you never see people in the capcom community wanting to play shin akuma,gill(sf3), god rugal or evil ryu in cvs and why is that? hmmm

ive seen the promo video and orochi looks the same as he does in the og game.
he uses the light super lv1 btw and does nearly 1/2 life plus thats not even the point. hes a boss. in extra mode the lv1 supers can be used infinitely at 1/4 life.
so what? you get infinite full screen supers? great

sorry to rant so hard especially on xmas but ive waited patiently for more than 10 years for larry to put the real 98 and now this new one in his fucking tournaments and i swear i will not let you boss loving idiots fuck it up for the rest of us who want good competition in this hopefully not broken game.
i absolutely love 98 and theres not a weak character in the og game i can only hope they dont go too far with the new one.
the ultimate mode is a custom edit mode so thats how you got krauser with red fireballs or kyo with green flames
they show nightmare geese, who btw if you didnt notice his almost screen filling super, doing his double air fireballs and whipping a tall slow fireball at his opponent. looks pretty suspect. dont know bout banning him off that but if the other one plays like 96 it kinda seems like the right thing to do. cuz whats wrong with 96 geese. hes one of the best ppl in 96
anyway long story short(er) please use your best judgement with this one. if its good, i want people to play it like they’ve played ST for so long. but i guarantee if you start playing with all the friggin’ ultra boss characters no one will play this either. i mean, nobody wants that, right?

I have to agree. Honestly, with the new characters- I’d rather err on the side of banning, if they form a tier above Iori/Goro. I doubt SNK has balance as a high priority- I just hope they tone town those two, and try to tone up the rest to Chris/O-Yash standard. Some chars like Billy really need it.
I just want the original arcade version included.

woof you chill. 10 years is a long time to wait. im very close with larry but he loves capcom so much its hard to get an snk game in anywhere so ill take what i can get.
i dont want all this boss crap again because larry was about drop all snk everything because of the controvercy surrounding kofXI. why dont you guys want a balanced game with even fights that everyone even the spectators can enjoy. i just think without the boss gimmicks some of you guys come up short in the skills department and need a little something to compensate for that. why else would someone opt to play orochi instead of the 59 other characters? i mean really, the game isnt so difficult you have to use that shit to compete. all the characters are great in 98.
same thing with real bout special but for some reason people choose to play the unfinished in between beta trash called realbout2 thats chalked full of infinites glitches and the like. you know, pay no attention to the production testers that play tested an additional 6-8 months to fix kof xi and make an arranged version, god forbid you play cvs2 where there’s no roll cancel like the programmers intended, and definitely play the secret code characters that at a glance any of us can tell is ridiculous.
the problem is this:
everyone wants to base their rules on arcade or what the japanese are doing.
who cares what they’re doing. they dont play for money. they play for respect.
and if you use akuma in ST, youre looked down upon like a scrub and they move on. yeah you won but everyone knows you aint shit.
over here. we play for money. fuck the respect. how can you have both when you use the glitches and boss characters? you get zero respect for using those type of characters and anyone that throws tourneys doesnt want a bunch of unhappy contestants he wants good matches. so what does he do? he sets rules.

EX Geese will probably be legal- it depends on what he doesn’t have.

Orochi Iori/Leona banned unless proven otherwise I think.
Also, what should constitute the banning standard? I’d suggest it as in a tier above the best normal characters.
Also we have ZERO reason to use Japanese rules, unless it’s a SBO game.

That’s correct. All I heard about it was that in tourney matches players would do the loop about 3 hits.
As for who can/should be banned: No one knows anything at all to make a decision on that. As of now anyone is legit. I would prefer for everyone to be legal. That way we all can get a more diverse scene.
Well I’ve already told you this about three times in another thread but I’ll say it again. Characters aren’t banned because they are bosses, they are banned because they are broken. There isn’t enough information yet about Goenitz, Orochi Leona and the other bosses to determine if they are broken. They might end up being about as weak as Grant is in Garou.
Also, not all glitches are bad. Some of them actually increase the depth of the game (look at Guilty Gear).

BTW, when the hell is this game going to be finally released?
Supposedly January, but http://www.play-asia.com/ still doesn’t have a pre-order up for it, so probably later than sooner at this point. :shake:
