Silly, question: Does NeoWave have a tag system like 2003 and XI?
I highly doubt it, but I’m just curious.

thankfully, theres no tag system. i hated 03 because of that (but loved xi for having it).
btw for those wanting to learn geese, i updated the Young Geese Howard strategy section of the wiki.
Also know that you can combo df+a into Deadly Rave but its difficult.
One of my staple combos with Geese is crossover jump b,cr.b,cr.axxdf+axxDeadly Rave.
The only moves/supers that beat Deadly Rave are those that have longer invincibility frames than the DR.
Also Im gonna give away one secret…you can be command grabbed out of Deadly Rave with Daimon!!!
CD Cancel comes out shorter than St. D but that is a plus in the mixups…
Me personally I would never use the Ragin Storm…thats less meter you have for DR but thats just my personal preference…DR will make them fear you with one bar…RS takes two…and DR can be juggled off the RS…three bars gone…that fast…
Nope…
You guys are also forgetting about his IMO best AA normal-HH CD…its even better than Chris’s…Also Explosion Ball is good…but make sure they are in the air…whiffing it is not safe unlike the CPU version.
Now as posted in GC.Net if you are up to close to the opponet you can use df+A as an AA…also for some Tricks you can do the Double Kara Punch!!!
Df+CxxDf+Axxrepukken or whatever you want…some DG tricks of the trade…
nice stuff man, i didnt think that the df+axxDeadly Rave was practical enough to use as a bnb combo, since Deadly Rave doesnt come out at a close distance.
also, i never use raising storm outside of max 2, and if i do use it, it would be in a tick throw setup after a crossed-up Hishou Nichirin Zan.
later today, im going to experiment with df+a in a gb combo, cause im pretty sure it juggles.
share your knowledge on the wiki, it’ll benefit a lot of new geese players.
Hey I just started playing and I am having a hard time just doing the basics. I don’t know if it is just me, but it is impossible to input any moves… even easy stuff like qcf and qcb movements.
Is this normal, I had the same problem with another kof game (think it was 02).
What is the best way to adjust, or is the game to blame for just having crap input.
im reading everywhere that angel is definetly not in the xbox version of neowave…
Yeah try in the corner with Geese St. Cxxdf+AxxDR…comboes…takes practice but it works…its hard out of the corner to combo but with that method and the bnb crossover combo it works…
In 02 the normals are harder to do…in NW its easier to buffer moves/normals from other moves…what moves in NW are you having a hard time doing??
Maybe I can help you figure it out?
Also as a tidbit…Geese does have some tough matchups…
Here are Geeses tough matchups and I’m gonna give you reasons why so you people that wanna counter Geese here is the best way bc playing against a Master Geese just at times seems unfair…hehehe.
All these matchups are assuming the person playing these characters actually knows what the fuck they are doing…lol.
1.Choi-Tough to hit, Can make you whiff DR with ease, can jump over like anything Geese does…gives Geese a hard time.
2. Leona-Tiger Knee V-Slasher takes away HH CD, the move you wanna abuse A LOT with Geese bc it snuffs out sooo much…also Leonas pokes can beat Geeses stuff and force him to play more defensive…a tough matchup.
3. Jhun- Very tough for Geese. a Master Jhun can stop almost anything Geese does…period…even DR… But thats the thing…how many people are willing to master Jhun???
4. Saisyu-Saisyu’s priority in HH makes this a tough battle for Geese but can be overcome with patience and awareness when Saisyu has Super bc Orochinagi can be used to stop HH CD (Trust me its THAT GOOD)
5. Chris- This can go either way…it can be an easy battle for Geese or a hard one…if you have SC Mode this battle can be over for Chris quickly bc DR or HH CD will beat Chris’s fabled 2k2 HH CD. If Chris in SC Mode gets in on you or corners you thats where the battle gets real tough for Geese.
6.Chin/Kensou- These battles pose suprises for Geese because of the autoblock properties of the moves they have…it can definately catch Geese off guard if not careful so you have to be alert and change your strategy based on it.
Okay we’ve been talking about Human Geese for so long now lets talk about the CPU Geese? Is anyone having a problem beating him???
If so I can get a perfect on him with ease…so I’ll be happy to give you guys some tricks to making his life hell…
just dp cpu geese or roll throw
Damn right in the corner CPU Geese eats DPs for free…
Well I finally got Neowave today and just dumped two hours into it. The Geese info definately helped me out. One thing to note for Geese players, apparantly Saisyu can grab Geese out of a Deadly Rave (This is before it starts the combination). Also, I’m noting some difficulty with the controls. Half the time my QCFs aren’t registering. This is extremely weird since every other game has my stick responding fine.
Now to kick up some more discussion here. Is it worth it to pull a SDM Power Geyser or is it more effective to just do two DM Power Geysers? One thing I will say about Neowave, Terry rocks in it. If I didn’t have input troubles I would have torn through Geese first time with just Terry. Unfortunately a burn knuckle didn’t go of and it resulted in me eating a Double Reppuken.
Ok so who are the hidden characters here?
I’m picking it up via amazon next week (with EX and EX2)
Iori is pretty strong in Neowave. His Maiden masher rush DM is back to the 98’ version. It has invincibility and it goes through mid level projectiles. His DP is also strong like in 98’. He could also supercancel from his hcb+D into his scum gale grab in combos. He can’t do that in 2k2 BTW. Very nasty!
He is much stronger than his 2k2 version except that his saika follow-up after the maiden masher has smaller damage.
I am suprised nobody has mentioned how strong Daimon is!
He too has been beefed up A LOT from his 2k2 version. His S.C->F/d+C is a clean 2 hits now just like in 98’. You could do his special grab or DM after that. His qcb+B roll can be canceled from his D/F+C and you could do that dp+A earthquake after the opponent has landed on the ground. In 2k2 you can’t do that cancel unless you activate BC mode. 98’ style Daimon is a monster and with the max2 mode, he downright unstopable.
About the Power Geysers question…IMO you could go for either…bc the damage scaling in this game is pretty damn harsh so if you use LVl2 MAX Geyser then it still aint gonna do as much as it would in Kof2k2.
From what I heard, the PS2 version has lots of slowdown and stuff. I’m not really sure what’s the problem. My theory is snk used an earlier build of the game that didnt have Angel and May lee in it because it was more stable.
And if anyone knows any changes for the characters from 2k2 to Neowave, go help with the wiki plz.
The PS2 version does not have slowdown mainly unless it is on a CD burnt copy…that is something that has been discussed before…mainly if the game is on a DVD there is really no slowdown…
Why are people talking strats about Geese? If you want your team to go far pick Choi. Clark, O.Yashiro, Kim, Jhun, Terry are all buff in this game. Saisyu is awesome. If you want a cheesy team, pick Billy, Geese and Choi.
Dude Billy in this game is toned down seriously…his pokes are weaker…so you cant play him just like he was in 2k2…
My team goes far based on Geese alone…Geese can OCV just as good as the rest trust me…
Choi has been like the same since like 4ever…if youve known him for a while there aint much else to know…
And sorry I said I was gonna update the Wiki on Saturday but I couldnt so I am going to try for tomorrow.
Maybe but Billy can still hold his own and still be annoying.
One question, any other way besides Endless Mode, to unlock characters? I don’t think I could beat 47 characters.
Just got Neowave in the mail today, with the Terry hat:bgrin:
All I need is my Xbox back from my friend, and a 2 month free trial card:tup:
