Well if you guys wanna discuss NW strats etc I’m game…I love Neo Wave…still playing it hardcore nearly one year later…
You can do it here or at Guardcrush.net which I am updating the NW section today complete with the full tier list based on all grooves and a great link for everyone!!
The lagging in Angel combos is yet another thing…if you see a glitch vid on a site (forgot it) it shows just that-lagging slow-mo Angel glitch combos…so it may just be a glitch…but if you have the CD version it tends to slow down versus the DVD version.
I was contemplating buying a cheap X-Box for NeoWave and the 02/03 collection, but figured that is would be a waste of monye as my PS2 will soon be improt friendly.
Well, while I’m waiting on this I might as well read up on some strats. Could anybody help me out with improving my Geese (Although I guess it’s technically learning Geese even though I play him in other games)? I’ve been trying to learn him in things like CvS2 and KoF96 as well as some others, but I just can’t seem to get anything solid going on. I’m entirely inconsistent and lacking in effective tactics and it kind of bothers me. Also, I’m thinking of learning Guard Break mode due to having Just defense and it just seems to be more of my style, would that be good for Geese or should I go for something else? Sorry about all the questions, but compared to most people here I’m rather scrubby, especially in SNK fighters.
Edit: After looking at the tier lists over at Guard Crush it seems like my entire planned team (Geese, Terry, Robert) generally benefit the most from Super Cancel mode. That takes care of that I suppose.
Improving your Geese…hahhaa…yes Young Geese is hands down my best character…for starts look at the Other Games thread for starter Geese stuff.
Also I’ll lend to helping all of you out with Geese by posting good Geese stuff from Gamefaqs for starters at Guard crush so get ready.
Ill give you starts at SRK- Geeses best groove hands down is SC Mode…Why?
He has no super cancels. BUT…he doesn’t need them.
He has the best super in the game arguably…Deadly Rave…it is the ultimate Anti Air and punisher…and you start with three of them…
Oh boy about the difference between the jumps…yes there is a difference…dont think of KOF jumps in terms of CVS2…they are not really close…CVS2 got it all wrong with the jumps…they narrowed it down to 2 jumps instead of 4.
In KoF you have the following-
1.Short jump
2.HyperHop
3.Super Jump
4.Normal Jump
HyperHop is the best option of the three and what you see 95% of the time in match vids of any high level KOF(The short jump with Shadows). HyperHop (HH) does not exist in CVS2 and the fact that it doesn’t pissed me off about the game to be blunt.
HH happens by either running and short jumping or lightly tapping superjump forward or backwards (in other words down to upback or down to up-forward)
This makes your moves have more priority than a short jump…which if you get a short jump move vs. a HH move the HH move will win 99% of the time.
Geese Three-part starter section at GuardCrush is up and complete…ask me any questions as I have edited the parts some…and will continue to add more of my flavor/touches/edits to it.
My 3 part Geese stuff should answer all your Geese qs…if not ask me…I been playing him for abut a year now…and like I said he is my best character hands down…perfect for OCVing people if you master him…
I found this at Game Crazy yesterday and I got their last copy.
I’m really surprised this game didn’t go anyplace competitively as it is really good. It reminds me a lot of 2002 the system select really adds some depth to the game. I’ve found nothing extremely broken in it yet. Hopefully since the game has a US release it might get picked up and some tourneys going for it
Thanks Dark Geese, that should help out a lot. Thankfully I found out my copy of Neowave has shipped today along with the free Terry hat (Shwing!). That means I should get the game by friday. I can hardly wait. goes off to play CvS2 to kill time
Sure no thing…glad I could help you out with the Geese stuff…there is nothing really super broken about the game as a whole…it corrects many things and does a good job of it…but…
Vanessas big combo in 2k2 is now EASIER…you dont even need the f+a anymore…just use (st. Cx2 to HCF+Cxxteleport with b) until meter runs out.
But despite all this she aint the same…some things of hers have obviously been toned down…
Daimon has a new sick Sc trap which is nigh unavoidable…even if you roll…
