B) Juggle Launcher/Starter–On hit, allows ANY move to follow up
C) Ultimate Juggle (also called Anywhere Juggle)–Will ALWAYS juggle
Juggle Launchers are usually easy to spot. For example, once you launch somebody in the corner with Kyo’s QCF+K you can continue juggling them with his DP until they hit the ground (which is intentional but not an infinite because characters fall fast enough to be juggled only 3-4 times).
Vanessa’s infinite is also due to her Juggle Launcher. In her case though, her DP+C is a Launcher but her DP+A is NOT. Her DP+A is also much faster than her DP+C, which is why you need certain set-ups in order to do her DP+C infinite.
Most LDMs (most notably Oswald’s Joker and Kula’s Freeze Execution) are Ultimate Juggles. There are also a few special and even command moves that are UJ (Kim’s dash f+A,A).
There hasn’t been a full list of Ultimate Juggles for KOF XI compiled yet, unlike NGBC which has its full list in the SRK Wiki. Like I said, most LDMs are Ultimate Juggles. Try to experiment and find out what moves for your characters have UJs. Just remember any attack will always juggle after a launcher (unless it’s just too slow).
A good way to practice is to set the training dummy to jump, jab them out of the air, and then see if the move hits. For example, when someone jumps in on Oswald he can tag them with about a million standing As and then juggle them afterword with his LDM at any point he sees fit.
Good Beginner Characters:
Kyo, Iori, Terry, Shen, Ash, Ralf, Kula, Vanessa/Duo Lon (if you like fast combo characters).
LOL thats almost half the cast in XI…its all good though.
This game is looking great imo, it doesnt look like the rushdown fest of kof 2k2, but still maintains that “kof” feeling.
I like Duolon because I get to be gimmicky (I use Voldo, Cervantes, and Yoshimitsu in SC2/4, Cammy and Blanka in ST, Ibuki, Akuma, and Yang in 3S)
and I like Vanessa because I get to do combos (I use Magneto in MvC2…)
So yeah… knowing that, who should I pick? I’ve said that I do like Kula (Her stupid fucking priority is SOO fun), Duolon (teleports turn me on), Gato (flips are soooo gimmicky), Iori (He’s simple to get used to), K’ (He’s got fun juggles), and Ash (I have a thing for charge characters)
Yeah just go kula/kula/kula.
Seriously tho, the team everybody plays in Japan is Kula/Gato/Oswald. It wins everything.
Sweet another XI player. Had some matches not to long ago.
Kula’s priority is stupid but I just picked up Gato and well… he’s stupid too. Duo Lon is cool. I used to play him but I can’t do his LDM on pad so that went nowhere. Flips is sick though. You can SC the feint dash from the flip. I think it’s QCB+K then D.
K’ is badass. Play him. Heat Drive from lights that do a crapload of damage. He’s slow with the normals but still good. As for Iori… play whoever you want.
My teams are:
K(L)/Oz/Kyo
Gato(L)/EX Kyo/Geese
Iori(L)/Terry/Kim
I mix in some Benimaru and Duo Lon and Robert. REALLY play all of them. It took me months after I had my default team before I got to Gato/EX Kyo/Geese and a while before I put Gato as Leader. I hated Iori and now I play him. But I will tell you ONE thing: Duo Lon without L isn’t worth it to me.
I rarely get to play anymore due to lack of comp in my area but I used to sport this team.
Duo Lon (L), K’, Kyo
I can pretty much play with all characters aside from a few chargers and I’ll switch out Duo for Kula if the other player picks a member of the KGO. Fight fire with fire. Me and a friend banned those three when we played and the matches were a lot more fun.
Resurrection.
I use Iori/Beni(L)/Tizoc. I switch up Iori with Gato every now and again.
