I heard that south Korea and China are good at kof(china beside 98 UM) too.
When is SBO? r you guys gonna be there during that time?
And there r a lot of other undiscovered talent around the world, lack of mean and opportunity for them. I think it is arrogant to say that only the top Mexican, Japanese, Korean and American are the best! let just say they are the best known players.
This man gets it!! Exactly!..Before I opened eyes to the Mexican skill level…the Japanese fanboys said all skill was just in Japan/Asia…now the world knows better so they are NOWHERE TO BE FOUND WITH THAT NONSENSE.
The world to me is bigger than Mexico and Japan, you got the rest of Asia which is something unto itself such as North and South Korea, Malaysia, Cambodia, Taiwan, Phillipines, China, Hong Kong, and even European, African and Middle Eastern countries and others I am leaving out. I do not know when SBO is and to tell you the truth it isn’t a concern. Me and Kula are planning on being there around Duelling the KOF time (Hummer is on DTKOF Staff no longer is it DUNE), seeing if they can change the date to November so we can be there!
Same thing with the Mexican players, there is the rest of Latin America to discover such as but not limited to: PERU, Brazil, Argentina, Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama, Belize, Chile, and the list goes on and on.
I would hope this Mexico vs. Japan war only served to open everyone’s eyes to just how LITTLE you know in the grand scheme of things!!!
My World KOF Cup seeks at solving this at least for a 1-2 year timeframe!!!
I like it bro I am sure that are at least 10 000 player around the world with Kula and Tatsuya level around the world. If only 500 hundreds or 200 hundred can make it. The world of kof will be choked and surprise into the versatility and style of each different players will bring to that world cup, and kof will make a big leap forward because of the competition of the best of the best of the best.
for instance in Africa, in a competitive level, kof is played to the simplest and most basic way to erase the slightest mistake. That does not mean that the top players cannot make combos. It is just that opening are very hard and combos happens mostly when the one who has the lower health as to attack more due to the time set playing against him. It is so intense too because most player don’t have money for much game. So when guy is challenge in an arcade, He will play as if his life is on the line.
And not many kids have consoles there, so a lot play arcades.
I am sure that other culture have their own style of play, due to social condition and culture.
hopefully you make the world cup happen DG, you will see wonderful things, the french and england are pretty tight too.
The goal is to start World Qualifiers in 2013…but I am determined to make it happen, another reason I am busting my ass with work and what I am doing…I am determined this is now the next stage…
In my opinion, for the Mexicans (or any other country) claim the title of being the best on OG2k2 they should go to Asia and face asians in their setup too. It’s not fair to beat 1 or 2 japanese dudes in American setups and claim such thing as being the best country in OG2k2. I’ll say for the 58674th time, playing side by side and linked machines are very different. Plus 1 entire country vs 1 or 2 dudes from another country is… meh xD
IMO you guys should organize something like this:
5 players from Mexico and 5 from Japan (or China, or Korea, w/e), to make equal number teams.
Then play each other on both american and asian setups, so the side with more victories together (american+asian setup results) is the best against the other.
I would pay to watch something like that.
If you guys could menage to organize something like that, it would be orgasmic.
I found this in cyberfanatix, just to show how the rest of the world is playing and being competitive at KOF in a tournament in France. I will post the videos later but in the mean time I will give the links to check it out.

