nope, you can only unlock chars through survivor mode. it doesnt matter much, good players dont use them online much, so they are pointless to learn.
But then again…May Lee, Angel are IMO the toughest characters to master by far…make no doubt about it…I could see it now…the “Too tough to master team-”

Well, just got my hands on Neowave; I’m liking it alot, but I enjoyed playing 2002 on the Dreamcast more. The new types of systems are interesting; it creates more depth to the game.

Tiers with everyone included I have yet to see one to be honest…and this is after having done extensive research in the game for a year…So maybe we can come up with our tiers…
I know this much…I have the S class at GC.Net…and I know the 2k2 top class has been bumped down so I would guess based on that speculation…The top 2k2 tier is now a A class…etc etc.

B Tier is obviously the biggest one…Mid tier that is…which has almost everyone in it…
I don’t think that you should include Angel, May Lee, Seth, O. Rugal, or Kusanagi; since they are console only.
Also, making a teir list using the SC groove is kind of off. Since the most commonly used groove (and the “top teir groove”) is GB. And a GB tier list would be slightly different.
For most of these characters however Sc is their best groove…seriously…for only a few is SC mode better than GB for the most part and in match vids I havent seen GB used too much at high level play…Ive seen it some…but most I know just stick to the SC Cancel mode…sure GB is new and so people are using it but I dont see it super whored all the time…correct me if I’m wrong though…

Based on this there’s only a few characters that are better in the other grooves than SC mode…Some are better and some are the same…but as a whole SC stands the best mode for the majority.
Also the most whored team(s) I see in SBO/High level tourney vids is Geese, Choi, Saisyu or Geese, Jhun,Choi or a mix of S Class characters.
Picking the groove is a toss up with S Class if you have Choi bc Choi does great with MAX2 mode bc of his HSDM Freddy Krueger 2k2 super(or SVC Exceed whichever you know)…only the real homies know tricks to escaping it…hehee.but yields Geese no roll and not 3 levels for Deadly Rave…
How would you rank Chin? I just started playing him, and so far I think he deserves a little higher than bottom tier. Any tips are welcome too!
Chin is is the middle of the pack…he is a good surprise character…he aint bottom tier thats for damn sure…bottom tier in my tier rankings is D Class…Chin IMO is B class bc Ive seen a damn good Chin user in my area…(2 a matter of fact)
He can hold his own believe me…and GREAT to surprise people that stick to the damn shotos/CVS2 characters bc that is all they know.

Main thing that does not apply in NW is no more BC Activation/BC Mode…NeoWaves SC mode solved all that by putting it in the mode itself…that has pros and cons…

Ramon is a lot better then C-Class, he’s High-B at least.
Options on top of options, Random as fuck and he has decent priority and lots of unblockables (besides the damned grabs lol)
IMO Ramon belongs in Low A/High B, his biggest drawback is he’s not too good from far away but up close? - you’re fucked.
Yeah Ramon is good I agree, but after playing great Ramon players in NW I believe he was nerfed in NW…the damage scaling nerfed everyone as a whole but Ramon takes more work than the others in B-Class to be effective…
By me putting him in C Class I do not think he cannot hold his own though…
thats like me seeing Kisarah in NGBC be in C class, she can definately rip apart people in SECONDS…but she takes work…Ramon takes work up close and can be effective…but even he was nerfed from his better 2k2 self…his HH CD isnt as good as it was in 2k2 believe me and though he has all his cancel run back tricks he has been nerfed.
Im open to changing the tiers possibly…but more debate I welcome…
My C Class is full of people that take work to be effective by far, but does not mean they cannot murder people…
play a Master Angel or May Lee and you will know what I am talking about…but few exist…
Yeah I noticed they did nerf him a bit in NW, but they brought him back and made him a little better in XI (even MORE priorty?!)

I forgot to add Benimaru to the A Class list…he deserves to be there…he just aint S Class like he was in 2k2/2k3!!!
Also I forgot to put Kim in B Class, he is mid tier in this game. I dont think A class and if he was like NGBC He’d be S Class by far hahaha.
Saisyu and Choi should be in S class alone and the others I’ll have to do later.
No not alone…believe me Aaron Saisyu can be dealt with with Geese…I do not fear Saisyu I know what he can do…Trust me man…you need to watch more match vids…Esp. SBO ones(in regards to Geese and Jhun)…I have no problems beating Saisyu at all…
And you dont know what Geese in the right hands can do…a high level Geese seriously… A Master Geese is definately better than the A Class trust me… (Key words master…not a starter Geese, or a intermediate one,a Master Geese that knows him very very well)
And A High level Jhun is just sick…dig up some more info man trust me on this. (S Class is strictly based on tourney results my friend in other words S Class is a definite)
Geese should also be in S Class, as well as Jhun…ask Denton Crew members…we got great players of all the S Class and everyone in NW…we all agree with the tier for S Class…
Gualberto/Gustavo are excellent with with S Class and with Saisyu,Jhun etc…and they agree for sure with the ranking of S Class how it stands…And they definately agree Geese should be in S Class without a doubt…no questions asked period… As does All of Denton Crew and all that have seen Geese in the right hands…

I have the SBO dvd and Geese is the one that can be dealt with. As I am assuming you’ve have seen the dvd, you see that both finalists(forgot their names) played with teams that consisted with Saisyu and both beat teams that had Geese in their teams and they played Geese reallly well. Just going from what happened at SBO clearly shows that Choi and Saisyu are top. Geese is just annoying but can be taken care of. Geese is A for his annoyance.
Jhun is one that I don’t know for now but I know hes not on par with Choi, Saisyu or even Geese. I know that his corner game is great.
