Well but the tiers I have seen have Geese, Saisyu, Choi, and Jhun as the top of the tiers. If Geese is A then the other A members should drop down…Geese should be the only A member…
Jhun can handle Geese Aaron I assure you…
I am going based on not only SBO stuff but also playing people what know what they are doing with these characters…
S Class can have a ranking…I mean come on look at 3s Yun is #1, Ken #2, Chun #3…By your token S Class in 3s should be just Yun and Ken…nope…
You cant judge necessarily based on matchups bc if that was the case in 3s I’d put Chun over Ken any day of the week bc IMO Chun beats Ken in 3s…but the S Class is as it is…I didnt make it up…it is definite…
I still offer to show you what S-Class Geese is all about…
Now you’re just saying things. Choi and Saisyu are just about even but both of them are tough for everyone else. I don’t know why brought up 3S tiers into this.? Guess you don’t know where I’m coming from.
Yes if Geese is A then of course everyone drops down but I don’t think Geese will be alone in A. Now I haven’t looked at your other tiers but I’m sure there is some changes needed to be done there as well.
I still go by the tiers I have seen and what I have seen that is your S Class, Saisyu and Choi are at the top yes but the S Class consists of 4 people…
I believe Geese is in S Class also bc there are not many other characters outside of S Class that can beat him…same with others…the best matchups as a whole are the other S Class members…
I personally dont have much of a problem with Saisyu… he cant HH all day against me with HH C, HH D, HH crossover b blah blah blah to combo stuff.
Geese is revolving in your opinion in the tiers,
The Kazuki of Neo Wave, first Kazuki was S Class, then he dropped to A Class, then he keeps revolving, the revolving door. (Tenka that is)
Oh well lets discuss the other characters, bc as I said S Class is based off an actual tournament figure…
Lets discuss A Class…where there is variety and the discussion can get interesting…
Yeah, jumping from Neowave/2003 to XI was a huge difference, especially how freakin fast XI is and rapid short jump attacks are the main priority to XI.
Still dont agree with that and know many others that dont agree with it as well…Geese is S Class as he is in the tiers…
Choi was tops in 2k2, and he is untouched in NeoWave actually(with the exception of the NW damage scaling treatment) while others have been toned down apparently…
My top four for NW would be this in this order: #1-Choi #2-Saisyu #3-Young Geese #4-Jhun
As they are in the tiers… The S Class.
I seriously dont think Geese needs to be in A Class, he is better than the A Class…
So yes Choi is possibly the best character in the game
-He is hard to touch for anyone period
-Can runaway all damn day Think Malin in 2k3, she is practically a female Choi!!
-HSDM MAX2 Super is great and many many people do not know how to escape it!
-Has a good frame trap- walking a, rushdown Choi believe it!
-Jump Crossover C is damn good and can link to his bnb- Jump Crossover C, cr.b,cr,a Ranbu Rushdown super.
Saisyu is a very close second though…but he just doesnt phase me too much as he is just an overpowered very simple shoto character. Saisyu is straight 98, where he is top tier in that also. (Only thing new Saisyu got was his MAX2 HSDM mega fb super…cool as hell!!!)
Shall I continue to break down the S Class?
What I mean by debating the A Class is like if you disagree with someone I put in there then we can start a healthy debate about it like we have spent on the "Geese SBO Results S Class Debate."
And AA_Overmind, actually man at a fast level rapid short jump attacks (I prefer to call them Hyperhop) is actually old news…ask any seasoned KOF veteran and they will tell you XI surely isnt the first one to incorporate that…
Hyperhop has been around for a while and has been key to KOF…watch 2k2/NW matches and you will see…if they are tourney play everyone uses HH, which to me makes XI a smooth transition since I have down the basics…in XI I gotta grasp all the stuff they added to 2k3…thats really all…the other stuff to me is basic KOF…
What makes Jhun A Class? I haven’t had a chance to see what he is capable of.
All my scrubby ass knows is the B Stance C/U+C mixup and qcb B/Dxx qcfx2 B/D supercancel.
I’m having trouble finding a use for a lot of the other in stance moves. D from A stance seems useful, but f+A from B stance doesn’t seem as good as in 2k3, I could be wrong though, I just started playing him.
