The KOF Cup 2011 with Hummer from Japan in Mexico/Mexico vs. Japan Discussion thread

Skato vs. Kula Conclusion:

If you wanna see the “next video”, just check my youtube channel in a few…it’s a little commercial but I’m not going to post it here hahahahaha.

Next match after the commercial is Bart vs. Lalo first to 10.

I think when he says that he’s the best may lee player, what he means is that he’s the only one good with her??!

and just watching these matches made my perception about tier list more irrelevant, kula was beasting with robert?! alexis with yamazaki?! tiers don’t mean shit, if you’re good, you’re good!!

Yeah in regards to May Lee he says he is the only May Lee player in Japan. Other people I have heard exaggerated things such as “The Best May Lee in Japan.” That makes you believe there are more May Lee’s than his!!!

But according to HIM, he is the ONLY ONE!!

About the Tier List thing: Exactly, I agree 100% that’s also why I again frown on people who jockride tier lists, because AGAIN, in different countries tier lists are different.

Please people don’t sit here and tell me the Japanese/Asian Tier list is the All Knowing-Omniscient Tier List that everyone should swear by (or even “more correct”), Hummer was even learning quite a few new things in Mexico that he didn’t see in Japan. There are many matchups around the world that people may not get to exploit because around the world in certain areas these characters are not played to the level they are in other countries.

Take for example in Japan, Angel in 2002 UM is Mid Tier, but how many Angel players are there in Japan in 2002 UM? I’d safely say not NEARLY as many as in Mexico (like 2002).

But…in Mexico Angel is Top Tier in 2002 UM…

Kula chose Robert vs. Hummer instead of Iori because though Hummer has problems with Iori, Robert shuts down Choi completely.

So in Mexican Tier List Robert is pretty high (as well as Yamazaki in Juarez), but you wouldn’t see him that place in Japan…why? Different playstyles!!!

So again people please don’t let the EVO results and all that other stuff cloud your judgment!!! The bad side of this for SBO and other tournaments is that this tournament steals some of the thunder away from them, because now people KNOW that there needs to be a World KOF Cup…it’d be like having a “World Tournament” in SF without inviting the Japanese…Same thing as not inviting the Latin Americans (not just Mexico but Peru, Brazil etc) in KOF…

it depends, in a balanxced gametiers dont matter. 02 is fucking balanced. look at kof 11, the tier in which k andf raiden, to a degree kula as well are in is soo fucking high that it does matter who you pick. hence the reason for teams based on points. in 02 something like this isnt needed, in 13 it is. the difference between K and the rest is soo huge, he could have well been a boss.

XIII is broken

SBO is coming up, are you planning to ask the sponsors if KOF makes it to the lineup?

Nope… I have accomplished part of my goal…now it’s time to push forward to the eventual World KOF Cup, which I think will eclipse SBO in regards to who takes it more serious (In regards to KOF!).

Their loss=my gain.

Guys internet has been acting up all day so you may not see anything today maybe not tomorrow…it may start back Monday because internet has been super super slow and fluctuating. xD

Great work as usual DG.

Second, PROPS to the Mexican’s…because normally, when a Japanese or high profile player comes from abroad to other countries, nigga’s choke like their throat was made of popcorn.

About Japan coming to Mexico or Mexico going to Japan; well, one can say a JP player would feel out of place in a foreign country, but it also works the other way round (i.e. Mexican players going to Japan and feeling out of place)…of course JP fanboys won’t say jack if a Mexican loses overseas.

So…have you ever considered bringing regions to an equal ground? I.e Mexico vs Japan in say France? For example we had Salim (FR) vs Bata (JP) play on UK soil…Salim won and was blatantly better. This is ONLY to get the most accurate information on who is better etc…personally I really don’t think it matters. Seriously, it’s all about good matches and enjoying the high level comp not matter what the country.

I know since FG’s are competitive people will be eager to know which country/region is better than which; I think the best way is really just to see who is best AMONGST the Mexicans, Chinese, Korean, Japanese etc seperately; rather than who is best vs who.

Not to say we don’t want to see these match-ups, but rather that we should give the arguement a rest. There will always be factors that get in the way of a true representation of who is best internationally, so there’s no point really.

This is true! I have thought about a neutral ground for second stages/qualifiers of the Final Stage of the World KOF Cup yes!

I also think for now yes as you say there is no true “argument”…the debate as some say for now is really over!

Here is the next match everyone of Bart vs. Lalo:

thats whats really a shame, cant stand it. the balance in 13 is fucking great, and all of a sudden theres k and raiden, to a degree kula (and lizzy with her retarded bs damage, but not as much as the real threats). how can in a game thats soo well balanced be such a boss tiered character/s?

edit: also when it comes to countries and tiers, as far as i know ive only seen 1 country that was higher than any other country when it comes to skills and thats china in 98. but there still could be better players in the world we dont know about. from what ive seen, as far as i know, china seems untouchable in 98 (xiaohai & dakou).

We will certainly get to the following games in regards to discovering who is truly the best etc:
2002 UM/Final Edition
98
98 UM/ Final Edition
KOFXI
KOF13 version 1.1/1.2 (since it is being worked on)

KOF 2002 we are near the end of solving the Mexico vs. Japan thing, all that is truly left is for Team Mexico (Kula, Bart, Luis Cha, Zeus) to play Tatsuya then this is finished (Kula may get to play vs. CAP in ReVolution 2011). Hell I even got an email from Bata saying he was highly impressed with Kula’s skill in the matches vs. Hummer, and he thinks he MIGHT BEAT ALL THE JAPANESE, but it will be tough! Kula can also play all of the above games, so he is the most marketable person to take around the world to represent Mexico!!!

Mexico vs. Peru will basically solve the Mexico vs. South America debate to a degree, and then for the most part KOF 2002 will be finished…it will be time to focus on other games and trust me 13 is gaining steam fast in Mexico (Did you guys see the Puebla tournament? Proof Mexico can play more than just KOF 2002!)

Kula has proven to be a worthy investment for tournaments without a doubt,** with me being the Don King of SNK, Kula is without a doubt the Mike Tyson of SNK.**

Hopefully there will be good console ports to those newer games, if not, will they still be ran? Sort of like how people in the North America are obviously doing tourneys for KOF13? Or would the game need to be more accessible?

Hopefully he wont bite anyone ears off and start racing pigeons!

 1. Depending on the region it will be console/arcade ports depends on where it is. For some of the games it will be console, but others like 2002 and 98 will be arcade first, but if needed of course we will have the console ports.

 2. I hope not either…xD

Kula wants to take on the world…and in this year alone we have planned:

 1. Kula vs. the USA and Japan (Tijuana in July)
 2. Kula vs. Peru
 3. Kula vs. TATSUYA…that’s right THIS YEAR…IN JAPAN.

andres is too afraid to take risks or dp zues most of the time. hence he gets his ass handed to him. props to zues for not turtling out like a sf player. andres needs to grow a pair if he actually wants a chance @ beationg zues. zues is not scared of him, and it shows.

also would have loved to play kula in 98 myself (same for dakou & xiaohai). i was planning on visiting my lil bros when he goes to do his minors in japan in september, but i dont know if thats such a smart idea (radiation, maybe my lil bro shouldnt go either).

Some of the Radiation is actually hitting here in the USA.