I think I will have to create my own thread for this, since this is about Mexico vs Japan
I knew about that was almost going to go…but had this tournament too close to it.
Lawler- Yes we have thought about this 5v5 thing, but for me that is simply not economically feasible right now. If Kula can go to Japan and get the job done vs. Japan and Taiwan himself alone on Japanese setups then this thing is pretty much settled in 2002. Only if he can’t do such a thing then we may have to consider something bigger than that.
But for me in 2002 Mexico vs. Japan is pretty much done, there is not much left to do for it, so a 5v5 to me would be better settled for a World Qualifier or something than spending roughly $10,000 flying 5 guys to Japan just to settle the Mexico vs. Japan thing on a 5v5 (This is not a sound business decision at this point. Why spend $10,000 if I don’t need to if I can simply spend roughly $2-3,000 to get the job done?).
Emil asked me about something like that earlier and he’s like “Well you got the money right.”
LOL, HORRIBLE BUSINESS SENSE. Not going to spend that type of money for something like this…I’d rather slowly build up to something like that and even then not sure I would take a 5v5 JUST for KOF 2002…not so sure about that…
So again something for a World Qualifier or something like that possibly.
But again if Kula gets the job done in Japan on Japanese setups…then no need for any of that…which from what I have heard from Bata and Hummer…is VERY MUCH POSSIBLE, and this saves me having to remotely consider a 5v5 (***to which I know no one is going to help me come up with the roughly $10,000 am I right Oscar???***) just to officially settle something, when to me, it pretty much already is settled (My argument all along was that Mexico could play vs. the tops in KOF 2002, and that has clearly already been established, now whether they are BETTER or not, well thats why Kula is going to Japan to face Tatsuya!) and my time is better spent focusing on the other games as well as building towards a WORLD KOF CUP…where things aren’t just limited to Mexico vs. Japan. All Mexico vs. Japan is is a catapult to The World KOF Cup see…I can’t convince someone of the need for a World KOF Championship without first showing them the fallacies in their ways of reasoning with things being ethnocentric to only the Eastern Hemisphere.

I see your point DG, but hey, who’s saying you should put that much money yourself alone? XD
The players should (and must tbh) pay their own flying tickets/hosting expenses. Things are expensive? Yes, but like anything in our lives we gotta work hard for anything to happen. I’m sure the players would find a way to go to Japan if they really wanted to.
well to be fair there are ggpo gods that rape in real life (dakou in 98).
also dg, you do realize the reason mike tyson is broke is because of don king?
Well I can put an 85% assurance on this, if I don’t take initiative to cover at least 85% of everything, I assure you it isn’t going to happen. Take a look at the past history and you can see it for yourself…people have had all the time in the world to do what I am doing right now but no one has done it, no one has stepped forward to do it and I feel had it not been me we would still have these rabid ANNOYING Japanese fanboys and “GGPO Scholars LOL” tooting their horns saying Japan>the world in everything known to man even American football (They got a heavy dose of REALITY CHECK-AND PLEASE MAKE THAT CHECK OUT TO DARK GEESE, THANKS K BYE!).
So if it is going to happen, quite frankly I have to be a major financial part of it…history has shown me things don’t get done otherwise…I mean people have had since 2002 has been out to set this up…but along I come practically 8 years later doing this thing??? You can take a look at efforts to set up Mexico vs. Brazil, Mexico vs. Peru, bring Japanese players for 2002 on Cyberfanatix in older threads, and what has become of those efforts? NOTHING. So here I am and within 2 years I am accomplishing what they have tried to do in 8???
There was even some Mexican sponsor that posted in the thread in CX when I was talking about this a while back that “he would take Kula to Japan before me.”
So much for that…you challenge me in something like that and you will have to back it up…He will have to eat his words when I have Kula in Japan more than likely this year…
That is true…but people have to realize that for the majority of these GGPO Gods, they aren’t as strong as they are online.
Yes I do know Tyson is broke because of Don King yes lol, but it’s the closest analogy I can get. Kula is Tyson…sure he talks the talk..but he walks the walk…
I still don’t know who these “GGPO Gods” are nor who are the fanboys that are “constantly” and blindly praising them. Sounds made up to me. Sure there is Dakou and Hummer, but they’re not exclusively online players so they don’t count. It’s like Kuroda playing as “HoshinoAki” in the 3s room, he’s not a GGPO God because he isn’t exclusively GGPO/Online only. You should be careful tossing around “Japanese fanboys” or “GGPO Gods” since it seems there are only 1 or 2 people that tried to argue the matter nor there are signs of any exclusive “GGPO Gods” mentioned anywhere in the past year or two. I don’t know, it just seems like you’re “fighting against” something that conceptually doesn’t exist. I don’t think there actually are any GGPO Gods. I find it annoying that people are trying to argue and fight against something that one or two people support, and what those people support aren’t even GGPO/Online Exclusive players.
It’s as if you’re trying to spread around misinformation. Sure there is somewhat a case for East vs. Latin America, but it’s annoying to suppose there is a case for online vs. offline when there aren’t even key players only online nor people actually arguing that online is better than offlline.
That is cool then if you know about such tournament, The World Game Cup (France) and the Super vs Battle(England), King of fighter is very popular in north. North Africa, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia… are pretty tight on KOF, They have players who compare to Mexicans in terms of skills I you use to talk with a guy on youtube some years ago, they are not small fries, they can play (I mean it). I will try to invite the guy to this forum so that he can be in touch base with you DG(good for your world cup).
His name on youtube is kofalgeria. But him he is more of a combo maker, but he posted a game of a final between Morocco and Algeria and the game play was tight and high skill.

