Learn a bunch of characters and then worry about teams and formation later once you’ve gotten your characters down.
I will say that team formation is far more important in this game than most people think.
At a tournament level, Duo is not threatening unless he has access to his LDM. Therefore, having him on your team means you need 2 characters who don’t need their LDMs and are decent batteries.
I use it constantly. It took me a little while to get it down so I wouldn’t mess up and do a random shoryu but it was worth it. I like his corner trap and it opens up a lot of combinations like kula’s but far more impressive looking. :lol:

I just got done practicing (I practice atleast 2x a week for nothing)
I’m gonna do some team tweakage and see what are my best chars. Though I would like someone to practice on.
My XI team still holds up pretty well. Kyo, K’ (Leader), and Kim/Terry depending. I love how his Chain Drive can start off a projectile since it still counts as a hit

I’ve been doing more team experiments, so now I’m working with Duck/?/K’ (L).
My strategy is that K’ is pretty scary with meter and skill points, 1 dp+A (close) can equal 40%, and 40-70% for any hard attack. But I need a good battery in front of him. I’m sure Kula is the best option, but I would just like to know possible candidates.
Seriously DG, your team is perfect. KGO’s only flaw is that some ppl can’t decide on which to have as leader, though each of them are very solid. KGD on the other hand can kill with 2 bars and 1 skill point. Before in your vids all I saw was Kula’s trap then 100% on their next char, now I see mixup, more DL play w/o LDM, and crazy poke strings, QS after LDM combos ,and QS low-high mixups.
The only things are that ppl play shitty when against DL cuz they are afraid they’ll get TODed, and there are several instances where ppl forget that they can SS out.
True yeah people run away from DL and just jump lol for fear of the TOD.

About your question…yeah Kula would be the best option due to how fast she builds battery…also you gotta say whats your goal for that third character? Just build battery? Zone, build battery and run away if need be? Control the flow of the match AND do all three?
It took me a good day to get back HOT in KOFXI…when we did the MM I wasn’t on point completely yet though I still won 5-0 and its recorded. These matches I was in tournament mode pretty much completely warmed up.
Duck is for rushdown, but I shed a lot of bars when I play Duck or Eiji (Beat Rush and Mantis punch).
If I did that team their jobs would be:
Duck: RTSD
Kula: Build meter, zoning
K’: Zone, punisher
The issue is K’. My K’ isn’t that great, so leaving him anchor wouldn’t be best, though he can still deal out big damage from hard attacks.
I left my XI at a friends house so I can’t practice right now.
But, in a few cases certain chars don’t need their LDM’s, or it doesn’t enhance their game much.
Most of K’s combos that end w/ heat drive do almost as much damage as an LDM combo. And since most ppl have agreed that being leader doesn’t give a char any perks besides LDM.