Also, I notice when he leaves stance, even by means of f+A/B he lags for a split second before he returns to his neutral stance. Is their some way to counter that, I was eating DMs constantly last night because of that.
Jhun is a very complex character that has an answer for everything practically…for learning Jhun I would recommend learning him from KOF 2000 bc he is practically the same…
Jhun has autoblock, dodge, parry moves, some priority, a great MAX2, a Stomp 99’ infinite if done properly (I didnt say that!!!), too many ways to mixup opponents and keep them guessing, but he has a high learning curve thats the catch.
Jhun is beasty on wakeup, that is where in the match vids I see him win most of the time…murdering people on wakeup.
Great now we might see a flood of Jhun users online that don’t know WTF they are doing lol
I seriously might pick Jhun up in this game, I mean it’s the Jhun I used for years before '01 took him out…I just got spolied by the more user friendly Jhun 1.5 that 2003 gave me lol
Thats what I fear…I knew the moment I said about Geese there would be a flock of Geese whores that would pick him expecting to win…if they want someone that damn easy that is top tier to win with pick SAISYU!!!
But I say that about HyperHop because in the arcade I go to, everyone whore’s HH a lot with Kyo/Beni/Duck/Gato/Kim, mostly the FOBs.
And its funny when I picked charac’s like Kensou and King that can prevent HH whores, they get really pissed off even though their strategy is whoring HH 96% of the time.
I don’t remember HH being so powerful before even though Ive seen it happening in the past KOFs, but in XI, jump attacks are so powerful that they destroy anti-airs and super involving anti-airs, like in NGBC ( even though jumps where slow, they still stopped almost anything )
But yeah, Choi is annoying bastard, but I was still surprise he was tops.
I still like playing Neowave, I have to get Xbox Live for XBOX 1 again. Once I transfered it to my 360, I was fucked.
that’s good anyway. I hate how I own SFAE, 03 & CFE on both systems including the fact that u getter better sound and graphics + net-play for X-Box.
will at least SNK is not in trouble for tax evasion lol.
And Dark Geese may I ask why Mature is a bottom tier (I wouldn’t know what tier she is anyway) but she seems decent 2 me. Ok poke strings, her Death Row attack. Standing close D is verifiable. A few links n shit. However, her Heaven’s Gate super got nerfed a bit in priority and the windows of cancellings her normals seem alot tighter while she her moves were slown down a bit
all from 98 where I played her the most lol :D.
Also how is Geese good in SC when he doesn’t have an SC (at least not that I’m aware of lol)
And does anyone know where I can get Re-Bout at cause it’s out of stock everywhere. I always try Toys R Us cause I work there sayign they’ll have it. Lol shit, when I was hired back in August 05 they still had the clamshells to SVC CHAOS and they never got SSV, KOFMI, Re-Bout or Neo-Wave in 4 X-Box, but suprisingly enough our store got 03 lol
Mature is bottom tier in NW for the same reasons she is bottom tier in 2k2-shitty damage and takes damage tremendously…
Geese doesnt need SuperCanceling but it gives him access to 3 Supers…which he can use to do the Best Super in the Game-Deadly Rave…the super that will make your friends and enemies run for cover and shit in their pants…
I read she was top tier in 2k2 lol. Some of her specials do good damage. I’m glad they carried Sacrielige from 2k2 since it didnt knock down in '98. But we need 98 Despair, faster, can combo and much safer.
Can anyone help my wit Vice? I been tryin’ to pick her up since 98 but I just suck wit her and hearing she’s mid-tier makes may wanna learn her even more since I believe Mature was always better than her lol but perhaps I’m wrong, except for 96
He is one of the top tiers in NW IMO. His HSDM(max2 mode only) comes out faster than 2k2. He can connect it in the corner after the hcf+P throw. Very evil…
What do you guys think of Orochi Yashiro now when compared to 2k2?
For some reason, Vice’s combo starters are limited in Neowave compare with the arcade version of 2k2.
One strategy I still use with her since 2k2 was hyperhop with B and then use her hcf+P after landing the jump B, it doesnt combo, but it sure confuses opponents and a majority of times, the grab hits.
Her standing C is hella good for zoning, not to mention her jump qcb+K.
On that Xbox live, I started first on 360 because it was the same time I got Cable Modem, so I can’t transfer it to my old Xbox:arazz:
