Guys I am here posting videos giving updates, but I also am here for discussion as I said I would be, we were to discuss the results, so with this being a business move discussion is also a business move; discussion promotes more awareness of what has happened (and will happen in the future) especially since this is something that has never been done before.
Next video the 2nd Chapter of the GGPO Challenge:
Hummer (Fukuoka, JPN) vs. Luis Cha (D.F., MEX) Part I of II:

Hummer was very much impressed by Luis Cha’s style, and no they have never played on GGPO before though they both frequent GGPO.
So this was truly a test to see (along with Kula, Bart doesnt play online) how much GGPO results (if Japan is said to be better than Mexico by argument of online Osmani-NUTS videos) would hold up in real life!
Why is this? Because if said theory of Japan being better than Mexico due to Osmani-NUTS vs. Hummer-Blowback Doll videos was true, then you’d see it with Hummer playing vs. Mexico’s ELITE players Bart, Luis Cha, and Kula!
Playing on linked setup and side-by-side are very different. GGPO can be considered a linked setup (if theres no lag). On a linked setup you can risk more, guess more (right or wrong) etc. You can play more naturaly. On a side-by-side setup people tend (altough not intentionaly, but some do) to “see” what your doing/is going to do, not to mention that if you play in those cabinets with more than 4 buttons and those buttons are not active, you can fake a lot of stuff to trick your oponent, people react to the sound of a button even not intentionaly. You have to play in a diferent way, risking less, only because your oponent can “see” when you are going to jump etc and stuff like that. So it’s pretty obvious Hummer (or any other person used to play in the linked setup) would lose in a side-by-side setup. To be honest I’m pretty amazed with Hummer’s performance in the Mexican setup.
I’m not a japanofile-tard or anything, but I really doubt Mexico or any other country could beat Asia in any KOF (by Asia I mean Japan, China/HK and Korea) in their playing setup, wich is linked machines.
The Final between Hummer and Luis Cha of the GGPO Challenge:

Where is your evidence for this assumption though? Why I say this is because:
We are going to Japan
Kula plays the first round of the tournament using a sanwa stick just to send the Japanese a message that he feels he can beat them on THEIR setup! As I said before, there are people like Kula, Zeus and others that can hang with the best of them in the world…period.
Hummer says in the interview with Bart he thought Tatsuya was the “best 2002 player in the world” only at the end of Sunday to change that completely to “I think Kula wins vs. Tatsuya.”
You are leaving out Taiwan as well, to which is said by Hummer in 2002 they are equal to Japan, and in 98UM they are stronger than Japan.
After the tournament I gave Kula a PS2 Sanwa stick so that he could practice so that he would be ready come tournament time, he says it will not take him long to be ready for it, a few weeks. You can see this in the tournament footage, he is still raping people with a sanwa!!!
Also what is to say the Japanese don’t use side by side cabinets? Taking into account what jedpossum posted up and the fact that for JuareZ WarZone Dune had told me specifically that Bata had used side by side cabs and American style sticks before, this could be just an assumption by your part that Mexicans would not beat them on their setups. True Champions adjust to wherever they are period.
I toss this question out to you all:
With Bata losing in 2k2UM to Salim from France 10-4, Bata losing in JuareZ WarZone, Danke losing in Game of Death, and Hummer despite putting forth a valiant effort lost in the second round in 2002 as well as 85% of his personal matches, is it possible that…
You guys give Japan too much credit because Japan is…Japan???
Is it possible that EVO and other things such as The Great Battle, SBO, and other things such as Emil’s channel, Duelling the KOF, GGPO battles and matches/youtube matches from A-cho etc. have clouded your rationale and created bias in you that you are unaware of?
You know more about the Asians than you do the Latin Americans, let’s face it, Asians get more exposure, but doesn’t mean they are necessarily better than the Latin Americans!
Just FYI I am a psychologist everyone (working on my PhD in Ed. Psych) so this is one of those types of questions.
I’m not saying japanese can’t play on American-type joysticks and vice versa. I’m talking about the setup they are used to play (side-by-side or linked).
Like I said, don’t get me wrong, I’m no japanese-tard like those Daigo fans or something, in fact I’m very patriot. I’m just saying what I think about the side-by-side and linked setups from self-experience and watching other ppl play too. I’ve seen in person many strong players (like Buchecha, from Brazil) losing to average players when they were playing on linked setups. When they play on side-by-side, Buchecha rape them. Over here, you can ask many strong players what setup they like most, linked or side-by-side, the majority will prefer side-by-side because like I said, some players like to “see” what you are doing or are going to do when they are so close to you.
And yes, real strong players adapt, but this isn’t something you can learn from night to day, it takes months to adapt to such a thing cuz when you play years in a setup and you suddenly figure out that you have to change your playstyle (and your physical playstyle too haha) you are pratically re-learning the game (in the versus part).
Oh and other thing, if Mexicans want to “prove the world” they are the best in KOFs, I suggest they go to China/Hong Kong/Taiwan, and not Japan. History tells us (in all those Duelling The KOF events) that China and Korea beat Japan in almost all of them, and analysing their playstyle on videos (I hate to base someone’s skill level by videos too, but most times it’s all we got) I think Japan is a little behind the Chinese people (by China I include Taiwan and Hong Kong, they are the same to me haha).
I’m not saying America (by America I mean any North, Central and South America country) can’t beat Asians on their linked setup, I’m just saying it would be a more tough battle.
PS: Congrats Dark Geese for supporting the KOF scene in a global level, you are the man, keep up the good work.
Thanks man I appreciate it, and see guys this is the type of discussion I want in here!
I see what you are saying about that stuff I gotta take it one step at a time though in regards to Mexicans going to China, because I also have the WORLD KOF Cup Qualifiers planned/slated to being in 2013, so that may be the time that is happening.
I too would like to see Mexican players in other foreign countries battling, so that makes two of us!!! This is something I will continue to do research into as I have heard that Chinese focus more on 98 and not 2002, so I’d have to take the top band of 98/UM players from Mexico, Brazil, Argentina etc to China for a 98 battle. We are going to get to 98 soon enough I assure you, if not then then for certain for The WORLD KOF Cup,
to which for now the games for The WORLD KOF Cup are:
-KOF 2002
-KOF 2002 Final Edition or whatever the latest version would be (Oops did I LEAK something out? hehehe)
-KOF 98
-KOF 98 Final Edition
-KOFXI
-KOFXIII
dark geese: Still working hard I see. Keep exposing the Japan dickriders.
I saw some people mentioned that we were talking about you on the Sp00ky stream at FR14. Yeah, I did talk about you for a few minutes with DeadlyRaveNeo. and I think JDash was the one that put you on blast. I don’t really understand why lol.
Justin.tv
anyway, if you want to watch the clip, it starts at 1:39:50, its only about 30 seconds or so.
funny that word got back to you though, but im not surprised. we had fucking 9000 viewers on the stream at some point when that was said so i shoulda checked here lol.
anyway hope we can work together in the future its been a while man! i know youre busy just like everyone else @ team spooky is. add my ass on facebook already sir.
Ahhh okay man thanks fore the heads up, yeah info got to me all the way in Juarez, Mexico lol. I’ll hit up JDash so we can see what this is about in PMs.
We will be able to work in the future man because my events are only continuing to grow, so we gotta catch a time that you guys aren’t at another tournament or something and I assure you we will be able to use your services! Plus despite the fact that 90% of my stuff is international, there will be a few events I deem “worthy” enough to have your services like the next chapter for USA vs. Mexico 2011 when we decide to do it in the USA, and when we bring CAP from Japan to Mexico for KOF13…we could certainly use your services, and then in November for Battle 4 Mexico 2011 we could use your services!!!
Okay guys THE END of the GGPO Challenge the end with Hummer vs. Kula:

(Please let it finish encoding the vid is 1 Gig, so it may take a little while, but please watch in 1080 or 720p!)
Next is the Aftermath video which I thought was VERY VERY GOOD after listening to it, it covers a lot of the things I spoke about to Lawler and Laban about China playing KOF 98, and other things in that very video so stay tuned!!!
I may have said something like “China primarily plays KOF98 og” or something like that. On a different note, hope to see some China vs. Latin America in 98 og. Hopefully you could have a direct feed next time, dg. Good luck
Also if you could, not only could you bring over Xiaohai and Dakou but you could please bring over Ching Lung as well? Xiaohai seems to usually roll with Iori/Daimon/O.Chris while Dakou goes with Kyo and some mismash of top tier characters. Ching Lung is a good contrast for being a top player since he specializes in Chizuru/Mai/Leona as well as other zoning characters so bringing him over would put to show in a diversity of play styles and characters.
Yeah we are getting closer to having a direct feed I think we may have found out a way to do it! I would love to bring over all three of them to face Latin America in 98 I think that would be very interesting!!!
Finishing right now is the end of the Special Request with Alexis then uploading the Aftermath followed by me vs. Kula part I in SvC Chaos.
Aftermath Video with Alexis:

Next is the Final Special Request Video then returning to upload back in regular order! He says Alexis is the same level as Oogosho in Japan! He even says Alexis could beat him in 2002! But he says Oogosho focuses on 98! He says he is a top player in 98, Hummer also says 777 is not a top player in 98/UM but the next tier to top in Japan in 98, so I guess High Mid.