with this video you can have an idea of the skill level in Algeria.
DG I told him about you and the world cup you want to organize
There’s actually quite a few of both actually be it these GGPO Gods and the Japanese fanboys…again remember they aren’t just centralized just to who you may think (those one or two people), there are more than those people who read even this site Laban keep that in mind, and I mean these are people in both the English world and the Spanish world in addition to other languages keep that in mind. So again, while you think this is just about 1-2 people, I wouldn’t be wasting my time reiterating this if it was about 1-2 people. This is about people such as RINO as well, who are GGPO Gods online, but are nothing offline.
This is about the many people around the world who have shared this perception about what I have said in general (I get messages from people in Morocco, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Chile, USA, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Canada, Puerto Rico, Argentina and I could go on and on) that have sent me messages on youtube even thanking me for “awakening them” etc, this is about something that stretches even farther than SRK. This topic has reached many different people in various parts of the world, through not just SRK, but from my youtube channel, in many different countries, and there are those that still say stuff like “well cola321 beat Kula on GGPO” and I have to remind them the purpose of the GGPO Challenge, and that was to see whether GGPO should be taken seriously or not and the results say that GGPO doesn’t mean anything and thus cola321 beating Kula on GGPO means nothing.
To go even further, I’d put $500 on Kula in a first to ten in real life right now vs. Cola from Taiwan (sidebets anyone? lol j/k), I don’t think he’ll be using Random select (Cola) either…and if this keeps up, trust me I will make sure Cola and Kula meet, to again take out any footing from anyone that wants to give GGPO or online any credit vs. offline whatsoever… or say something asanine such as “GGPO Results determine real life results” which is apparently the thought by people even referencing the whole Kula-Cola thing, apparently they are missing the picture why I did this in the first place and I had to educate a lot of people! Some even thought the GGPO Challenge was supposed to be THEM ON GGPO…Uh no!!!
You should see the comments and messages I get on my youtube channel for these videos and you will understand that I am certainly not talking about just 1-2 people from SRK…
I am talking about a group of people much much larger than that…
I will take a look at that, thanks!
Next video is uploading as well…
Alright that’s cool then. For me, I just always assume that Youtube commenters by default are dumb and just let it go. It’s almost like World Star Hiphop comments. Power to you dude.
Here is part 3.0 of the North vs. South:

Parts 3.5 and 3.6 of the 5v5:

Here is all of Part 4 of the 5v5:

There are many parts of the 5v5, and when it finishes, then again for the “quality snobs”, after the interviews and documentary footage for early Sunday, we will begin the DIRECT FEED aka MacBook footage.
I bring this up again because though I do try the best I can to increase the quality of the videos, I am not going to break my back nor lose sleep if someone doesn’t want to watch it or put it on “front page of SRK” or something like that because it isn’t “up to their standards.”
That’s their loss not mine, whoever wants to watch the vids will watch them anyways…This goes for now and in the future, if for some reason everything in the world can’t be direct feed I’m not even gonna lose sleep over it…esp. for a cultural difference which to me is catered primarily around a region(s) that doesn’t/don’t even play KOF seriously or for the most part it isn’t their main game played!!!
I’m looking for serious players, not time wasters or dabblers looking for the next game to play while waiting for their own!!!
now this was a tournament
Yessir, it was pretty nuts, high level skill all over the place, and if you like KOF or SNK in general, at least during this time period, in Mexico this tournament was the place to be…
